Indonesian police say two people arrested over fatal shooting in Bali villa

JAKARTA (Reuters) -Indonesian police said on Tuesday that two people have been arrested over the shooting death of an Australian man and the wounding of another Australian man in a nighttime attack in a villa on the resort island of Bali.
Police detained one person in the capital of Jakarta and another one was arrested abroad, Indonesian police chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo told reporters, without providing more details on the arrests.
The shooting which took place in a villa in the Badung regency happened on Saturday just after midnight.
Zivan Radmanovic, 32, died at the scene, while Sanar Ghanim, 35, was seriously wounded, state news Antara reported.
Police had said two people fled from the scene on two motorcycles and the two were heard speaking English with an Australian accent.
Bali police are expected to hold a press conference to give more details about the case on Wednesday morning, said spokesperson Ariasandy.

FA charges referee Coote in relation to comments on Klopp
Premier League referee David Coote was charged by the Football Association on Tuesday in relation to comments he made about former Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp in a video that went viral last year. Coote had been sacked by English soccer referees' body PGMOL after a video, recorded in July 2020, circulated on social media showing the official allegedly abusing Klopp and after a full investigation, his position was deemed untenable. "It's alleged that the referee acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive and/or insulting words contrary to FA Rule E3.1," the FA said in a statement. "It's further alleged that this constitutes an 'Aggravated Breach', which is defined in FA Rule E3.2, as it included a reference – whether express or implied – to nationality." Rule E3 deals with improper conduct that brings the game into disrepute, including insulting words or behaviour, while it also covers actions that question the integrity of match officials. In November, the FA said they were also investigating allegations that Coote had discussed booking a player the day before a game with a friend, which the referee denied. "No charges have been issued in relation to allegations of gambling misconduct against David Coote, which were also fully investigated," the FA added. Europe's soccer governing body also said Coote was banned from any UEFA refereeing activity until June 2026. The 42-year-old had apologised for his actions. The Sun also published a video which the newspaper said showed Coote appearing to snort white powder during his time working as a match official at Euro 2024.

Two arrested over Bali villa murder of Australian: Police
DENPASAR, Bali: Two suspects allegedly involved in the murder of an Australian man at a villa on the popular Indonesian resort island of Bali have been arrested after a days-long manhunt, police said on Tuesday (June 17) Authorities have been searching for two men after the shooting of Zivan Radmanovic, a 32-year-old Australian national, on Saturday. He was killed when two people burst into his villa in the tourist area of Canggu and at least one opened fire. A second man, 34-year-old Sanar Ghanim, was seriously wounded in the attack. One of the suspects was apprehended in the capital Jakarta while a second was to be returned from abroad, national police chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo told reporters, without identifying the country or giving details about the suspects. "Regarding the shooting of Australian citizens, I already received reports from the regional police chief (in Bali). They have been secured," Listyo said. "One is already in Jakarta, another is on his way from abroad, (they) will enter Jakarta." The arrests were made following cooperation between Indonesian police, immigration authorities and the Australian Federal Police, he said, adding Bali police would later release further details about the arrests. Jakarta police and the Australian embassy in Jakarta did not immediately respond to an AFP request for comment. Witnesses, including Radmanovic's wife, said the perpetrators who fled the scene after the attack were speaking in English with a thick Australian accent, according to a local police statement.
