This 12-Mile Mustang Fox Body Just Sold for Over $200K, And Rightfully So
Running from 1979 to 1993, the Fox Body Mustang is the longest-running generation of the American pony car, and is arguably the greatest generation of the revered nameplate. It transcended cohorts, from Gen-Xers to Millennials, outselling every other version of the Mustang (except the sixth). Ford knew this, so it introduced a styling package for the S650 Mustang inspired by the Fox Body generation.
However, if you want a genuine Fox Body, one that looks like it just rolled right off the showroom floor, there was one example listed on Bring a Trailer. It's a 1993 Mustang SVT Cobra, and it just sold for $204,000 for good reasons.
The 1993 Mustang CVT Cobra that you see here is in pristine condition, with only 12 miles on the clock. According to the listing, the car was originally owned and stored long-term by the first owner, acquired by the current selling dealer this year.
Just like the newly introduced Fox Body package for the S650, this Mustang CVT Cobra is painted in Teal Metallic. As it's kept in factory condition, it's still equipped with fog lights, a removable sunroof panel, a rear spoiler, Cobra-specific badging, and polished dual exhaust tips. Interestingly, the 17-inch turbine-style alloy wheels are still wrapped by their original Goodyear Eagle tires.
Inside, the Fox Body Mustang CVT Cobra is still showroom fresh, with plastic protective covers over the Opal Grey leather seats. Its air-conditioning system was recently serviced in March.
Unlike other Fox-Body Mustangs, this SVT Cobra is powered by a 5.0-liter V8, producing 235 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, sent to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. It comes with SVT-specific enhancements, such as a unique upper intake manifold and camshaft, a 65mm throttle body, a GT40 cast-iron head, and aluminum roller rockers. A new fuel pump was installed during its last service.
It's amazing how this Fox Body Mustang has been kept in this condition, considering it was built on May 10, 1993. Curiously, its price then was $21,578, which is around $48,000 in today's money. With that $204,000 hammer price, the desirability of this SVT Cobra is undeniable – and rightfully so, considering that it may be the cleanest Fox Body left.

The Ferrari Purosangue - with all 6.5 liters of engine capacity and 12 cylinders - is more efficient than this Mustang in city driving, at 11 mpg. According to the EPA, you will use 8.3 gallons of gas in the GTD per 100 miles, while spending $12,500 more in fuel costs over five years than the average new car. The annual fuel cost of the Mustang is around $4,400, but that's based on covering 15,000 miles per year, which most GTDs are unlikely to ever do. The Mustang GTD gets a host of extras over and above normal Mustangs, and these demonstrate what a specialized beast it is. As standard, you get an Akrapovic titanium exhaust, Brembo brakes with carbon ceramic rotors, various carbon fiber body panels, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires. Inside, there is a 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster and a 13.2-inch touchscreen with graphics that are unique to the GTD. If you tire of the sound of that 5.2-liter V8, there's a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. Recaro racing seats will hold occupants firmly in place. The customer who ordered this particular GTD added red brake calipers for $1,500 and an exposed carbon fiber roof for $10,000. The Equipment Group 100A appears not to have any cost, and includes a fixed wing, black seat belts, and a painted black lower surround. Overall, this customer had to cough up $339,460 for this Mustang GTD. The Mustang GTD is powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine with an output of 815 horsepower. All of that is transferred to the rear wheels via an eight-speed Tremec dual-clutch transaxle. A special racing, semi-active suspension and all that grunt allowed the GTD to become the first American sports car to lap the Nurburgring in under seven minutes along the circuit's 12.9-mile stretch. The official time was six minutes and 52.072 seconds. Flat out, the Mustang GTD will reach a top speed of 202 mph, easily trumping the fastest 911 GT3, which can "only" reach 194 mph. It's been over a year since Ford began accepting applications for the Mustang GTD, but even that won't guarantee you one of these Mustangs, as Ford goes through a discerning process to determine who is worthy enough to buy it. Pierre and the surrounding community continue to mourn the loss of a young life.16-year-old Aiden Van Balen was killed in a car crash on June 4th. Aiden had just completed his sophomore year at TF Riggs High School. He loved playing sports and was known for tooling around town on his moped. There's A Lot to Like About Cadillac's Chances to Win 24 Hours of Le Mans
After its four teams advanced to Hyperpole, Cadillac locked up the front row in qualifying for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. There's only one goal left for the American manufacturer. Can Cadillac win the 93rd running of the world's most famous sports car race? The odds look better than any of the first two years that Cadillac V-Series.R teams have raced at Le Mans with their LMDh hybrids against the dominant LMH hybrids of Ferrari and Toyota. This year, a Cadillac was either first or second in the first three practices and in the qualifying sessions. The key is avoiding major errors, said Gary Nelson, the team manager for the No. 311 V-Series.R of Action Express Racing that qualified eighth. 'The last two years, the big thing for us was making mistakes,' said Nelson. 'We're always trying to not repeat our mistakes and hopefully we don't come up with some new ones. Then we'll see where the cards fall.' The British Jota team and its pole-winning No. 12 driven by Alex Lynn and the runner-up No. 38 of Earl Bamber contested the first three rounds of the World Endurance Championship as newcomers to Cadillac, having replaced Chip Ganassi Racing as the factory representative for the GM brand. Entering the Test Day, Jota relied on the massive compilation of digital records from Action Express's previous two trips to Le Mans. Last year, Jota won at Spa with its Porsche 963, the only privateer team to have won a Hypercar race in the WEC. With seventh on the grid its best showing, the Ferrari crews of AF Corse, winners of the first three WEC rounds and the last two Le Mans 24-hours, appeared to be focused on race preparation. The new Balance of Performance (BoP) has dictated compensating for a loss of top speed. According to drivers, the search for lap times has played havoc with the 499P's race set-up. But, throwing down a gauntlet, the Ferraris were first and second in the final night practice. Toyota Gazoo Racing also appeared to be focused on consistent race pace in place of qualifying. After the No. 7 GR010 Hybrid surprisingly missed the Top 15 in the first round, the No. 8 managed only 10th in the final round. Qualifying lasts for just one flying lap on low fuel and fresh Michelins. The grueling race is another matter. 'The hard work really starts (once qualifying ends),' said Will Stevens, co-driver in the No. 12 Cadillac. 'It's a long road ahead but after qualifying we're pretty confident.' If the new BoP has indeed brought the LMH cars of Ferrari and Toyota back to the field, it means Cadillac, including the Wayne Taylor Racing entry that starts 14th, will have plenty of competition from the fellow LMDh-based cars of Alpine, BMW and Porsche. Porsche Penske Motorsport will be in its third season of a three-car entry. But it has not been Penske perfect with the No. 6 Porsche 963 being banished to the back of the field for being underweight in qualifying. Before Mathieu Jaminet qualified his No. 5 Porsche third, a wheel came off on course. "We've had a busy and quite difficult few days, but qualifying has shown once again: When it comes down to it, our team is fully there," said Jonathan Diuguid, managing director of Porsche Penske. The No. 4 Porsche, where Felipe Nasr and Nick Tandy will try to add a Le Mans victory to wins in the Rolex 24 at Daytona and Sebring 12-Hour, starts fifth. Laurens Vanthoor, starting 21st in the No. 6, will also try to complete endurance racing's triple after co-driving with Nasr and Tandy in Daytona and Sebring. The BMW M Team WRT (fourth and sixth on the grid), and the Alpine Endurance Team (ninth and 12th) each gave Ferrari a run in the previous round at Spa and can be expected to challenge in the 24-hour, where fuel mileage, pit strategy and tire wear will be significant factors as well as track position and driving. Only the new Aston Martin Valkyrie and Peugeot's still struggling 9X8 are considered such long shots in a crowded field that they are out of the running.
