Kevin Bridges devastated following death of the 'best wee dog there ever was'
Kevin Bridges has paid tribute to his "best wee" rescue dog following her sad passing.
In 2014, the Glasgow comic adopted Labrador Annie, who he credited with helping him think of new stand-up material, from the Dogs Trust after she was found abandoned on a street in Ireland.
The 38-year-old took to Instagram to share the sad news of the death of his "wee pal" and pay tribute to their bond, reports Glasgow Live.
In a post, he wrote: "Annie, the best wee dog there ever was. My wee pal who made so many people happy and made strangers smile every day.
"Thank you to the Dogs Trust Glasgow for ever introducing us. What a life."
Replying to his post, the Dogs Trust said: "So very sorry to see this Kevin. Thank you for giving Annie such a loving home and for your support."
Members of the public also offered their condolences to the legendary Glasgow funny man.
One person wrote: "Sorry for loss, dogs are more than pets they are family members."
A second added: "They absolutely leave us too soon and take a piece of your heart when they do. So sorry for your loss. I lost my two maremmas within weeks of each other recently but a foster boy saved me as much as I saved him. Keep your heart open and anything can happen."
A third said: "I'm so sorry Kevin, sending you loads of love. What a gorgeous, good girl."
In the lead-up to Christmas, in a separate incident, we reported that Kevin Bridges made a generous festive donation of £20k to Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) who run Rachel House in Kinross.
CHAS thanked the Clydebank comic and his wife Kerry for making the donation to the charity prior to Christmas.
The charity's Christmas Appeal aimed to raise vital funds to help give the gift of time and precious memories to families of dying children.
Kevin said: 'As parents ourselves now, the hearts of my wife and I go out more than ever to everyone at Robin House, Rachel House and all the children and families supported by CHAS services across Scotland.'
CHAS CEO Rami Okasha said: 'Kevin has visited our children's hospice, Robin House at Balloch several times over the years and his ongoing support is hugely appreciated.
'Each week in Scotland three children die from an incurable condition and CHAS can only be there for families with the support of kind donations like this.
"No one should have to face the death of a child alone and we provide unwavering care to children who may die young and their families, at every step on this hardest of journeys.
'Fundraising support makes a huge difference to children and families helping us to reach every family across Scotland who needs our care.'
Kevin also made personal donations to six other charities - West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare, the youth charity Y Sort It, Bags Full of Love West Dunbartonshire, Improving Lives, Launch Foods and DRC Youth Project in Glasgow.

Shrek 5 release date pushed back another 6 months and fans have same theory why
Universal and DreamWorks Animation have postponed Shrek 5 for a second time; it is now set to be released in 2027. Fans think their honest opinions are the reason for the push back Shrek fans have been waiting in anticipation for the fifth film about the hilarious ogre, his Princess Fiona, and their companions Donkey and Puss In Boots embark on another adventure together. However, despite a 15 year wait since the last Shrek blockbuster, it has been confirmed that the release date has been pushed back for a second time - and it is now set to be a 2027 film. The new film, which sees Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy reprise their roles as well as Zendaya join the cast as Shrek and Fiona's daughter, was due to be released in July next year. The release date was pushed back earlier this year to December 23 - with fans predicting it to be a Christmas treat for families. However, now the date has been pushed back a further six months to Wednesday, June 30, 2027. Fans think they have worked out the reason for this. The release date change comes after the trailer for Shrek 5 came out in February - and fans are not happy with how it looks. The trailer for the new movie shows Shrek and Donkey asking the Magic Mirror 'who's the fairest of them all?' to which the mirror replies 'why Shrek, of course?'. Fiona, Felicia and even Pinocchio join in on the fun to look at the mirror's depiction of Shrek who is shown to, unusually, have a six pack. Fans of the film series were quick to share their thoughts on the trailer on X. People were left unhappy with how different the animation looks in comparison to the other films in the franchise. One said "the art style is horrible", while another said "this is awful". Many hope that the criticism of the trailer has made DreamWorks and Universal listen to what fans want. In a post on @DicussingFilm which said: "SHREK 5 has been delayed to June 30, 2027." One individual commented: " listened to the community? That's quite significant, if true." While another said: "That's one step in the right direction." Someone else insisted"Good, fix the character design," another insisted," as another agreed: "They delayed it to change the animation style, trust." Another echoed: "I hope it's to fix the character design," while another added: "They definitely are changing the animation style after the backlash." Many others were sad it was such a long wait, although they said they wanted producers to get it right. "It sucks, but if this means that Shrek 5 is going to be ten times better, then it's worth the wait," wrote one person. While another added: "It's okay to wait, but that way it seems a bit too far. Far far Away." Universal Pictures has been approached for comment. Comedic legend Eddie Murphy, the voice behind Donkey, spoke last year about work being done on the fifth Shrek movie and even teased a future film. He told Collider: "We started doing [Shrek 5] months ago. I recorded the first act and we'll be doing it this year, we'll finish it up. "Donkey's gonna have his own movie. We're gonna do Donkey as well. We're doing a Donkey one next."

The Saturdays bandmates Rochelle Humes and Frankie Bridge give a major clue that they have ended their 'feud'
A huge clue has suggested that Rochelle Fumes and Frankie Bridge have ended their supposed 'feud '. The former bandmates became friends in childhood, both finding fame in S Club Juniors before joining Una Healy, Mollie King and Vanessa White in The Saturdays. Yet in recent months, their relationship is said to have soured, with the pair reportedly snubbing each other when they attended Wimbledon last month. But in a sign that their friendship is back on, the pair have been showing each other support on social media. The duo rarely like each others' content on Instagram however Frankie has shown support for Rochelle on a recent brand collaboration with Apple Arcade. And Rochelle has returned the favour by hearting Frankie's holiday posts while away with her family. Frankie posted a cryptic TikTok this week about no longer 'being a people pleaser' amid her reported 'secret feud' with Myleene Klass. Myleene is said to be at loggerheads with Frankie and her The Saturdays bandmate Rochelle - both former clients of her bodyguard ex-husband. According to new claims, ITV have been forced to step in to help smooth things in the decade-long feud, which is just now coming to light, as they both often appear on Loose Women. And this week while enjoying a sunny holiday Frankie took to TikTok as she mimed along to Sabrina Carpenter's hit track Manchild. Over the video, the caption read: 'Taking 36 years to realise being a people pleaser doesn't please anyone. 'Fad diets are a waste of time. Turns out it's all about balance?! Who knew?! 'Only you can make yourself happy. You can do the hard thing! You've got this,' followed by a red love heart emoji. She penned in the caption: 'Taking 36 years to learn and still doing them anyway…'. It comes after last week the moment Myleene and Frankie were caught in an awkward exchange on a Loose Women episode last year came back to light as a new report claimed the pair are embroiled in a 'secret feud'. Myleene, Frankie and Rochelle all used to hang out together, with the former two attending Rochelle's hen do in 2012. Yet the following year, Myleene is said to have believed she was being 'blanked' by Frankie and confronted her at the 2013 Glamour Women of the Year awards - which is when the pair requested not to work together. However, due to a staff shortage around Christmas last year, Myleene and Frankie ended up on the same Loose Women panel - resulting in an 'awkward' episode with 'minimal interaction'. They were joined by panelists Kaye Adams and Linda Robson, who sat between them, the camera flashed to Myleene as Frankie discussed her dislike for the drawn out days between Christmas and New Year. Myleene flashed a vacant smile, as Frankie explained that she 'feels a bit lost' during the period between the two festive holidays. Meanwhile Myleene's feud with Rochelle is said to have been sparked after The Saturdays star recently shared a picture of herself on holiday in Ibiza with husband Marvin and Myleene's ex-husband Graham Quinn. Graham used to work as JLS' tour manager and last week Myleene accused him of cheating on her with an unknown star. According to insiders close to the situation, Rochelle sharing the photo on Instagram the same week she made the revelation was 'game over' for Myleene. It's the latest twist as it's been reported that there has been an underlying conflict between Myleene, Rochelle and Frankie, who all work at ITV. This week, Frankie sparked frenzied speculation by posting a cryptic video, saying somebody was 'dead to me', with fans wondering if she was talking about Rochelle. It was claimed they snubbed each other when attending Wimbledon last month. A source told The Sun: 'They don't seem to be getting on and that's making things more complicated for bookers who are keen to keep everyone happy. 'They've been competing since they were 12 when they joined S Club Juniors and now it appears they're competing for top jobs on ITV. While Rochelle rose in the ranks to present This Morning, her appearances have become few and far between since other famous faces have been brought in. 'Meanwhile Frankie has been a regular panellist on Loose Women since 2020 and has the ear of ITV producers who she's become close friends with. Now ITV bosses do everything they can to avoid awkward run-ins. If Rochelle is on This Morning and has to pass over to Frankie on Loose Women, it's kept as brief as possible.' The former bandmates became friends in childhood, both finding fame in S Club Juniors before joining Rochelle Humes, Una Healy, Mollie King and Vanessa White in The Saturdays. Yet in recent months, their relationship is said to have soured, with the pair reportedly snubbing each other when they attended Wimbledon last month. The pair were both pictured enjoying the hospitality at the tennis tournament but it is said they kept their interactions to a minimum. An onlooker claimed: 'It was clear the women were keeping their distance. They sat on opposite sides of the suite and kept to themselves.' They added to The Sun: 'While Frankie posed for pictures with S Club's Rachel Stevens, Rochelle took selfies with her husband Marvin and his I'm A Celebrity campmate Sam Thompson. 'Even though they were pleasant to each other when they did brush shoulders, they didn't spend any extra time together than they had to, in between being amicable while passing each other en route to watch the tennis.' Frankie's representatives have told Daily Mail that there is 'absolutely no feud' between the pair, while those close to Rochelle insist there is 'no feud'. Myleene's representative declined to comment on the situation. Yet that didn't stop Frankie posting a cryptic social media post on Monday that was captioned: 'You're so quiet… Thanks, you said something five years ago and I've just realised you're actually dead to me.' The TikTok video showed Frankie sipping on a glass of wine and was set to the music of Avril Lavigne's What The Hell. Frankie then added below: 'Takes me a while, but once you're dead you're dead.' She didn't specify who or what incident she was talking about in the post. While Frankie and Rochelle found fame as singers they have since both turned their hand to the world of TV - with Frankie a regular panelist on Loose Women, while Rochelle is a stand-in presenter for This Morning. As for Myleene, she hit headlines last week when she publicly addressed ex-husband Graham's cheating scandal. Graham, 47, started dating Myleene in 2001, having met when he worked as security guard for her pop group Hear'Say. The couple went on to welcome daughters Ava, 17, and Hero, 14, and tied the knot in 2011 after a decade together - only to separate six months later. Speaking on Paul Brunson's We Need To Talk podcast, the mother-of-two said: 'I walked in on him with a famous person on my birthday on a balcony.' Turning her thoughts towards the other woman, Myleene said: 'I've made peace with that situation now, but for a long time, it was very difficult to see their life. 'My life literally just broke apart very, very publicly and their life, they've managed to continue building a family brand on it. I have to take some accountability. 'Look, you know, first and foremost to my children. My children have asked enough questions and it's never been a case of laying out my stall now. 'It's got to be as and when. But here's the funny thing - school mums, people who just want to gossip, will go to your children before anybody else.' Speculation of a feud then went into overdrive when Frankie shared a TikTok video about holding a grudge - with fans speculating that she was referring to Rochelle because it followed reports that they had snubbed one another at Wimbledon last month According to the TV presenter, the pair tried to claim that it wasn't what it looked like and she continued: 'I'm in my house, it's my party. They weren't having sex, but they were unzipping each other. 'It's not what you think'. But I'm like, 'It is what I think'. 'It's the first thing they both said. I kicked everyone out of the party, including his mum and dad. They went back to Ireland and his dad said: 'He doesn't get it from me'. 'I remember thinking that was quite a weird thing to say,' she told the love expert. Graham tried to blame the affair on being drunk. Myleene admitted the whole ordeal was a 'pretty big red flag' but still went through with their wedding in October 2011.

We've got a Two Doors Down Christmas Special on the way! 'The last series had left viewers on the edge of their seats after Alan popped the question in Vegas.' Fears that new episodes of Two Doors Down would never air again were raised when the programme's co-creator, Simon Carlyle, sadly died in 2023, aged just 48. However, in March, these fears were quashed when it was revealed that the cast would be returning for a one-off episode on the BBC. Gregor Sharp, who has written the new Christmas special, said: 'It's really exciting to be revisiting Latimer Crescent with all the regular cast for this new episode. "Christmas is a time for getting together with friends and family and then becoming low-level irritated by them, so it feels like they're the perfect group to celebrate the season with.' BBC director of comedy, Jon Petrie, added: 'There's something comforting about having the neighbours round for Christmas, even if they bring minor chaos."
