WINNER
Reform Social & Grill
10 best family restaurants in Dubai (Credit: Reform Social & Grill)
Officially the best family-friendly restaurant in Dubai for 2025, Reform is always buzzing, not least because of the number of activities and deals it runs. From parent and baby sessions to happy hours and family brunches, there's always a good reason to return.
The food is tasty – especially the belly-busting breakfasts – and kids will be happy with their choice. The pub garden is also excellent.
Expect an upgraded play area with slides and a climbing frame and plenty of green space to kick a ball or run around. It's dog-friendly too, so the entire family can come along for an afternoon out, truly making it one of the best family restaurants in Dubai.

The Byron Bathers Club
10 best family restaurants in Dubai (Credit: The Byron Bathers Club)
Coming from the team behind Common Grounds and Tom & Serg, this place knows how to cater to families.
With a swimming pool to dip into (with a minimum spend you can get a lounger and pool access) as well as the beach to play on and a beach playground area with swings and a climbing frame, the kids will be occupied for hours.
Food ranges from grills and seafood selections to pizzas, burgers and fish and chips so all bases are covered there. It's chic too – all blues, whites and neutral tones – as well as being licensed, so parents will be as happy as the kids.

Twiggy Family
10 best family restaurants in Dubai (Credit: Twiggy Family)
The younger sister of Twiggy Dubai, this second lagoon pool at Park Hyatt Dubai is about as chic as they come when it comes to family-friendly beach clubs.
With views over the Creek, yachts and Dubai skyline beyond, it's a picture-perfect spot and the lagoon pool itself is stunning too. With sugar-soft sand and comfy loungers, plus a splash pad for the kids and plenty of pool toys, it has all the holiday feels.
The cover charge is non-redeemable, but there's an a la carte menu of salads, pasta, pizza and more for when you and the gang get peckish – and as you'd expect from Twiggy the food quality is high.

Bread Street Kitchen
Gordon Ramsay's family-friendly restaurant at Atlantis The Palm focuses on modern British cuisine. Crowd pleasers like prawn cocktail, Caesar salad, sirloin steak, fish & chips, butter chicken curry and a classic burger satisfy people of all ages, while there is a dedicated kids' menu too – the mac 'n cheese being an absolute belter.
Bread Street Kitchen weaves the perfect line between being casual enough for a weekday supper or Sunday roast, to being impressive enough for a special birthday celebration or family gathering. Take the whole gang and bag a table on the outdoor terrace while it's cool enough.

Limonata
10 best family restaurants in Dubai (Credit: Limonata)
Limonata can be found at the end of Club Vista Mare and is a cute spot for a day out on the sand with the family.
With bright yellow and white striped sunloungers, including mini ones for the little ones, a petite kids' play area and plenty of beach to run around on, it's our top choice for a relaxed meal.
Expect classic Italian dishes – pizza, pasta, calzone, salad, etc – as well as gelato and traditional desserts, so order a bunch of dishes and share.
There are also kids' activities and a live singer at the weekends and it's full of happy families getting stuck into homely dishes on a sunny day out.

Maison Mathis
10 best family restaurants in Dubai (Credit: Maison Mathis)
A stalwart when it comes to dining out with the kids, especially for those who live in Arabian Ranches and the surrounding area, Maison Mathis is a community-style hangout that is consistently good.
There's a small outdoor play area with a slide and climbing frame, while a variety of deals, including roasts and happy hours, keep families coming back time and again.
The menu covers the full gamut from tacos to croquettes, sliders to escargot, burgers, pizzas, grills, salads and beyond, so even the fussiest of eaters are well catered for here, which is why it's one of the best family restaurants in Dubai for 2025.

Peaches & Cream
10 best family restaurants in Dubai (Credit: Peaches & Cream)
One of several family-friendly beach clubs along the Shoreline on Palm Jumeirah, Peaches & Cream caters to families very well. There's a swimming pool and beach area, which are accessible with a minimum spend on food and drink, making it one of the best family-friendly restaurants in the city.
It's casual and relaxed, so you won't feel uncomfortable if your offspring isn't showing their best side, although they'll soon be distracted by splashing around and digging into burgers, chips, pizza et al.

The Duck Hook
10 best family restaurants in Dubai (Credit: The Duck Hook)
When the weekend rolls round you'll find this pub garden in Dubai Hills absolutely heaving. With picnic benches dotted around the expansive lawn, it's a popular place for families in the area – and further afield. There's plenty of grassy space for kids (and dogs) to run around and work up an appetite, while if you have visitors in town it ticks all the boxes for Burj Khalifa views.
The menu is a proper pub grub situation and the roasts are the major draw, with ginormous Yorkshire puds and lashings of gravy, while kids' meals include the usual pizza, chicken tenders and bangers and mash.

The Irish Village
10 best family restaurants in Dubai (Credit: The Irish Village, Garhoud)
The Irish Village may be best known for its pints of the black stuff, live music and proper pub grub, but it's also one of the best family restaurants in Dubai. The OG branch in Garhoud is much loved by families all over town and at the weekends you'll see groups flocking here to enjoy the brilliant pub garden and hearty portions.
When it comes to food, everyone will be happy, with sandwiches, burgers, curries, fish and chips and more, while the duck pond and grassy lawn make for a taste of Ireland. At weekends there are often activities for the kids, too, so it's a hit with all ages.

Wavehouse
10 best family restaurants in Dubai Credit: Wavehouse
Split into several sections Wavehouse is many things to many people. But ultimately it's a place where families with kids of all ages can get stuck into the fun.
Whether you have teens that want to bowl, tweens that want to get competitive on the arcades or little ones ready to explore the soft play there's heaps to entertain you (and parents too).
The food is solid family-friendly fare – think sliders, pizzas, salads and more, with a decent choice for kids, too. By night the outside terrace hosts live music and there's a definite holiday feel with plenty of kids around, so you won't feel out of place heading here as a fam after dark.

'This Edinburgh restaurant's lasagne is on another level'

In Spring 2025, Brett and his team officially opened Ondine at Seaton House in St Andrews, a brand-new luxury 5-star hotel overlooking the West Sands and the famous Old Course. The hotel has also recently launched 'Sundays at Seaton House', serving an exclusive three-course Sunday lunch menu at Ondine Oyster & Grill while live music fills the Bow Butts bar space. This week, Brett takes on our chef Q&A: What was your first kitchen job? My first kitchen job was washing dishes in the evenings after school. Where is your favourite place to eat out? Padstow Kitchen Garden in Cornwall. My dear friend and chef/farmer cooks incredible lunches and dinners from his barns in Padstow. We enjoyed the best Lobster ever cooked over coals on a Green Egg overlooking the camel Estuary. The vegetables and salad were picked and prepared all from his garden – incredible! What is your guilty pleasure meal? The Beef Shin Lasagne at Aemilia in Portobello in Edinburgh is on another level. Kip and Giada make the best Artisan produce around. Can you share a memory of your worst kitchen disaster? There are far too many to mention. What is your signature dish? It would have to be our very own Ondine's Hot Roasted Shellfish Platter, White Wine Garlic and Parsley Broth. It has been on the menu now for over 18 years, inspired by Mark Hix and Rick Stein. Who would you say is your biggest inspiration? It would have to be the late Ken McCulloch. His attention to detail, high standards and genuine love for hospitality inspired generations. He was always immaculate, very demanding yet always rewarding. A great man. Read more: What is one of your pet peeves working as a chef? It would have to be missing out on quality family time. If you weren't a chef, what do you think you'd be doing with your life? Hopefully retired! What's your favourite trick for making cooking at home easier? Batch cooking and always being prepared for the week ahead. Preparing food that can be eaten hot or cold. What has been the one highlight that stands out in your career so far? There have been many highlights over the last four decades. I have been lucky enough to work with many inspirational leaders. Working with the Stein family was very rewarding, as was working under Mark Hix at Le Caprice in London, which was also very special. Yet opening Ondine in Edinburgh was the one.

Best budget restaurants in Dubai 2025: 10 cheap spots to try next

While it may be a widely-held assumption, the best restaurants in Dubai don't have to be expensive. If anything, Dubai's affordable eateries can play host to some of the finest and most rewarding meals you'll have. The best budget restaurant in Dubai 2025 WINNER Dampa Seafood Grill Nothing could dampen (ahem) the passion Dampa has for delivering its legendary Filipino seafood to the masses. After a fire caused the Deira restaurant to close in 2023, it reopened in February 2024 and quickly re-established its vibrant energy. With a menu crammed with all manner of catch, from whole grilled squid to baked mussels, your best bet is to try it all with the signature seafood dump. At just Dhs176 and enough for three people, watch as the freshest haul is pretty much chucked on the table in front of you, sauce and all (top tip: go for the Cajun). Tuck in with your hands and devour the lot. The more mess the better. Time Out Dubai reviewers say: 'Sweet, smoky, fragrant marinade gets into the crevices of every single bite – and likely your hands, elbows and anything else that happens to be exposed. This is no fuss, plenty of mess dining – and it's one of those Dubai meals everyone needs to have had at least once' Check out our full Dampa Seafood Grill review here Unlicensed. Baniyas Road, Port Saeed @dampaseafoodgrill (04 299 0884). Highly commended Calicut Paragon Credit: Calicut Paragon If authentic Keralan cooking, packed full of flavour and spice, is what you're searching for, Calicut Paragon is for you. An excellent Indian restaurant specialising in Southern Indian cuisine, this has been one of the best budget restaurants in Dubai for many years, and one of the top Indian restaurants in town, too. With dishes that sing with spice, dig into chicken Malabari, fish tikka, moilee, masala mushrooms and more, all served with piping hot naan. Time Out Dubai reviewers say: 'While there are plenty of meat and vegetarian dishes, it's seafood that reigns supreme at Calicut Paragon. And, for us, the crab tushar takes the crown for the best.' Check out our full Calicut Paragon review here Open daily, 7am-midnight. Unlicensed. Karama, @‌calicutparagon (04 335 8700). San Wan Hand Pulled Noodles Credit: San Wan Hand Pulled Noodles Having opened in JLT in 2023, tucked away in an unassuming corner of Cluster F, right next to Asian Street by Thai, San Wan Hand Pulled Noodles popularity has rocketed into it claiming the title of the best budget restaurant in Dubai, hands down. Service is friendly and there's a concise menu of Northern Chinese classics that you don't want to miss. Serving affordable, authentic Shaanxi cuisine, the main order here is, as the name suggests, those deliciously moreish noodles – which you can watch the chefs pulling in the kitchen. The chicken wontons are a must-try too. In short, don't miss it – it's a mighty find in a low-key location. Time Out Dubai reviewers say: 'San Wan is a real neighbourhood place with character and style, and delivers on what a lot of places promise in Dubai, but don't always come through on. Great food, fantastic value. One of the best budget eateries in town.' Check out our full San Wan Hand Pulled Noodles review here Open daily, noon-10.30pm. Unlicensed. Cluster F, JLT, @‌ (050 759 9584). Shortlisted Allo Beirut Credit: Allo Beirut This budget chain has become so popular that there are now branches across the city, but our favourite is still the OG version along Hessa Street. You can't fail to miss it – sprawling along the side of the busy road with its brightly lit dining room, neon signs and rows of cars parked outside morning, noon and night. Dig into pocket-friendly shawarma, laden with punchy garlic sauce, enveloped in fresh, floury saj bread, or opt for a mixed grill and pots of hummus for a filling treat that won't hurt your wallet. It's open 24 hours, too. Time Out Dubai reviewers say: 'Inside, it's industrial-meets-homely, exposed ceilings and open kitchens juxtaposed against trinket-adorned walls. At one end, watch a team of bakers toast fresh saj on a dome and sling manakish into a brick oven. At the other, chefs form falafel rings at speed and shave hot, sliced meats from two towering shawarma skewers.' Check out our full Allo Beirut review here Open 24-hours. Unlicensed. Hessa Street, (800 8263 4788). Betawi Credit: Betawi Indonesian chefs are celebrating their heritage and cuisine at long-standing eatery Betawi (it first opened in Karama in 2007), one of the best budget restaurants in Dubai. Traditional dishes are cooked with flair and served at exceptional value, with most main courses coming in around the Dhs60 mark. Think nasi padang, bebek kremes, seafood laksa, mie goreng, ayam geprek and udang bakar, served with signature sambals. Not afraid of a bit of spice, this is a restaurant that is both true to its roots and committed to offering its customers a very affordable dining experience. Expect to see groups of friends packed onto the terrace, soaking up the views and the vibes. Time Out Dubai reviewers say: 'Go for the nasi goreng or nasi padang and prepare for mouthfuls of spice and punchy, aromatic flavours. It's authentic and delicious. Portion sizes are generous, the décor is basic and staff are always helpful.' Check out our full Betawi review here Unlicensed. Lake Terrace Tower, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, @ (04 454 2329). Dhaba Lane Credit: Dhaba Lane A budget, Indian street food-style eatery in JLT, Dhaba Lane has been delighting savvy diners with its moreish curries since 2017. Serving traditional dishes from Punjab to Delhi, Calcutta and beyond, there are plenty of regional flavours to try here. It serves traditional plates with a modern twist, all at prices that won't make your eyes water. The interiors are cute and the spices are punchy, check out curries, chaat, biryanis and beyond. Open daily, noon-3.30pm, 6.30pm-midnight. Unlicensed. Cluster D, JLT, dhaba-lane (054 999 4251). Dukkan El Baba Credit: Dukkan El Baba For homely, comforting Lebanese bites at affordable pricing, Dukkan El Baba is one of the best place for cheap eats in Dubai. A cute, low-key spot that opened in early 2023, Dukkan El Baba has a regular menu plus regular specials and dishes of the day – meaning you can make repeat visits and always try something different. The menu is a mix of hot, cold and saucy. Some of our favourites are Lebanese vine leaves, stuffed courgette, aubergine fatteh, chicken shish tawook and delicious shawarma. Don't miss it if you want terrific Lebanese food, for less. Time Out Dubai reviewers say: 'Shish barak swimming in laban tastes just like home and is served with buttery vermicelli rice, while stuffed cabbage is larger than your usual (almost burrito-sized) and will make a big dent in your appetite. By the end of the meal, you'll have filled your belly to the brim without doing much harm to your wallet.' Check out our full Dukkan El Baba review here Open daily, 9am-1am. Unlicensed. Barsha Heights, @‌dukka_el_baba (04 344 0140). Hanoi Naturally Credit: Hanoi Naturally This healthy Asian restaurant is a go-to spot for Vietnamese cuisine in Dubai. And the best news is it's also one of the best budget restaurants in Dubai. Found in JLT, where you'll discover many of the best authentic, pocket-friendly eateries in town, Hanoi Naturally is a popular place for those who want to tuck into healthy dishes, for less. Enjoy salads, phos and more, all using delicious, fresh ingredients at prices that will make you return time and again. Time Out Dubai reviewers say: 'Absolutely unmissable is a bowl of pho – whether chicken, beef or vegetable. Slurping up this fragrant, brothy noodle soup is one of the best comfort food experiences in town. Other classics include bun noodle dishes and crunchy salads packed with julienned papaya, carrots and punchy fish sauce.' Check out our full Hanoi Naturally review here Open daily, 11.30am-10.30pm. Credit: Mama'esh Mama'esh is one of the best budget restaurants in Dubai and one that we can't get enough of. A Palestinian restaurant that has spread to various locations throughout the city, the food is excellent and authentic wherever you go. For a cute date night or lunch out with the family, head to the Al Manara branch for charming décor and a delightful little terrace. Dig into freshly baked manakish laden with gooey, molten cheese, or Palestinian hummus and spinach fatayer. The breakfast platters are ace, and for traditional Palestinian food, there's no better place in Dubai. Time Out Dubai reviewers say: 'Mama'esh bakes with organic flour only and the quality in its ingredients sing with the larger-than-life mama'esh. With prices averaging between Dhs9 to Dhs18 per manoushe or Dhs15 to Dhs29 for fatayer, you can fill up here even when payday has long been and gone.' Check out our full Mama'esh review here Open daily, 7am-1am (Fri, 7am-1.15pm, 1.45pm-1m) Unlicensed. Al Manara, (600 548 287). The Little Bali Credit: The Little Bali Another cracking affordable eatery in JLT – for authentic Balinese cuisine there's nowhere better in Dubai than The Little Bali. With budget plates that are bursting with flavour, the menu is traditional with top choices such as ayam taliwang (grilled chicken with lalapan, rice and sambal taliwang) and ikan goreng (crispy tilapia in a choice of sauces). You can also find more unusual meats such as oxtail and camel on the menu too. Don't miss the nasi goreng and satay sampler platter for classics done well. You can find 400 whiskeys from around the world at this new bar in Williamsburg

Do you prefer your whiskey on the rocks? Or is a shaken Whiskey Sour more of your speed? Well, Williamsburg's latest bar is here to please, however you like to ' handle your brown." As of July 12, Foolproof opened its doors on 476 Driggs Avenue. Andy Lock, previously of The Lobster Club and the now-closed Gotham Bar & Grill, is the maestro behind the bar and its bold selection of spirits, with whiskeys tipping over 400 bottles deep. As intimidating as the number may be, Lock's whiskey haven is here to welcome all who wish to sip and swill. 'Foolproof is the kind of bar I've wanted to open for years,' said Lock in a press release. 'We take the whiskey seriously—but never ourselves. This is a place to drink well with an extensive list of options, eat well, and actually have fun doing it." Whiskey lovers will surely be drawn to the glow of the handsome wooden bar, with its hundreds of glittering bottles that climb up to the ceiling. And yet, Foolproof's handmade wooden tables and chairs, plus a few plush booths, are sure to be the spot for casual conversation while perusing through the book of spirits. American whiskies dominate with six pages dedicated to the fermented grain. However, the list hawks plenty of Irish and Japanese varieties, as well as selections from lesser-known areas, including Austria, India and South Korea, ready to sample by the glass, flight or boilermaker. If you'd rather have a cocktail, they've got "Foolproof Classics,'"including barrel-aged Manhattans and Old Fashioneds, plus Highballs and Boulevardiers. There's a reserve cocktail list that includes an Old Fashioned stirred with black truffle-infused Prunier VSOP Grande Champagne cognac and an Extra Añejo Espresso Martini. Yet Foolproof includes all drinkers, as the bar comes full stocked with beer, wine and a handful of no-proof tipples. Lock's other philosophy also rings true here: good whiskey deserves good food. Better bar bites include a Relish Tray with an assortment of house-made pickles and tapenade and sashimi-grade tartare, including one that uses a whiskey-cured salmon. There are heartier sandwiches that use house-cured portobello and pastrami plus a veggie-friendly "burrata". And when you are ready for a nightcap, you can actually turn to the dessert menu for salted caramel whiskey ice cream.
