‘Spy' YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra's judicial remand extended by fortnight
A Hisar court on Monday extended the judicial custody of YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who is under investigation for alleged espionage links with Pakistan, by a fortnight. The next date of hearing is June 23.
On May 26, Jyoti was sent to 14-day judicial custody by the court.
Her lawyer, Kumar Mukesh, said Jyoti joined court proceedings virtually and her judicial custody was extended by 14 days. 'We will file for regular bail soon,' he said.
According to prison officials, Jyoti spends most of the day reading books in the jail library.
Earlier, Hisar police spokesman Vikas Kumar said the forensic report of Jyoti's mobile phones had revealed crucial evidence. 'Police have recovered over 12TB of digital data from her three phones and a laptop. The forensic analysis shows one-on-one chats with four individuals categorised as Pakistani intelligence operatives, suspected money trails, and evidence of VIP treatment received during her trip to Pakistan. We are examining the digital data,' the spokesman said.
Travel blogger Jyoti, 33, a resident of Hisar, was arrested on May 16 for allegedly sharing sensitive information with Pakistani operatives. The next day, she was produced before a local court, which sent her in five-day police custody. As her remand ended on May 21, she was produced in court the next day and sent to four-day police remand.
She has been booked under Sections 3 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act and Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The Faridabad police Sunday arrested an 18-year-old after her speeding SUV allegedly hit a traffic police interceptor vehicle on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near the Badoli Bridge, injuring two police personnel and damaging equipment. A home guard was thrown off the bridge onto the service road approximately 25 feet below, said the police. The accident occurred around 8.15 am during a routine check and the police personnel were handing out challans to those overspending. According to the complaint filed by Traffic Constable Deepak, 25, the interceptor vehicle, a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, was parked on the side of the expressway in accordance with the rules. Assistant Sub Inspector Narendra, 42, and Home Guard Deepak, 35, were also part of the team operating the interceptor when a green Mahindra Scorpio, driven by the accused, Kritika Garg, allegedly collided with the rear of their vehicle at high speed. Home Guard Deepak was flung off the bridge due to the impact of the collision, as per the complaint. The Scorpio's tyre burst after the collision, causing it to stop at the scene, and Garg provided her name and address when questioned, said the police. The impact severely damaged the interceptor's equipment, including an overspeed machine, laser DVR, battery monitor, printer, camera controller, and LED screen. Constable Deepak and Home Guard Deepak sustained serious injuries and were admitted to Sarvodaya Hospital. Home Guard Deepak's condition was critical, leading to his transfer to the intensive care unit, where doctors declared him unfit to give a statement. The complaint attributed the accident to Garg's negligent and high-speed driving, which, according to the police, obstructed government work. The police filed an FIR at the BPTP police station under sections 281, 125(A), 125(B), 324(4), 221, and 132 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), citing rash driving, causing hurt by negligence, mischief causing damage, obstructing a public servant, and assault to deter a public servant. 'The accused, Kritika Garg, stays in Sector 28 in Faridabad and was driving at over 100 km per hour when she lost control and hit the home guard. Constable Deepak also sustained injuries but is stable, while ASI Narender was treated for minor bruises. The accused was returning from a gaming parlour in Sector 12 and heading to Sector 86 with four of her friends on a joyride of sorts to celebrate clearing their Class 12 exams,' Station House Officer Inspector Arvind Kumar said. He added that she was released on station bail, and the car was registered in the name of her father, Manoj Kumar.

Man arrested for ‘anti-India' social media posts in HP's Paonta Sahib
A man was arrested for his social media posts allegedly endangered India's sovereignty, unity, and integrity, Himachal Pradesh Police said on Monday. Police arrested Suleman, a migrant from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh who lived in Khadda Colony of Badripur tehsil in Paonta Sahib, on Sunday after a tip-off from locals that he was back in town. He had disappeared for a few days after a case was registered against him on May 27. Local residents of Paonta Sahib had lodged a complaint against the man, a vegetable vendor, stating that he had posted anti-India content and criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi over actions taken against Pakistan. His posts hurt religious feelings and used anti-national language tantamount to serious acts of sedition, the complaint added. After police registered the case, he disappeared and came back to Paonta Sahib on Sunday and was then arrested following a tip-off from the locals. Sirmaur SP Nischit Singh Negi said that it was the first case of its type in the district as the FIR was registered under Section 152 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Bilawal Bhutto-led Pakistani delegation in London for diplomatic outreach
A Pakistani delegation led by former Pakistan Foreign Minister and chairman of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari arrived in London on Sunday (June 9, 2025) night from Washington, as part of Islamabad's diplomatic outreach following recent hostilities between India and Pakistan. Islamabad's diplomatic exercise, comprising two delegations, was announced after New Delhi announced that it would send seven delegations to world capitals to convey its outrage on the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam in which 26 civilians, almost all Indian men, were shot dead by terrorists. India has also sought to explain 'Operation Sindoor', its retaliatory strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and the consequent armed conflict between the two countries. Both countries' delegations had overlapped last week in Washington. Pakistan is seeking international involvement in the conflict and a reversal of India's decision to hold the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 in abeyance. The Pakistani delegation in London included three other former foreign ministers: Jalil Abbas Jilani, Khuran Dastagir Khan (Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz or PML-N) and Hina Rabbani Khar (PPP). It also included PPP vice-chair Sherry Rehman (PPP), Climate minister Musadik Masoor Malik (PML-N) and Adeel Mumtaz who directs the India desk at the Pakistani foreign ministry. Mr Lammy remarks in a May 17 Reuters interview from Islamabad, in which he had said the U.K. and U.S. were working on an enduring ceasefire in the region, had raised eyebrows in New Delhi.
