Attorney General Pam Bondi insists more Jeffrey Epstein files are being released – despite disastrous ‘phase 1'
Attorney General Pam Bondi has again proclaimed that America will get 'the full' Jeffrey Epstein files after the highly-anticipated 'first phase' contained no major new allegations about the convicted sex offender nor his associates.
The nation's top law enforcement officer publicly released about 200 pages of files Thursday, including a series of flight logs from Esptein's private jet, a partly-redacted 'contacts list,' and a fully blacked-out list of 'masseuses.' Later Thursday, the U.S. Department of Justice accused the FBI of withholding 'thousands of pages' of Epstein documents, as Bondi wrote a letter to the bureau's newly-confirmed director Kash Patel demanding that all material related to the disgraced financier be turned over to her office by Friday morning.
On Saturday, Bondi told Fox News host Mark Levin that Americans will 'get the full Epstein files' thanks to Donald Trump being the 'most transparent president.'
'New York City SDNY (Southern District of New York), they're sitting on thousands of pages of documents regarding Epstein. Thousands, thousands. And of course, you've seen the very strong letter,' she said.
'We will get everything. We will have it in our possession. We will redact it, of course, to protect grand jury information and confidential witnesses. But the American people have a right to know. And Donald Trump is the most transparent president in our nation's history.'
Bondi also promised that documents surrounding the assassinations of former President John F Kennedy and civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King Jr will also be declassified.
'So not only will America get the full Epstein files, they will get JFK, they will get Martin Luther King,' she said.
The hyped declassification of 'all' of the Epstein documents was met with backlash from conservatives after Bondi teed up their release Wednesday and told Fox News that the details 'will make you sick.'
A cohort of MAGA influencers elaborately unveiled binders containing 'The Epstein Files: Phase 1' at the White House Thursday before the DoJ made the documents publicly available online.
Much of the material released was previously published material from the prosecution of Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's girlfriend and close confidant, two years after the disgraced financier took his own life while in a Manhattan jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on new charges of trafficking teenage girls.
Over the years, thousands of pages of records have been released through lawsuits, Epstein's criminal dockets, public disclosures and Freedom of Information Act requests.
In January 2024, a court unsealed the final batch of documents collected as evidence in a lawsuit filed by Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre.
'It was released in an unprofessional manner with paid, partisan social media influencers to curate their binders for us,' right-wing media pundit and conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer tweeted Thursday. 'I can't trust anything in the binder. Neither should you.'
Florida Representative Anna Paulina Luna, head of a new congressional task force to declassify 'federal secrets,' added: 'THIS IS NOT WHAT WE OR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ASKED FOR and a complete disappointment. GET US THE INFORMATION WE ASKED FOR!
Later Thursday, Bondi instructed Patel to conduct an 'immediate' investigation into the bureau's failure to deliver the 'full set' of the Epstein files and a two-week-long investigation launched into why her orders were not followed.
The FBI director took to X and wrote: 'There will be no cover-ups, no missing documents, and no stone left unturned — and anyone from the prior or current Bureau who undermines this will be swiftly pursued.
'If there are gaps, we will find them. If records have been hidden, we will uncover them.'

Federal officials have apprehended one of two detainees who were still missing after their escape from an immigration detention center in New Jersey last week, the FBI says. It wasn't immediately clear how Franklin Norberto Bautista Reyes was found. The search was ongoing Tuesday for another escaped detainee, Andres Felipe Pineda Mogollon. A $25,000 reward is being offered in the case. A total of four initially escaped Newark's Delaney Hall facility, where ICE has been holding individuals facing possible deportation, last Thursday. One was captured in Passaic on Saturday, by the FBI and ICE, and a second was taken into custody Sunday. Andres Pineda-Mogollon of Colombia overstayed a tourist visa and entered the U.S. in 2023, DHS says. He was arrested previously on local petty larceny and residential burglary charges. His last known address was in Newark, New Jersey, and he is known to have ties to Queens, New York. Investigators say the four inmates escaped by kicking a wall at Delaney Hall, a wall Newark Mayor Ras Baraka said the operator did not have a permit to build. New Jersey Sen. Andy Kim called the construction 'essentially just dry wall with some mesh inside that led to an exterior wall. It shows just how shoddy how construction was here.' The men ended up in a parking lot and hopped a fence. Kim says officials in charge of Delaney Hall are examining other walls that might be vulnerable. Delaney Hall made headlines in May after protests broke out at the 1,000-bed, privately owned facility. Democratic U.S. Rep. LaMonica McIver was charged in a criminal complaint with two assault counts stemming from a May 9 visit to the center. She was indicted on Tuesday; the indictment includes three counts of assaulting, resisting, impeding and interfering with federal officials. McIver's attorney, Paul Fishman, told NBC News the prosecution is politically motivated. At the same visit that resulted in McIver's charges, Mayor Baraka was arrested on a trespassing charge, which was later dropped. Baraka later filed a lawsuit against acting U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Alina Habba over what he said was a malicious prosecution. On Friday, New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker joined the chorus of local officials denouncing the conditions inside Delaney Hall, calling it 'a house of horrors.' Internet sleuths believed they spotted signs of the initial Israeli bombardment days earlier - by tracking activity at pizzerias near the huge government building. The Pentagon Pizza Report, an online group, noted a surge in orders at District Pizza Palace, a takeaway two miles from the Pentagon, the night before the attack. Around one hour before the bombing began at about 7pm on Thursday (local time), the group, which has 100,000 followers, wrote on X: "All nearby pizza establishments have experienced a HUGE surge in activity." For the group, it was confirmation of the long-held theory that global crises can be linked to an increase in takeaway orders for employees working late at the Pentagon. The White House has since said it knew about the bombardment in advance. He said: 'The deployment of Typhoons and other military assets the Prime Minister has announced are part of the moves to reinforce de-escalation in the region, to reinforce security in the region, and may also be used to help support our allies.' Elsewhere, Israel's ambassador to the UK, Tzipi Hotovely, told LBC her country is 'absolutely not' intending to institute regime change in Iran. 'We are in this military operation for one reason, to defend Israel, to defend the region, to defend the world and to make sure that Iran won't have nuclear capabilities,' she added.
