AMMAN — HRH Prince El Hassan Bin Talal on Wednesday lectured at the Royal Jordanian National Defence College, titled "A Foresight Reading of the New Global Geopolitical and Scientific Reality."
The lecture was attended by College Commander Brigadier General Khaled Bani Younes, Assistant for Administration and Human Resources Brigadier General Khalil Dajjah, the Chair and members of the Guidance, Students and Studies Authority and senior officers of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF).
During the lecture, Prince El Hassan presented his vision of strengthening joint Arab efforts in light of rapid global developments, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He called for supporting economic and social development funds, expanding their roles to become leading regional platforms, akin to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
He also urged for the creation of regional initiatives, such as the Citizens Council of the Levant to address the specific needs of the Levant and Arabian Peninsula.
The initiatives, led and organised by the region itself, would foster regional creative partnerships and promote cross-border cooperation, he added.
"Our region is deprived of an institutional entity to manage resources and the environment," he said.
The vision proposed by Prince El Hassan is built on key components, including policy dialogue, coordination and the enhancement of solidarity and integration within the region.
He highlighted the importance of integration based on mutual interdependence, warning against the politicisation of differences that could lead to conflicts and wars.
Addressing the situation in the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem, he underscored the importance of Palestinian unity and strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian people.
He noted that Israel's exploitation of the energy sector serves its military operations and its illegal presence in the occupied Palestinian territories, which he described as a violation of international law.

21 Martyred in Israeli Strikes on Gaza Since Early Sunday - Jordan News
21 Martyred in Israeli Strikes on Gaza Since Early Sunday Palestinian medical sources have reported that 21 Palestinians were martyred in Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip since early Sunday morning. According to the sources, 8 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli strike on Jabalia al-Balad in northern Gaza. Medical teams also recovered the bodies of two martyrs following an Israeli attack on the Ma'an area east of Khan Younis. The sources added that 5 Palestinians, including two young girls, were killed when an Israeli drone struck a displaced persons' tent camp in al-Mawasi, Khan Younis. Additionally, young girl Dima Abu Mousa succumbed to wounds she sustained in an earlier Israeli airstrike on Khan Younis. In Rafah, 4 Palestinians were killed and 70 others injured by Israeli forces near an aid distribution center in the western part of the city. In central Gaza, one Palestinian was martyred and others were injured by Israeli gunfire near an aid center along what is referred to as the 'Netzarim Axis.' The Israeli army also demolished Palestinian homes and facilities in Jabalia, in northern Gaza, and in eastern Gaza City. Medical sources warned that fuel supplies at Gaza hospitals are sufficient for only two more days, and that many wounded individuals are struggling to reach hospitals in southern Gaza due to ongoing military activity. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated yesterday that "the current aid distribution model in Gaza is ineffective and amounts to a death sentence for people." Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza on October 7, 2023, the death toll has risen to 54,772 with 125,834 injuries reported. — WAFA News Agency اضافة اعلان

Freedom flotilla set to reach Palestinian waters in 19 hours
The aid ship Madleen is expected to reach Palestinian waters near the Gaza Strip in approximately 19 hours, according to activists on board. Rima Hassan, a French-Palestinian Member of the European Parliament sailing with the crew, had posted on Instagram that the ship would arrive within a day. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Rima Hassan (@rimamobarak) Brazilian activist Thiago Ávila, also aboard the Madleen, said the ship is now about 190 miles (306 km) from Gaza. In a video posted Sunday morning, Ávila called on supporters around the world to urge their governments to ensure the vessel's safe passage. Ávila described the mission as modest, with just 12 people on board carrying as much aid as possible, including food, medicine, crutches, prosthetics for amputated children, and water filters, acknowledging that it amounts to only a small fraction of what Gaza needs. He also expressed concern about the dangers ahead, referencing Israeli Occupation's history of intercepting aid ships bound for Gaza. He emphasized that visibility and public pressure on governments are the most effective ways to help ensure the Madleen reaches its destination safely. 'Israeli' forces raid Al Jazeera office in Ramallah, renew 60-day closure order
Israeli Occupation Forces raided Al Jazeera's office in the West Bank city of Ramallah on Friday and renewed its closure for another 60 days, according to Al Jazeera. This marks the latest escalation in a series of measures aimed at silencing the Qatari-based network's coverage in the occupied Palestinian territories. The renewed closure comes after a similar 60-day extension in April. The office was first shut down in September 2023 under a military order, during which 'Israeli' forces stormed the premises, confiscated all equipment and documents, and banned staff from using their vehicles. In May 2024, the 'Israeli' government formally approved a proposal by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi to shut down Al Jazeera's offices inside 'Israel'. The decision was implemented immediately under what was dubbed the 'Al Jazeera Law,' allowing 'Israeli' authorities to block the network's broadcasts and operations within the country.
