John Stamos replaces Josh Gad in Jesus Christ Superstar

John Stamos will replace Josh Gad in Jesus Christ Superstar. The Full House actor has stepped in to play King Herod in the live production at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles over the weekend after the Frozen star pulled out with COVID-19, and he has hailed the role a "dream" but also "a little insane" because he has had so little time to prepare. John wrote on Instagram: "Well… this weekend just got Biblical. I'm stepping in as King Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar at the @HollywoodBowl, starring the brilliant @cynthiaerivo . King @Joshgad unexpectedly got hit with COVID (feel better soon, brother!)and while I didn't push him down the stairs, I am grateful for the chance to step into the gold lamé. "This is an honor. A dream. And also a little insane because… I just stepped off a plane from @thebeachboys tour in Spain and have less than 24 hours to pull this off. Wish me luck. And let's rock the Bowl.(sic)" Cynthia Erivo, who plays Jesus, is "really excited" to work with John. She shared his post on her Instagram Story and wrote: "You are missed @JoshGad and thank you @JohnStamos for stepping in on such short notice. I'm really excited to see you.(sic)" Josh had shared his devastation on Wednesday (30.07.25) that he would no longer be performing in the musical extravaganza. He wrote on his own Instagram account: 'It is with enormous heartbreak that I inform you all that unfortunately, I have contracted a virus known as COVID (remember that one little b****** from season one of 'earth really sucks right now?'? "Anyway, out of an abundance of caution and respect for my cast, I will not be performing in Jesus Christ Superstar this weekend (unless I test negative). 'It truly breaks my heart, but I can assure you all that this is going to be one of the greatest things you will ever see. 'I hope at some point you get to see me wear the crown and show you what we've been up to, because it was quite something, but for now, sadly, I will not be able to grace the Hollywood Bowl.(sic)" The Hollywood Bowl reshared Josh's statement and wished the Frozen actor a "speedy recovery".

Jodie Sweetin is grateful for Full House association

Jodie Sweetin knows that she will be "forever" associated with Full House. The 43-year-old star was just five years old when she first played the character of Stephanie Tanner in the ABC comedy series and appreciates the enduring impression that the part has left on fans. Jodie told People: "I will be Stephanie Tanner forever. And I've come to be really okay with that over the last 20 years." The actress reprised her role as Stephanie in the Netflix sequel series Fuller House, which aired on the streaming service from 2016 to 2020, and credits the show for reviving her career. Sweetin explained: "I kind of walked away from the business at some point in my late 20s and was working in other fields, and I was totally fine. I was happy. "I would've continued on that, but getting the chance to come back and do Fuller and bring Stephanie back to life was amazing and wonderful." She added: "It also gave me the opportunity to do other things because I think finally people were like, 'Oh, you're an adult now.'" Jodie pointed out that it can be difficult for child stars to branch out from their initial roles and described how actors like Jodie Foster and Dakota Fanning went through similar experiences. She said: "For a while, people only think that you're capable of the thing that they've come to see you as." Sweetin recently revealed that she frequently gets called 'Stephanie' by fans but is happy to be known for a part that has enabled her to enjoy a lengthy career in the industry. The Hollywood Darlings star said: "I get to do what I do and continue to do it 37, 38 years later because people fell in love with Stephanie. Like, I'm not mad at that." Away from Full House, Jodie has starred in Hallmark movies such as Finding Santa and The Heiress and the Handyman and is excited that her fans get to see her in different projects. She said: "Our fans have been so wonderful and followed us through our whole careers. "I have a really incredible fan base that's excited to see me do something different."

Candace Cameron Bure credits son for helping save her marriage to Valeri Bure

Candace Cameron Bure's son saved her marriage. The 49-year-old actress - who has Natasha, 26, Lev, 25, and Maksim, 23, with husband Valeri Bure - admitted she and the former hockey player went through a "really, really rough" patch in their union and were questioning whether they still had a future together when their middle child gave them a lesson from the Bible, which he hoped would be helpful for the couple. Speaking on her eponymous podcast, Candace said: 'Val and I went through a really, really rough season in our marriage in 2020, and that's when the pandemic hit. 'It was going south quickly, and we were like, 'I don't know, don't think … we're gonna make it through.' "At one point, Lev, Maks and Natasha, but Lev was the one leading the charge. He came up to us and said, 'We'd like to talk to you guys.' Val and I sat down and Lev preached, like, a 45-minute sermon on marriage to us. Just had his Bible open on the couch and just talked about it.' 'And I'll never forget, 'cause he said, 'You know, I know I haven't been married. I'm just a young kid. And so it's probably hard to take marriage advice from someone this young [who] never experienced it before. But I don't need to be married to know what the word of God says.'' The Full House star recalled how Lev had 'such a calm voice that had so much wisdom behind it' when he sat his parents down, and the conversation made them appreciate what they had together. She continued: "He looked us straight in the eye and individually asked me and then asked Val, 'Have you done everything you can? Is there one step of grace, is there just some bit of more grace you can give? Is there one more act of kindness in you that you could give to try to reconcile?' 'When we walked away from that and Val and I were like, 'Huh, we raised some pretty good kids.'' Candace called her son's advice the "pivotal moment" that "really changed" things for her and Valeri, 51. She added: 'There was a lot more to it, but it's a whole different scenario when your kids sit you down to have a talk and go, 'Are you being as mature as you can be?' I'm so grateful to Lev and Maks and Natasha. They were so supportive of everything.' Lev was also on the podcast and admitted the words from his mom - who has been married to Valeri for 29 years - had left him "emotional" but he and his siblings were keen to do what they could. He said: 'I think it came from a point of love. Even when my siblings and I talked about it, it was like, 'Man, we want more than anything for our parents to be together.' But, let's get to the matter of fact, it's only going to happen through Jesus. That was all we could point them to.'
