Summer courses organized on Tuesday under the theme "Knowledge and Jihad" concluded in al-Tawila district of Mahweet governorate.
At the closing ceremony, attended by Governorate undersecretary Hussein Arkadh and governorate prosecutor Dr. Fadl al-Muta'a, district's mobilization officer Hussein al-Sharif emphasized the importance of these courses in protecting young people from "soft warfare" and "false cultures."
He noted the success of the summer programs, which contributed to the students' development and their understanding of Quranic culture.
The ceremony, which was also attended by the district's director, Rashid Marwan, featured a scout performance by the summer school students, showcasing their discipline and morale.

The speeches also emphasized the deep reverence and loyalty of the Yemeni people toward the Prophet, their firm adherence to their faith and Quranic culture, and their celebration of the Prophet's birthday despite attempts by the enemies of the nation to suppress it and spread misleading cultures. The speakers stressed the importance of emulating Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), following his path, drawing lessons from his life, his struggles, his courage, and his fight against polytheism and misguidance. Attendees were urged to participate in large numbers in the grand celebration on 12 Rabi' al-Awwal to honor the birthday of the Guide, the Chosen Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and to defy the enemies and hypocrites.

Sana'a – Saba: The Local Council and Public Mobilization Office of Al-Sabeen District in the Capital Secretariat organized on Sunday an expanded gathering of sheikhs, dignitaries, and community leaders as part of the preparatory activities marking the anniversary of the Prophet's Birthday (Mawlid al-Nabawi) for the year 1447 AH. During the meeting, First Deputy Prime Minister, Scholar Mohammed Muftah, called for active participation in the celebratory events and activities, emphasizing the importance of expressing joy and devotion in ways that embody love for the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and attachment to his noble example. He affirmed that the occasion represents a spiritual station that strengthens Quranic values, urging the public to follow the Prophet's example, draw lessons from his life, intensify efforts for mobilization and participation in the central commemoration on the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal. For his part, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, Dhaifullah Rassam, highlighted the deep loyalty of the Yemeni people to the Prophet and their adherence to the Muhammadan path, considering the wide public turnout at these events as a clear affirmation of their belonging to the message of Islam. Meanwhile, Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hamoud Obad, stressed the importance of field engagement to strengthen community participation, affirming that commemorating the occasion also reflects Yemen's steadfast stance in supporting Gaza and Palestine.

Houthi Abductions in Yemen's Ibb: 480 Civilians Detained Since 2023

Ibb – A recent report by the Netherlands-based human rights organization Rights Radar has revealed that over 480 civilians, including 51 children and 7 women, have been abducted by Houthi forces in Ibb Governorate since the beginning of 2023. The report documents seven waves of abductions carried out by the Houthis between 2023 and mid-2025, targeting a wide range of individuals including teachers, university students, journalists, political activists, and humanitarian workers. The peak of these operations occurred in September 2023 and 2024, with 95 and 250 individuals abducted respectively. Another wave followed in May–July 2025, coinciding with celebrations of Yemeni Unity Day, during which 48 civilians, mostly academics and professionals, were detained. Geographic Breakdown of Abductions in Ibb The report highlights the most affected areas: - Al-Mashanna: 64 cases - Dhi al-Sufal: 45 cases - Ibb suburbs: 35 cases - Al-Zuhar: 30 cases - Hazm al-Udayn: 24 cases - Ibb city center: 23 cases - Additional cases were reported across other districts including Al-Sadda, Al-Udayn, Mudhaykhira, Al-Sabrah, and Al-Sayani. Targeted Institutions and Individuals The Houthis reportedly raided homes and institutions, including the University of Science and Technology and Saba Bank, detaining staff members and academics. Among those abducted were Dr. Mohammed Naaman Al-Kholani, a PhD researcher, and Dr. Mohammed Qaed Aqlaan, director of a Quranic school. Human Rights Concerns Rights Radar warned that these actions violate international human rights treaties and emphasized that victims retain the right to pursue legal action against perpetrators. The organization called on UN Special Envoy Hans Grundberg to intervene and ensure the protection of civilians under Houthi control.
