"Investment required (is) Rs 844 crore," it said. "It was approved by the Board of Directors of the company in its meeting held today i.e. June 23".
GAIL also said it has pushed back the completion scheme of its 1,702 km
Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda pipeline project
from June 30, 2025 to September 30, 2025.

This would require additional investment of Rs 411.12 crore, it said. "The project cost is anticipated to be increased by Rs 411.12 crore and therefore, the revised project cost for MNJPL is Rs 8,255.37 crore, which is 5.24 per cent higher than the originally approved project cost of Rs 7,844.25 crore."
The 693-km Mumbai-Nagpur section of the pipeline is mechanically complete except for a 1 km stretch. The 692-km Nagpur-Jharsuguda pipeline is 98 per cent mechanically completed.
"The pipeline laying work is affected due to delay in obtaining forest permission, NBWL clearance and Ministry of Road Transport and Highways permission along NH-44 in Maharashtra," it said.
The 317-km Nagpur-Jabalpur pipeline is 97 per cent mechanically completed. "The pipeline laying work is affected due to delay in acquisition of right of use (RoU), permanent land parcels for valve stations and local resistance."
"The entire Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda pipeline is expected to be completed progressively by September 2025," GAIL said.
GAIL said it has also revised the schedule for the 744-km Srikakulam-Angul pipeline project from June 2025 to December 2025.
"Entire mainline of 422 km has been mechanically completed and commissioning has been started. Out of 322 km (spur lines), lowering of 252 km has been completed. Further, work on the pipeline was affected due to delay in obtaining forest permission and till date, working permission of 45 km has been received out of total required permission of 56 km," it added.

Government hires two agencies to run 500 electric buses for 12 years
Noida: The long-pending plan to launch 500 electric buses across Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway areas has moved a step forward, with the UP's directorate of urban transport (DUT) opening the financial bids on Monday. Two private firms — Travel Time Mobility and Delbus Mobility — have been selected to operate the fleet of nine- and 12-metre-long e-buses under the gross cost contract (GCC) model. The e-bus fleet will include 250 nine-metre buses (28-passenger capacity) for feeder and intra-city transit and 250 12-metre buses (36-passenger capacity) on high-demand routes. The estimated total cost of the project is Rs 675 crore, which includes the purchase of 500 buses, charging infrastructure, operational logistics and service management. The selected agencies will now be considered for the final agreement once a joint special purpose vehicle (SPV) — comprising Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna authorities — is formed to oversee project implementation and negotiate final terms. "Noida Authority is in the process of forming a SPV to oversee project implementation," Noida CEO Lokesh M said. As per the request for proposal (RFP) floated by DUT in March, the 500 buses will be deployed across 25 routes — 15 in Noida, seven in Greater Noida and three in the YEIDA area. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Play Chess on Your PC, Free Play Classic Chess Install Now Undo Buses will ply at 10-15 minute intervals during peak hours and 15-20 minutes during off-peak times. Out of nine agencies that participated in the tender process floated in March, eight qualified for the financial round. Travel Time Mobility India emerged as the lowest bidder for operating nine-metre-long electric buses, quoting Rs 55 per kilometre (excluding GST), while Delbus Mobility offered the lowest rate of Rs 68 per kilometre for 12-metre-long buses. These rates were found to be the most competitive among the bids submitted by eight agencies in the tender process conducted by DUT. Several other firms, including Express Trans Coaches, Hansa Vahan and Aeroeagle Automobiles, quoted significantly higher rates. The SPV, once formally registered, will be responsible for overseeing the e-bus project for 12 years and ensuring an assured mileage of 72,000km per bus annually. As per the agreement, Noida Authority will lead the SPV and shoulder 48% of the project cost. Greater Noida Authority and YEIDA will each contribute 26%. The distribution of buses will reflect the same ratio: 300 buses for Noida, 100 each for Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway areas. The SPV will manage the fare system, while the operators will be paid on a per-kilometre basis. As per the RFP, each bus is meant to ply 200 km per day. However, in practice, buses may run 250-300 km daily. Officials said that fares are expected to generate Rs 135 crore annually, with another Rs 10 crore from advertising. However, despite total revenues of Rs 145 crore, projected expenses exceed Rs 370 crore, creating a funding gap of Rs 225–230 crore annually. Noida Authority's share of the viability gap funding (VGF), based on its 48% stake, comes to about Rs 107 crore per year, or Rs 1,290 crore over the contract's 12-year duration. Initially, buses will be operated from terminals located in Sector 82 and Sector 91. Noida Authority will handle the necessary infrastructure development. Within one year of the agreement, Greater Noida and YEIDA will each construct one bus depot, officials said.

Cybercrooks using gaming app lure to hire bank accounts, SIM cards
Panaji: An investigation into cybercrimes has revealed that fraudsters target youth to ostensibly hire their bank accounts and SIM cards, using gaming apps as an inducement, and then deploying the personal information for criminal activities. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Cyber fraudsters approach youth through social media and other platforms and persuade them to rent out their bank accounts and SIM cards to earn additional pocket money. 'Bank accounts and SIM cards of youth rented out to fraudsters are used in cheating cases. Youth should not give their sensitive information on rent as once their bank accounts and SIM cards are frozen by police, they become criminals by default,' SP cybercrime Rahul Gupta said. He added, 'Crypto-trading on Telegram groups is also attracting youth. Most of the illegal businesses in the cyber domain are running on Telegram.' Gupta said if youth provide bank accounts on rent, the fraudsters promise to provide commission based on the transactions. He said youth are also lured by cybercriminals with offers of task-based jobs. 'The backbone of cyber fraudsters is bank accounts and SIM cards. In some cases, they offer cheap loans to consumers and direct them to download the loan app,' Gupta said. 'They provide Rs 10,000 to the target, but once the app is downloaded, they take control of the phone and access all the contacts.' Gupta said, 'Once the contacts are accessed, fraudsters try to cheat them.' It was revealed that many youth between the ages of 20 and 25 are renting out their bank accounts but are not aware of the antecedents of the people who deposit money into their accounts. To act against the cyber fraudsters, state govt plans to set up an integrated cybersecurity solution lab for analysis, detection, and response to cyber threats and attacks, including malware, at an estimated cost of Rs 89.4 crore. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The National Forensic Sciences University Research and Innovation Council (NFSU-RIC), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, an institute under the Union ministry of home affairs, will serve as the implementation agency for the solutions. These include a Centre of Excellence in Cybersecurity and a lab for analysis, detection, and response to cyber threats and attacks.

JJM scam: ED files charges against Joshi, 17 others
Jaipur: Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a supplementary chargesheet in the multi-crore Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) case, naming former Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) minister Mahesh Joshi, his son Rohit Joshi, and 16 others as accused in a money laundering investigation. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The chargesheet or prosecution complaint, filed on June 20 under sections 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), includes several private companies and PHED engineers among the accused. Notable entities named in the chargesheet are M/S Shyam Tubewell, M/S Shri Ganpati Tubewell, and M/S Sumangalman Landmark. According to ED sources, investigators have uncovered a "deep-rooted corruption and money laundering" scheme where funds were allegedly channelled through Sanjay Badhaya, a close associate of the former minister. The agency has also claimed evidence linking money transfers to M/S Sumangalam Landmark, a company reportedly owned by Rohit Joshi. This marks the second chargesheet in the case, specifically naming private companies involved in pipeline laying, PHED engineers and the former minister and his son. The development follows Mahesh Joshi's arrest on April 24 for his alleged involvement in money laundering related to the JJM case. In a related action, the ED recently attached moveable and immovable properties worth Rs 47.80 crore belonging to several accused, including Padam Chand Jain, Mahesh Mittal, Sanjay Badaya, Vishal Saxena, Mahesh Joshi and their family members. The case continues to unfold as ED pursues what appears to be a complex web of financial transactions and alleged corruption in the implementation of JJM.
