The Houston Texans are exactly five weeks away away from kicking off the 2025 season in Los Angeles against the Rams at SoFi Stadium and we're counting down the days until a victory ensues on the West Coast.
Texans Wire will daily inform you which player has worn the number of the day leading up to kickoff and select the player who best represented the number during their time at NRG Stadium. As for today, let's take a look at who has worn No. 35 since the inaugural season in 2002.
Texans players to wear No. 35
No. 35 currently belongs to veteran linebacker Jaken Hansen. Mostly known for special teams, Hansen does provide decent depth value and could become a staple for Houston's punt and kickoff coverage this upcoming fall, though he also has competiton with the arrival of special teams ace Nick Niemann.
iOver the past three seasons, Hansen has recorded 65 total tackles and started on nearly every special teams system. This offseson, he agreed to terms on a one-year deal to remain in Houston for the impending year.
Best Player: Eddie Pleasant
A longtime special teams standout, Pleasant added depth in the secondary and was a well-respected gunner on punt and kickoff coverage. He recorded over 100 tackles and served as a leader in the locker room under Bill O'Brien's regime.
There's not much to talk about when mentioning his on-field play as a defender, but few Texans have made as big an impact as Pleasant on special teams all-time.
