Scots have named their destinations in the country that offer the prettiest vistas.
Scots have shared their picks for the "best views in Scotland". From glens to rainforests, beauty spots across the country have been named.
Scotland is renowned worldwide for its spectacular vistas. The country is home to idyllic beaches, ancient woodlands, and much more that draw visitors far and wide.
One Scot has taken to social media to ask people who live in the country what they believe its top views to be. Posting on Reddit on May 25, they asked: "What's the best view in Scotland?"
Since being shared, the post has received more than 200 responses. People from all over the country were quick to give their verdict on its most scenic vistas.
The Reddit user who asked the question suggested that the view out over Loch Shiel from Glenfinnan in the Scottish Highlands is the best in the country. Loch Shiel is a freshwater loch located around 12 miles from Fort William, and is the fourth longest loch in Scotland.
Glenfinnan is a hamlet in Lochaber that is located at the head of Loch Shiel. It can be found approximately halfway between Fort William and Mallaig, along the scenic West Highland Railway.
Elsewhere, another Reddit user stated: "Glencoe. But in person as hard to get grasp via photos."
Glencoe is also found in the Lochaber area of the Scottish Highlands. The village is nestled between the edges of Loch Leven and the mouth of the legendary Glen Coe.
Glen Coe is considered Scotland's most iconic and dramatic glen. Often referred to as 'the home of mountaineering', it is especially popular amongst hikers and climbers.
Meanwhile, another of the top replies on the post states: "Glen Affric. Live a long way from the Highlands now and even Scotland but this place is my happy place."
Also located in the Scottish Highlands, Glen Affric is a glen situated near the village of Cannich. Often referred to as one of Scotland's most beautiful destinations, Glen Affric is home to one of the biggest areas of ancient Caledonian pinewoods in the country.
Additionally, the glen features a huge variety of lochs and mountains to explore. Top beauty spots include Dog Falls, Loch Beinn a' Mheadhain, and Plodda Falls.
In response to the question, one Reddit user stated: "Looking down the Bealach na Ba after having cycled up it.
Bealach na Bà is a winding pass that travels through the mountains of the Applecross peninsula in Wester Ross. Its name is Gaelic for 'Pass of the Cattle', and is derived from its history as a drovers' road.
As well as cycling, the route can also be passed via car. Widely considered to be among the most challenging drives in Scotland, it is not suitable for new drivers however.
Another Reddit comment reads: "People always post lochs and Munros, but I think our temperate rainforests are under-appreciated."
Most of Scotland's rainforest can be found in Argyll and the western Highlands, where conditions are wet and humid. There are approximately 30,000 acres to explore, offering lush green views to soak in.

" Asda 's standard delivery policy states that drivers will typically deliver to the customer's doorstep or communal area. However, drivers may offer to bring the groceries inside if more convenient or if it's a smaller amount of items. "If the access to the front door requires stairs and there's no lift, the driver will usually arrange to meet the customer in a communal area on the ground floor." Since the post was shared, it's got a lot of people talking, and people had varied thoughts on the matter. It's clear that opinions on the topic are diverse. One said: "There must be a technical solution to this. I wouldn't expect a driver to carry heavy groceries up stairs for me. But, if you're paying for delivery, can't Asda supply an electric stair climber to get them up? "I work in the ambulance service and we have one to carry patients upstairs when there's no lift. It's called a 'Ferno EZ Glide'. Something similar must exist for normal loads?" Another replied: "There's a thing called common sense. If a customer clearly isn't able, or is going to struggle more, take the stuff up. If it's someone clearly able-bodied, and you have a lot to do, leave them to it." Someone else had a different idea, writing: "The whole delivery deal relies on lazy people who can't be bothered to go shopping. How did people ever manage before the internet? They must've starved!!! Chill." Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "Asda colleague here! I have my shopping delivered because I have one day off a week between both jobs. I live in a third floor flat with no lift, but I am not able to go down to the entrance and get the shopling, as I'm a single mother and cannot leave my small child on their own. "I'm not being funny, if you can't lift crates properly and safely, why apply for a home shop delivery job in the first place?" According to the Asda website, some changes were made to the delivery service as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. It states: "Delivery drivers will no longer be able to offer to take your order into your home on delivery or help you unpack your order. "Delivery drivers shall instead undertake contactless delivery by leaving your order on your doorstep or in your communal area and stepping back two metres. The delivery driver shall require on delivery that you (or a person in your household over the age of 18) are visible to accept delivery, so that they are able to challenge your age if felt necessary by the driver (see clause 3.6.5)." Online it also states that drivers will attempt to deliver goods to the front door of a flat, unless the driver considers it unsafe or impractical to do so. Drivers no longer offer to take orders into someone's home, or help with unpacking, but they can leave orders on the doorstep or in a communal area. Generally, they are required to deliver to the ground floor of a building, and can't always go upstairs if they think it may be unsafe to do so. There may be times when they need to deliver to a communal area or main entrance, or call to plan a meeting point if necessary.

Disabled and elderly people are entitled to free travel, depending on their age and circumstances. A renewal can take at least five weeks - users are advised to apply in pleanty plenty of time. And Scots are being advised to allow ten working days for a new card. Pensioners' passes do not have an expiry date and are valid for life. However cards belonging to disabled people will need to be renewed. But after Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced a crackdown on benefits, several claimants may no longer meet the eligibility requirements. In the Spring Statement, Ms Reeves froze key DWP Universal Credit payments for those too ill to work until 2030, meaning they will get less help every year as prices rise. Meanwhile people claiming incapacity benefits through Universal Credit will see their payments slashed from £97 to £50 a week. The Chancellor also announced a tightening of restrictions around people claiming Personal Independence Payments, a benefit designed to support those with health conditions in England and Wales. "That also means that more disabled people are eligible for free bus travel and I would hope Sun readers who are disabled and do not have a Saltire card might now apply for one. "Already, over 2 million older people, disabled people, children and young people in Scotland are benefiting from free bus travel, making over 3 million journeys every week. Dumfries and Galloway salmon 'maternity hospital' gets power up from SP Energy Networks
Volunteers from the firm met Nith District Salmon Fisheries Board to plant 1,000 trees at Crawick Water. Dumfries and Galloway's number one salmon 'maternity hospital' has been given a power up. Ahead of World Environment Day volunteers from SP Energy Networks met Nith District Salmon Fisheries Board at Crawick Water to plant 1,000 trees. The project aims to protect the salmon spawning ground from river bank erosion and habitat loss. Crawick Water runs from the Lowther Hills to join the River Nith at Crawick near Sanquhar, playing a crucial role in salmon breeding, as well as supporting diverse wildlife and rare plants. Trees including alder, cherry and Scots pine were planted by the volunteers, who came from all departments of SP Energy Networks, and their work is expected to enhance the habitats surrounding the river, providing increased shading and cooler water. Nith District Salmon Fisheries Board director, Jim Henderson, said: 'We are are very grateful for the assistance given by SP Energy Networks on their latest riparian woodland habitat scheme on the Crawick Water at Sanquhar. ' The financial contribution from SP Energy Networks made the project possible. However, our trust were unaware that they employed such talented tree planters within their ranks. We could hardly keep up with the team on the volunteering day. 'The Crawick day was good humoured with all contributing to a worthwhile cause. Nith fisheries staff work on all SP Energy Networks' projects within the Nith catchment and enjoy a good working relationship with a joint goal of protecting the River Nith and its environment.' The newly planted trees will also help filter pollutants and sediments from runoff, improving water quality. It is hoped the planting will also help stabilise riverbanks, reduce erosion and act as natural flood mitigation through bank reinforcement and water absorption. Sustainability specialist at SP Energy Networks, Tayler Henderson, said: 'The tree planting day at Crawick Water was a fantastic opportunity for our team to contribute to vital local environmental restoration efforts. By planting these trees, we're helping to enhance biodiversity, improve water quality, and support salmon populations in the area. 'This initiative is just one example of SP Energy Networks' commitment to delivering biodiversity and creating a better future for our communities. We look forward to hosting more volunteer days like this to continue our work in protecting and enriching our natural environment.'
