A man in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur district was forced to apologise at a temple after members of the Bajrang Dal accused him of making derogatory comments about Lord Ram on social media. The man, identified as Yasin, was allegedly taken from his home by the group and escorted to a local Hanuman temple, where he was made to apply a tilak on his forehead and seek forgiveness before the incident took place in the Verma Chauraha area of the city. Yasin, a resident of Ahmedganj, reportedly posted an objectionable comment on Instagram targeting Lord Ram, which sparked outrage among Bajrang Dal activists. Upon identifying his residence, a group of members visited his home and demanded he accompany them to a temple to publicly unwilling, Yasin was reportedly persuaded by his wife Nagma to comply. According to Bajrang Dal member Harshit, a confrontation broke out when Yasin allegedly attacked him with a knife concealed in his trousers, injuring him in the thigh. The situation escalated briefly before his wife intervened and convinced Yasin to go to the temple with the group. There, at the Verma Chauraha Hanuman temple, Yasin was made to apologise for his remarks and promised not to repeat such actions. He was released after the apology. Must Watch

Surat: The Kapodra police arrested history-sheeter Kirti Patel (Kirti Adalja) who was absconding in Rs 2 crore extortion case for a year. Even as she was elusive for police, Patel was giving public appearances and uploading several videos on her Instagram account. DCP (zone-1) Alok Kumar said: "Kirti and six others had honey-trapped a Surat-based builder on June 2, 2024. She kept changing locations, mobile phones, and sim cards. We we traced her to the Sarkhej police station area in Ahmedabad and caught her from a house. The offence was was registered against Kirti, Vijay Savani, Zakir, Janvi alias Manisha Goswami, and three unnamed people on June 2 last year based on victim Vaju Katrodiya's complaint. Katrodiya had filed complaints against Savani in the past over property disputes. When their case was about to come on board, Savani allegedly started defaming Katrodiya with Kirti's help over social media. According to the FIR, Zakir Pathan called Katrodiya and offered to mediate in the issue. He called Katrodiya to a farmhouse where Janvi was present. They made Katrodiya drink liquor and took objectionable pictures with Janvi. These pictures were later used by Kirti to defame Katrodiya. Kirti has gained notoreity for abusive posts on social media and threatening people. At least 10 FIRs have been filed against her in various police stations across Gujarat. She was booked by Puna police for attempted murder in 2020. She is accused of extortion in Ahmedabad's Vastrapur police station. Gandhinagar, Patan, Junagadh, and Surat rural police have booked her in the past for prohibition, criminal intimidation, assault and others.

Kanpur: A man was arrested by Govindnagar police near Nai Basti in the Kotwali area of Jhansi on Monday night for raping a minor girl after concealing his identity. The girl had filed a report against the accused on Sunday. The police presented the accused in court on Tuesday, from where he was sent to jail. According to the complaint filed by the 17-year-old girl, a BBA student, she met the accused through Instagram. They exchanged phone numbers and started chatting on WhatsApp. Subsequently, he asked her to send her videos which he edited and started blackmailing her. On March 24, a man claiming to be a friend of accused took her to a hotel on the pretext of meeting the accused. At the hotel, he gave the girl sedatives in a drink and assaulted her. He also made a video if the incident. The girl said that on May 26 the accused again asked her to meet. When she refused, he came to her locality with another man in an auto on the next day. While she was on her way to college, he stopped her, slapped her multiple and forcibly took her in the auto to a hotel where he assaulted her. Her friends saw her being taken in the auto informed her cousin. The girl later filed a complaint with the Govindnagar police. Inspector Pradeep Singh of Govindnagar stated that the accused was arrested from his home in Jhansi in the late night hours of Monday and sent to jail on Tuesday.
