Premier League matches to be preceded by silence in memory of Diogo Jota
As well as a period of silence prior to kick-off in the matches, players of all clubs will be given black armbands while messaging and imagery will be shared with clubs for them to use on big screens.
Tributes were paid to the brothers prior to last Sunday's Community Shield between Liverpool and Crystal Palace at Wembley, with wreaths laid on the pitch and a period of silence before kick-off.

A minority of Eagles fans broke the silence, eliciting a strong response at the other end of the pitch, as well as from other Eagles supporters who tried to silence those not respecting the tribute.
Reds head coach Arne Slot said: 'I don't think this was planned, or that this was the idea of the fan that made some noise. Maybe he wasn't aware of the fact that it was the minute of silence.
'He was just still happy and tried to cheer for his team. And I think then the fans of Palace were trying to calm that person or those persons down, so I don't think he had a bad intention, the guy or people that made noise.
'They tried to calm him down, but that was a bit noisy as well. And then our fans reacted, 'Hey, what's happening here?'.

'So I don't think there's a bad intention to it, because the fans of Crystal Palace and everywhere around the world have paid huge respect to Diogo and Andre and this was, I think, unlucky or, I can't find the right words, but I don't think there was a bad intention in it.'
Liverpool fans earlier paid their respects with a rousing rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' as the wreaths were brought out, raising a white banner reading 'Diogo J' and featuring the forward's image and number 20.
The club's record goalscorer Ian Rush, Palace chairman Steve Parish and Football Association chair Debbie Hewitt laid the wreaths in the Liverpool end as fans from both sides showed their respect with a standing ovation as the siblings' images were displayed on the big screens inside the stadium.
Liverpool have retired Jota's number 20 shirt in tribute to the player.

LIVERPOOL started their season with a bang — and I expect it to be drama all the way to a second Premier League title in a row. Bournemouth gave them a really good go at Anfield on Friday night and exposed some potential weak points, but Arne Slot's men showed their quality in the end. 7 7 It feels like it is going to be a great season, with a few good clubs looking to challenge at the top of the table. But I still can't get past the Reds for top spot. They have recruited so well this summer and just in case we had forgotten about him, Mo Salah reminded us of his class with a goal late on. Richard Hughes, who played for me at Portsmouth, has done an incredible job. He got a bit of stick early on after a quiet summer last year — and all the noise around contracts for Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold. But he is an encyclopedia of football — ask him about any player, playing anywhere and he will know all about them. He is a real plus for Liverpool and certainly looks to have found a gem in Hugo Ekitike — if they go and get Alexander Isak on top then everyone should be worried. I don't like how Isak has handled the situation, but this is the way it is now. He will know exactly what is on offer at Anfield in terms of a contract and will have known for some time. His team-mates won't give a monkeys about how he has behaved recently, they all know it could be them in that boat next year pushing for a big move. The fans all have the hump with him, and rightly so, but the moment he comes back and scores a goal there will be 50,000 Geordies singing his name. That's just the name of the game now, he has no problems either way, but Liverpool's title rivals will have a problem if he makes the move to Anfield. The most dangerous rival, again, will be Arsenal. They have certainly got stronger since finishing second, again, last time out and finally have that striker we've all been saying they needed. Mikel Arteta's side fell away a bit at the end last season but they will be back. No one should be calling for Arteta's head if the Gunners don't quite get there again, he has done a smashing job there and just been beaten by some very good teams. And even though I've gone for Slot's side, I'm not saying Arsenal can't do it, they can and look to have what they need to kick on. Chelsea get going at home against Crystal Palace today and are an interesting one to look at. They could go close to the title, for sure, but I can't see them going all the way. The Blues have signed some good players, they have a strong, powerful squad, but there might be too many options for Enzo Maresca and that can bring problems. I can't name their best team, even their best centre-halves. That is not the case with Arsenal and Liverpool, the teams can name themselves at times. 7 You need a happy dressing room and, I don't care who they are, if players are not playing they are not happy. With so many players there will be big names nowhere near the team at times, and that can cause big problems — it won't be easy to manage. I also worry they lack a bit of leadership still — what they would give to have a John Terry-type in the squad. A proper captain and leader on the pitch. Where are they in this Chelsea squad? There aren't many about but the proper title contenders have them in players like Kop skipper Van Dijk. We have to mention Manchester City and Pep Guardiola — you can never write them off but there are questions. They will miss Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker, Rodri is still not quite fit and there are always worries over whether John Stones can be available — he's a fantastic player. Outside the title contenders, I fancy Tottenham to be a dark horse after a horrible season last time out. They looked good against Paris Saint-Germain in the main and have a strong squad if they can stay fit. 7 7

Man arrested after Bournemouth footballer reported racist abuse at match
AFC Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo reported being racially abused by a spectator during the opening match against Liverpool. Match referee Anthony Taylor stopped play in the 29th minute on Friday and a man, 47, was ejected from Anfield stadium. A 47-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and has been taken into custody to be interviewed, Merseyside Police said. Semenyo scored twice in the second half to help bring Bournemouth back from two goals down at Anfield before Liverpool went on to eventually win the contest 4-2. The following day, the 25-year-old forward said on social media: 'Last night at Anfield will stay with me forever – not because of one person's words, but because of how the entire football family stood together.' He thanked his teammates, Liverpool players and fans 'who showed their true character', and the Premier League officials 'who handled it professionally'. Semenyo continued: 'Scoring those two goals felt like speaking the only language that truly matters on the pitch. This is why I play – for moments like these, for my teammates, for everyone who believes in what this beautiful game can be. 'The overwhelming messages of support from across the football world remind me why I love this sport. We keep moving forward, together.' An anti-discrimination message was read out to the Anfield crowd, and it is understood that police officers went into the referee's room at half-time. The incident came two days after Tottenham Hotspur player Mathys Tel received racist abuse online after missing a penalty in his side's Uefa Super Cup win against Paris Saint-Germain. Liverpool captain van Dijk labelled the reported abuse aimed at Semenyo as a 'disgrace'. He agreed it was symptomatic of a wider problem not restricted to football, but said greater attempts had to be made to change the mindset. Campaigns such as taking the knee and Kick It Out have not been able to eradicate the issue, he added. Van Dijk said: 'What else can we do? Because this is the very odd one (case) that has managed to say something that is obviously a disgrace. 'The only thing we can do is deal with it by dealing with him personally and try to educate the next generation. That is the only way to try and kick it out, in my opinion. 'I can't believe it. These things shouldn't happen but unfortunately it does and it is an absolute disgrace in my eyes. 'First and foremost these things should never happen in the world, not only football. I am happy to say I don't see it happening up until today actually. 'But in general racism is not of this world in my opinion, but if we are to be realistic, unfortunately, it still exists and that is the painful side of it. 'We have to deal with it in the here and now.' Chief Inspector Kev Chatterton, match commander for the Liverpool versus Bournemouth game, said on Friday: 'Merseyside Police will not tolerate hate crime of any form.' 'We take incidents like this very seriously, and in cases like this we will be proactively seeking football banning orders, with the club, against those responsible.' He added: 'There is no place for racism and it is vital that anyone who witnesses such an offence reports it to stewards, or the police, immediately so we can take the necessary action like we did this evening. 'As with all matches, we work very closely with both Liverpool and Everton FC to ensure the safety of the public and the players.' A spokesperson for Liverpool Football Club said it is aware of the allegation of racist abuse and that 'we condemn racism and discrimination in all forms, it has no place in society, or football'. The Football Association said it was 'concerned' about the allegation of racism towards Semenyo and that it would ensure 'appropriate action' would be taken.
