For Date Night in Portofino, Lauren Sánchez Opts for Roberto Cavalli

Vogue2 days ago

Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos have been making the most of their pre-nuptials partydom, with a tour of Europe, its glitziest events, and most romantic destinations.
Things kicked off with Sánchez's Paris-set bachelorette party, where she was joined by the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Katy Perry, and Eva Longoria. With a boat party on the Seine, luxe shopping stop-offs, and cocktails on the rooftop of the Cheval Blanc hotel, the dress code erred less tiaras and novelty bachelorette shirts and more clingy gowns, sheer skirts, and corsets.
Then Sánchez kept the party going by heading down to Cannes Film Festival with Longoria, attending the Global Gift Gala where Longoria presented Sánchez with the Women Empowerment Award. Both Sánchez and Longoria slipped into the expected glamorous gowns, with Sánchez in a glittering, black and sweetheart-necklined Dolce & Gabbana number. Next, she reunited with husband-to-be Jeff Bezos for the annual amfAR Gala, wearing a mermaid-esque, sequinned Roberto Cavalli strapless gown straight from the Lauren Sánchez school of style. And a short PJ or yacht ride brought both Sánchez and Bezos to Monaco over the weekend for the 2025 Grand Prix; the glam looks made it to the pit lane, too.

Now, they've swapped the French Riviera for the beloved Italian fishing village of Portofino. Sánchez and Bezos were photographed yesterday evening (May 28) stepping out for dinner at Ristorante Puny, accompanied by her son Nikko Gonzalez. Settled on the storied piazzetta, the elegant restaurant is known for its regional specialties like its basil pesto, prawn pappardelle, and fish baked in salt crust—often, enjoyed by celebrities straight from their yachts and locals alike.
She opted for an Italy-appropriate dress: A pink, burnt orange, and gold animal print Roberto Cavalli slip dress with a plunging neckline and flowing skirt. She paired it with a pair of gold open-toed sandals. and a matching box clutch bag, a denim jacket slung more casually over her shoulder. She wore her dark brown hair in her usual long, blown-out style. Bezos, meanwhile, kept it casual in a pink, open-necked polo shirt, blue trousers, and black and white sneakers. After dinner, they returned to their yacht parked in the harbour.
Sánchez's holiday wardrobe has consisted of Oscar de la Renta gowns, tight corsetry, and super-feminine silhouettes. While she has a few weeks left to enjoy yacht life, what we continue to see is probably a good indicator of what her bridal gown will look like.

Inside Netflix's F1: The Academy: Abbi Pulling and the stars ready to shatter racing's glass ceiling

When Abbi Pulling was first asked to join the cast of Netflix's F1: The Academy, she never anticipated the level of attention the series would bring to her pursuit of a Formula 1 dream. With the show landing on the streamer this week, Pulling is about to face a world of scrutiny — but, as she says, it's a 'privilege' and a responsibility. This docuseries is more than just another show about motorsport. It shines a spotlight on the F1 Academy, a women's-only racing competition, which runs as a support series to the main F1 Grand Prix. Following the success of Drive to Survive, the show gives viewers an exclusive look behind the scenes of a sport traditionally dominated by men, showcasing what it really takes to break barriers in one of the world's most demanding industries. The series goes beyond the high-speed races, offering a deeper look at the grit, determination, and passion of the women competing for a fully-funded season in the prestigious GB3 Championship, a single-seater racing series based in the UK. Pulling, 22, who races for Alpine on the show, is the star of the series as she chases the 2024 title. 'It's a huge opportunity,' she told The Standard at Wednesday's London premiere. 'I'm quite scared about what the next week will bring because people are going to either love me or hate me — so we'll see. 'But it's amazing to be here and seeing so much attention on not only women's motorsport but women's sport as a whole. It's another big thing to boost women's sport and hope it helps not just within motorsport but sport as a whole.' The series aims to provide a deep dive into the lives and careers of these rising stars. 'I'm just excited for viewers to see everyone's story and everyone's journey and what everyone has been through, gone through in 2024 and understand what it takes to be a racing car driver,' she added. 'It's such a privilege and we're all so lucky to be here and I'm so happy for the opportunity and to be racing again this year, moving onto a bigger car, a different challenge. It's really exciting and I hope people see that journey and resonate with it or relate to it in show way and the challenges that you've got to face.' Pulling's 2024 F1 Academy title journey has been nothing short of dramatic. Despite her 83-point lead over Mercedes' Doriane Pin, a change in the Abu Dhabi schedule meant Pulling still had to secure pole positions at Yas Marina to guarantee her win. The series' creation has a high-profile backing, with Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine behind the production. 'I met her at the premiere in Miami,' Pulling shared. 'She's so lovely and passionate about motorsport. The whole crew were incredible and really respectful of us. It's a high-intensity environment, and having cameras in your face for both good and bad moments... it was done respectfully. I'm excited for people to see it.' And the excitement isn't just limited to Pulling. Fellow driver Amna Al Qubaisi, who shares the track with her sister Hamda, teased: "You'll see a lot of girls being competitive and very passionate about the sport. I think it's going to be more dramatic than Drive to Survive." American driver Chloe Chambers echoed that enthusiasm, saying, 'I am so excited for this to come out. I really hope people watch it, enjoy it, and want to watch more F1 Academy. That's what I'm looking forward to.' For Bianca Bustamante, the series represents the hard work and dedication of all the drivers involved. 'Everyone has worked so hard to make this a reality,' she said. James Blunt Reveals What His Hit 'You're Beautiful' Is 'Really' About as Song Turns 20

James Blunt is celebrating the 20th anniversary of "You're Beautiful" The singer is looking back on the song about an ex-girlfriend and how it changed the trajectory of his career "You're Beautiful" hit number one across 10 countries in an explosive release James Blunt is celebrating 20 years of "You're Beautiful." Marking the milestone on X, Blunt expressed his gratitude at the staying power of the hit song, which was released on May 30, 2005. He wrote, "20 years ago today, I released a song that bought me this house. Whoever thought a song about being high as a kite on drugs, stalking someone else's girlfriend would resonate quite so much? Thank you. You guys are beautiful." "You're Beautiful" was the third single released from Blunt's album, Back to Bedlam, first released in October 2004. It ended up hitting number one across 10 countries in an explosive release that made it one of the songs of the year. Blunt has never commented on who, in particular, the song is about, though there were rumors after the song's release that it was about Dixie Chassay. At the time, Chassay was best known as part of the casting team for Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban, learning under the tutelage of casting director Jina Jay. It was mentioned in a 2006 profile of Chassay that the song is about her, though she has never commented on it directly. The singer did give some insight into how the song came to be in a 2020 essay for The Guardian. "One day I was on the underground in London and saw an ex-girlfriend with her new boyfriend. Our eyes met, but we just walked past each other, and I went home and wrote the words to 'You're Beautiful' in two minutes," he wrote. "I went to see my songwriter friend Sacha Skarbek in Los Angeles, and, with Amanda Ghost as a co-writer, we finished the song. It's always been portrayed as romantic, but it's actually a bit creepy. It's about a guy (me) who's high and stalking someone else's girlfriend on the subway. But everyone has those moments where you wonder: 'What if I'd said something?' " Blunt recalls playing the song at SXSW, the beginning of a huge shift that came when Linda Perry expressed interest in signing him. "The label asked me to remove the words 'f— high' from 'You're Beautiful,'" he recalls."I tried 'particularly high,' 'especially high!' Eventually I sang 'flying high' on the radio edit but wanted the released version left as it was. I told them, 'I was f— high!' " Blunt added, "The song has a false start. I sing 'my life is brilliant' twice, which is my little joke, but I think in my elated state, from whatever concoction I might have taken at the time, life did seem really brilliant. The tube certainly looked very colorful." Looking back with the knowledge that it propelled his career as a singer and songwriter, Blunt admitted, "I had no idea the song would be such a big hit, and it scared me at first." "I thought I'd just be a musician putting out music. The song [released in 2004] became so ubiquitous that it started to irritate people, but I'm still proud of it and I love my job. I sang it at Elton John and David Furnish's civil ceremony and I'm about to start my sixth world tour. Without 'You're Beautiful,' it'd be a tour of north London." Jeremie Frimpong revealed that he had phone calls with Arne Slot and Virgil van Dijk after learning of Liverpool's interest in signing him. Advertisement The 24-year-old made it apparent during the interview just how keen he was for the deal to happen, as he also said how excited he was to link up with Mohamed Salah. Read the full transcript of the interview below, courtesy of club media: How does it feel? "Thank you, it's a pleasure. I'm playing for Liverpool, what more can I say? My whole family is excited for me, and my girlfriend [is]. So, I'm happy, blessed. "I think it went quite easy. Liverpool came and said they had interest, and obviously for me it was a no-brainer. For me, it was like, 'Whatever you guys do, just get this done', [speaking to] my agents: 'Just get this done.' It went quite smoothly, there were no problems." Energetic. Yeah, I think I can bring a lot of energy to the team." You wanted to join Liverpool when you were younger has that stuck in your mind? "Of course. You always want to play for the top teams as a footballer, as a kid. Of course when I was younger and Liverpool first came, that was a no-brainer as well, but due to transportation and all these sorts of things, I had to go a different way. And look at me now. So, it has worked really well." Have you learned anything from the Dutch players at Liverpool? "Yeah, of course. I have had a few conversations with them. Virgil has called me and told me a little bit more about Liverpool and the expectations, those types of things. And made me feel like the guys are going to welcome me well. That's what I expect from Virgil with how he is in the national team – he's a big character, captain. They have told me good things." For me, it was literally just, obviously Ryan plays for Liverpool and obviously Liverpool is Scouse, so I just did that. I didn't think it was going to blow up like this. But yeah, it was funny, I appreciate the support." Did Anfield make an impression on you, the fans and atmosphere? "One hundred per cent. I think this is the best stadium I played in when I was with Leverkusen: the atmosphere, the fans, the team as well. The whole package is great." How did it feel to face Liverpool? "Ah, you know already, I don't need to say too much about the quality. They won the league. For me, playing against Liverpool when I was in Leverkusen, really difficult. Really, really difficult. How can I say it? Obviously Leverkusen were still good but you can see that Liverpool is next level." You know the language and the culture? "Yeah, exactly. Of course. I was born in Amsterdam but I was raised in England so of course I know the culture. I think I'm going to settle in well." How have you changed over the last few years now you've won league titles in two countries? "One hundred per cent. I was immature back then, I was still a kid (at Celtic). I was just thinking about leaving my friends. That was more important to me at that point because obviously I grew up with them, went to school with them. So for me it was like, 'Ah, I'm not going to see them now.' All my brother gave me was a wake-up call. It was needed, 100 per cent, because I really did want to turn [back] that day. But then my brother was like, 'OK, listen, it's your chance now. You have to show them.' And now I'm here. Of course that mindset has changed, 100 per cent." Is your expectation that this winning can continue and you can add to that with Liverpool? For me, everywhere I've been I've always won things. It's always been the league, cups and the league, so I've always won trebles. So yes, I want to win trebles, I want to win trophies – I play football to win trophies. I want to win as many trophies as possible. Frimpong helped Leverkusen win the Bundesliga in the 2023/24 season -Credit:2025 Liverpool FC Have you had a chance to see any of the scenes over the last few weeks at Liverpool? "Of course I saw that. When that was happening I was on holiday, so obviously I saw it on social media. Amazing! I want to be part of that, 100 per cent." Is it inspiring when you see things like that? "Of course. This is winners, this is why we play football – to make the fans happy. When you win, you celebrate with them. This is what the sport is about. I live for these moments. It's the best feeling ever as a football player." Have you had a chance to speak to Arne yet? "I spoke to the manager a few times. He sounds very positive. He says I can bring a lot of energy and my qualities, my speed. Especially when a manager is talking positively about you, it gives you very good confidence that he believes in you. I've had good conversations with him." How much are you looking forward to working with him? "Yeah, 100 percent. I'm really excited. Even when I was at [the] national team, some of the Feyenoord boys would tell me about him and be like, 'He's the best coach I've ever had.' Things like this. So, I've always heard good things about the coach. Now he's going to be my coach, so I'm excited for that." And Mo Salah is going to be one of your teammates… "Playing with world-class players as a footballer is a great feeling, it's a privilege, like, 'I'm going to be next to Mo Salah.' Not just him, the whole Liverpool squad. Just Liverpool in general, this is a privilege, a blessing that I can be part of it. But I can't wait to link up with him – hopefully we link up well. I'm excited for these things, 100 percent." Jeremie Frimpong has joined Liverpool -Credit:2025 Liverpool FC You're still only 24 but do you think there's room for improvement? "Always. There's never a day [that] goes past where I don't think I can improve. I feel like improving is part of football. Never stay comfortable, never stay complacent. There's always room to improve and to do more as well." What would you like to achieve here? "Look at my tablet and be like, 'Yeah, I've won this trophy, this trophy, this trophy, this trophy.' And then speak to my family and my friends and my teammates about it, 'We've had a good five years.' Yeah, things like that." What's your message to the fans? "Liverpool fans, I'm going to give my all, my energy, my work-rate and hopefully we can win together, we celebrate together, get everything together. I'm just excited to be here. Thank you guys for accepting me and I won't let you guys down and I'll give you the energy that you guys want."
