India Ltd.'s manufacturing facility in Manesar, Haryana. The terminal marks a major milestone under the government's Gati Shakti initiative aimed at boosting integrated and efficient logistics infrastructure.
Connected to Patli railway station through a dedicated 10-km rail link, the terminal forms part of the 121.7-km-long Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor being developed by the Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (HRIDC). The project has been built at a total cost of ₹800 crore, with HRIDC contributing ₹684 crore and Maruti Suzuki funding the remainder.

Speaking at the launch, Minister Vaishnaw highlighted the transformation in Indian Railways over the past decade. 'Before 2014, the annual railway budget was around ₹25,000 crore. Today, it stands at ₹2.5 lakh crore,' he said, adding that over 1,200 general coaches were added in the last year alone.
The minister announced plans to upgrade over 100 MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) trains to 16–20 coaches to cater to rising short-distance passenger demand. A new MEMU manufacturing facility has also been commissioned in Kazipet, Andhra Pradesh.
Vaishnaw shared Indian Railways' impressive performance in FY 2023–24, transporting 720 crore passengers and 1,617 million tonnes of freight—making India the second-largest freight rail network in the world.
In a significant change for passengers, the minister announced that from July 1, Tatkal ticket bookings during the first 30 minutes of the window will be restricted to Aadhaar-authenticated and KYC-verified users.
Other ongoing reforms include a pilot project in Bikaner Division where reservation charts are prepared 24 hours in advance, compared to the current four-hour window.
Vaishnaw also spoke about expanding rail services, noting that three Amrit Bharat trains are operational, with six more to be launched soon. Production of 50 additional trains is underway.
Focusing on Haryana's rail infrastructure development, he said the state's railway budget allocation has increased from ₹300 crore in 2014 to ₹3,416 crore in 2024. 'In the last 11 years, 823 km of new rail lines have been built and 100% of Haryana's railway network has been electrified,' he noted.
Currently, infrastructure projects worth ₹11,800 crore are being executed in the state, including redevelopment of 34 stations and construction of 540 road overbridges and underpasses.

Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Thursday directed officials to prepare a detailed report on the extensive damage caused to State and National Highways by recent heavy rains and floods. At a review meeting held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat, officials informed the Minister that losses to the tune of ₹1,000 crore were reported, with several culverts, minor bridges and stretches of highways severely damaged. Komatireddy asked engineers to record the structural life of each asset and submit proposals for reconstruction where necessary. Assuring that the government would provide durable, high-quality roads through the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), the Minister said tenders would be floated shortly and works would commence as soon as the monsoon recedes. He said he had already held discussions with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who had responded positively to the State's requests. Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju, who attended the meeting along with senior officials, submitted a representation seeking improvements to the Khanapur–Bellampalli and Utnoor–Gudiatnoor road stretches for which the Minister assured a favourable response.

Gadkari directs NHAI to speed up work on Dehu Road-Narhe elevated corridor
Pune: Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari recently directed the ministry and officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to expedite the process for the proposed elevated corridor along the Pune–Bengaluru Highway (NH-48) within PMC and PCMC limits. A senior NHAI official said Gadkari instructed them in a meeting on Aug 7. "The proposal will soon be placed before the Union cabinet. The minister has also asked us to simultaneously initiate tendering to avoid delay of the project once the cabinet nod is secured," the official said. The NHAI had prepared a detailed project report (DPR) for the corridor nearly four years ago. The 32-km stretch has been planned between Dehu Road and Narhe in two packages — Dehu Road to Pashan-Sus and Pashan-Sus to Narhe. "Earlier, the flyover under the first package was planned till Balewadi stadium. But considering requests from IT professionals of Hinjewadi and local residents, it was decided to extend it till Pashan-Sus," he said. "The legal dispute with the concessionaire is likely to be resolved soon," another NHAI official said. The elevated corridor is vital to ease congestion on the Pune–Bengaluru highway, which remains choked in the PMC and PCMC limits during peak hours. With rapid residential development along the stretch, the highway has become a crucial lifeline linking these areas to the rest of the city. The NHAI is also set to begin widening the service roads within the PCMC limits, expanding them from the existing 12 metres to 24 metres on both sides of the highway, after the monsoon.
