Viral McNeese Hoops Manager Has His Own Manager Now

McNeese State didn't wait for March to go dancing—or to go viral.
In late February, a video of the Cowboys bopping onto the court before their game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi garnered millions of views thanks to team manager Amir Khan's performance rapping the lyrics of Lud Foe's 'In & Out.'

Since this is 2025, that explosion of interest precipitated a flood of promotional opportunities. Khan has since signed NIL deals with Insomnia Cookies, TickPick and Buffalo Wild Wings, who sent the team a new boom box to use as they emerge for Thursday's first-round game against Clemson.
The team didn't disclose the financial terms of those tie-ups, though Khan said the cash is significant to him. His position is otherwise unpaid. Special assistant to the head coach Reed Vial has stepped in to help manage the inbound—and negotiate for Khan.
'It's been the craziest s— I've ever seen in my entire life. So we've been leaning into it,' Vial said. 'I'm here as a layer for him to be able to do his thing, and let's make some money off of it, and he's getting compensated.'
If McNeese pulls off the upset, the price is only going up.
Khan has been lugging a boom box through the tunnel before Cowboys games since he joined the team in 2023. He had no idea the February moment had hit it big—getting picked up by a series of progressively larger outlets like an ocean food chain diorama—until his cousins told him he was on Barstool Sports' site.
'That's when I got the idea that this was bigger than I thought,' Khan said.
He's still hoping to collaborate with Under Armour or Nike.
Khan initially applied for the role after hearing that Will Wade was taking over as coach. Before joining McNeese, Wade led LSU—two hours east of Lake Charles—until he got the boot in March 2022 amid allegations of recruiting violations. Wade has been 'extremely supportive' of Khan embracing his newfound opportunities, Khan said.
So have Khan's parents, who signed up for nearly every social media site to see the posts tracking their son.
Now, Wade is reportedly on the cusp of jumping to North Carolina State. Khan, meanwhile, is set to graduate later this year, with aspirations of becoming a coach himself. For now though, they and the rest of their Cowboy posse will try to make the most of their shining moment. The brand sponsors hustling to join the crew hope the ride is just getting started.
'The value of this collaboration only increases the further that McNeese advances,' TickPick content strategy lead Kyle Zorn said. 'We are rooting for McNeese.'

BYU's AJ Dybantsa Becomes College Basketball's Top NIL Earner

BYU's AJ Dybantsa Becomes College Basketball's Top NIL Earner originally appeared on Athlon Sports. BYU's AJ Dybantsa is already turning heads before the 2025-26 college basketball season. As the No. 1 player in the country, he's already projected as the top pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. But his moves off the court are just as good. Advertisement Dybantsa saw a significant jump in his On3 NIL valuation recently. He moved up to $4.1 million and cracked the top five for the first time in his career. As it stands now, the 6-foot-9 power forward is only $200K away from Miami QB Carson Beck at No. 2 ($4.3M) and $100K from Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith ($4.2M). Arch Manning is firmly at the top with a valuation of $6.8 million. However, Dybantsa is the top college basketball earner after landing deals with Nike and Red Bull. Dybantsa is on a contract with BYU to receive over $7 million this season, according to Adam Zagoria of the New York Times. An NIL offering he denied at the McDonald's All-American Game. Cowboys' $97 million man targeting Week 1 return after 2 years of injuries

Cowboys' $97 million man targeting Week 1 return after 2 years of injuries After tearing his ACL last season, Diggs has his sights set on returning for the season opener. Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, who missed the final six games last season after undergoing surgery to repair a knee injury, has his sights set on returning Week 1 vs the Philadelphia Eagles, according to reporter Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News. While the All-Pro is hoping to follow through on his first major goal of the upcoming 2025 season, it will ultimately come down to how well he progresses during training camp. Dallas signed Diggs to a five-year, $97 million extension heading into the 2023 season, but he hasn't played much since then. The former 2020 second-round pick has battled through the injury bug and has missed plenty of football, 21 games to be exact, over the past two seasons, most notably in 2023 after a gruesome ACL tear suffered during a September practice sidelined him for 15 games. Before the injuries came into the picture, Diggs had firmly established himself as one of the NFL's premier playmakers on the back end. His ability to take away a side of the field, bait quarterbacks into mistakes, and create game-changing turnovers made him a centerpiece of Dallas' defense and a massive piece to replace once he went down. Now under new defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, the Cowboys will be eager to see Diggs back in the fold as well as hope to see Diggs and fellow All-Pro teammate DaRon Bland see plenty of action on the field at the same time.

PSG's Lee pleads with S. Korea boo boys to back team at World Cup

Paris Saint-Germain's Lee Kang-in has pleaded with South Korea fans to get behind the team at the World Cup after more boos were aimed at coach Hong Myung-bo despite leading them to qualification. South Korea reached next year's finals in North America without losing a game but that does not tell the whole story. Advertisement The country's football association has been in the firing line, having scrambled about to find a successor after sacking the unpopular Jurgen Klinsmann in February last year. They eventually settled on Hong, the decorated former skipper who had an unsuccessful stint as coach in 2013-2014, during which they went out in the group phase of the World Cup in Brazil. The 56-year-old's return a decade later and the way the Korea Football Association (KFA) went about the dragged-out recruitment process went down badly with fans. He was booed in his first game back and the jeers continued on Tuesday even as the hosts celebrated qualification for 2026 with a convincing 4-0 win over Kuwait in Seoul. Advertisement "There are people out there attacking and criticising our head coach and the KFA," the PSG midfielder Lee, who was on the scoresheet, told reporters. "But since we players are also part of the federation and the coach is our boss, people's criticism also affects us if they get out of hand. "I'd like to ask people to see the more positive side of our team. That will help us play better at the World Cup. "I hope people will help us and keep supporting us." Hong has won six and drawn four of his 10 matches in his second spell but performances have not always been convincing. Advertisement With skipper Son Heung-min struggling for form and fitness, South Korea passed up the chance to seal qualification sooner with 1-1 home draws against Jordan and Oman in March. That came after a similarly flat 1-1 draw with Palestine in Amman, Jordan. bur-pst/sco
