Cassie's Lawyer Has Released A Statement Following The Diddy Verdict
'This entire criminal process started when our client Cassie Ventura had the courage to file her civil complaint in November 2023,' he wrote in a statement published by Newsweek. 'Although the jury did not find Combs guilty of sex trafficking Cassie beyond a reasonable doubt, she paved the way for a jury to find him guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution.' Diddy was found guilty of two lesser prostitution charges and still faces up to 20 years in prison for those crimes. Wigdor said Ventura's decision to confront her abuser in court still helped provide justice for victims previously intimidated to call out powerful men in the entertainment world.
The statement continued, 'By coming forward with her experience, Cassie has left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and the fight for justice. We must repeat — with no reservation — that we believe and support our client who showed exemplary courage throughout this trial.'
'She displayed unquestionable strength and brought attention to the realities of powerful men in our orbit and the misconduct that has persisted for decades without repercussion,' Wigdor went on. 'This case proved that change is long overdue, and we will continue to fight on behalf of survivors.' The singer first went public with her allegations in November 2023, accusing her ex-boyfriend of rape, coercion and years of physical abuse in a civil suit.

The California Governor claps back against "DING DONG DANE" with another all caps Trump parody Fox News personality Dana Perino was adamant on Tuesday's episode of 'The Five' that she gets what the joke is with Gavin Newsom's parodies of Donald Trump social media posts. She thinks 'it's just not funny.' Newsom has recently started doing ALL CAPS parodies of Donald Trump's social media posts, only from his own POV, which has drawn a lot of attention to the California governor. On Monday, Perino dismissed Newsom's efforts to mock the president and promote his own agenda in this way, saying in part that he is 'making a fool of yourself, stop it,' and that 'he has to be a little bit more serious' if he wants to be President of the United States. 9/11 victims' fund architect slams changes to New Hampshire abuse settlement program
CONCORD, N.H. — An attorney who helped design and implement the 9/11 victims' compensation fund says New Hampshire lawmakers have eroded the fairness of a settlement program for those who were abused at the state's youth detention center. Deborah Greenspan, who served as deputy special master of the fund created after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, recently submitted an affidavit in a class-action lawsuit seeking to block changes to New Hampshire's out-of-court settlement fund for abuse victims. She's among those expected to testify Wednesday at a hearing on the state's request to dismiss the case and other matters.
