Bhopal
: CM
Mohan Yadav
on Thursday invoked Lord Ram's ideals as he credited Rs 1,551.89 crore directly into the bank accounts of 1.27 crore beneficiaries of the
Ladli Behna scheme
in Sidhi, saying the state govt was committed to keeping its promises -- even at the cost of life.
"We are followers of Lord Ram's ideals -- those who fulfil their promises, even at the cost of their lives," he said, after transferring Rs 1,250 each to the accounts of 'Ladli Behnas' during a public event.
Releasing the 24th instalment of the scheme, Yadav said the state was celebrating "Raksha Bandhan" with its sisters every month through the scheme. Women in the state had received more than Rs 28,000 crore so far, he said.
Yadav further said the govt was firmly committed to the welfare of the poor, farmers, youth, and women of MP. The CM said honouring women has been a timeless tradition in India. "The govt's doors are always open for sisters," he said.
"India is the only country where the land is worshipped as a mother," Yadav said, reflecting on the deep-rooted values of Indian family culture, where mothers prioritise their children over themselves.
In addition to "Ladli Behnas", he also transferred Rs 341 crore to 56.83 lakh
social security pension
beneficiaries, and Rs 30.83 crore for LPG cylinder refills to over 26 lakh women.
He also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones with "Bhoomi Pujan" for various development projects in Sidhi district worth Rs 112 crore. He declared that there will be no compromise in the development of the Rewa-Sidhi region.
Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, Yadav said Pakistan had been exposed on the global stage. "India is entering a new era, and our military's valour makes the entire country proud," he said, noting that victory parades and "Tiranga" rallies were being held across cities.

'Terror has a price': CDS Gen Chauhan blasts Pak duplicity on global stage

New Delhi/Singapore: The Shangri-La Dialogue, Asia's premier security forum, witnessed a rare yet pointed exchange between military leaders of India and Pakistan, amid escalating tensions following the recent Pahalgam terror attack. According to high-level sources present at the event, India's Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Anil Chauhan sent an unambiguous message that New Delhi's patience with cross-border terrorism has reached its limit. Gen Chauhan, speaking in a closed-door session on regional security threats, made a forceful reference to India's recent Operation Sindoor—a precision military campaign targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and across the border. "This operation reflects a decisive shift in India's posture," sources said, quoting General Chauhan. "A new red line has been drawn. The era of strategic restraint in the face of terrorism is over." Sources say the Indian general stopped short of naming Pakistan directly but made clear references to its long-standing support for proxy terror elements. 'We have endured over two decades of proxy war. The toll on civilian lives, our soldiers, and our economy is unacceptable,' Chauhan reportedly said. 'Operation Sindoor was not just a tactical response, it was a strategic signal.' The comments came during concurrent sessions where Pakistan's Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, took a more familiar route, calling for 'conflict resolution' over Kashmir and warning of the risks of escalation. In a panel discussion on crisis-management mechanisms, Mirza argued that the absence of sustained dialogue could lead to uncontrollable conflict. He reiterated Pakistan's longstanding position that the Kashmir issue must be resolved 'in accordance with UN resolutions and the will of the people.' However, Indian defence officials dismissed Mirza's remarks as 'predictable deflection,' pointing to Islamabad's continued patronage of terror outfits.

BRS, Cong govt drove TG into debts: Bandi

Karimnagar: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has criticised the nine-and-a-half-year BRS and one-and-a-half-year Congress rule for completely bankrupting Telangana by borrowing nearly Rs. 10 lakh crore. He said that despite borrowing lakhs of crores, the lives of the people of the state have not changed and the Congress government has cheated them brutally by not implementing the promises made, including 6 guarantees. The rule of these two parties and corruption brought Telangana to a situation where even loans are not given. On the occasion of Telangana State Formation Day, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, along with former MLA Bodige Shobha, former mayors Sunil Rao, D. Shankar and BJP leaders of the joint Karimnagar district, garlanded the portraits of Bharat Mata and Ambedkar and unfurled the national flag.

Union Ministers, MPs must safeguard state's interests: DKS

Bengaluru: In view of Maharashtra CM raising objection to increasing height of Alamatti dam, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Monday called upon the Union Ministers and MPs from Karnataka to safeguard state's interests. 'As per the Krishna Tribunal's order, Karnataka can increase the height of Alamatti dam to 524 meters. Maharashtra, which was quiet when the order was pronounced, has suddenly written a letter to our CM objecting to it. I appeal to all the Union Ministers and MPs with folded hands to protect state's interest in this,' the DCM, who also handles Irrigation portfolio, said addressing a press conference at Vidhana Soudha. 'Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has written a letter to our CM Siddaramaiah on May 9 raising objection to increasing the height of Alamatti dam. Stating that Sangli and Kolhapur districts would face flooding if the height of the dam is raised, the letter has asked for re-evaluating the plan. This letter is a shock to us. Maharashtra had never raised objection to this project till now. They had not raised any issues when the Tribunal passed its judgement in 2010. Maharashtra had even submitted an affidavit to the Tribunal seeking increasing Alamatti height but it is opposing it all of a sudden. 'This project is our right accorded by the Krishna Tribunal. Our CM will give a reply to the letter by the Maharashtra CM. Union Minister V Somanna is part of Union Jal Shakthi ministry. Alamatti project is needed for the state, we don't want friction with our neighbouring state. The cost escalation is very due to delay in this project. We would need Rs 1 lakh crore for land acquisition for this project,' he said. 'Flooding in Maharashtra is their internal matter and they need to fix it. We will meet the PM and the Union Jal Shakthi Minister and put pressure regarding this. Karnataka has been waiting for a Gazette notification for increasing Alamatti height since 2013. How long should we wait? We will share the letter from Maharashtra CM and our reply to that to all our MPs.' Asked if Maharashtra CM's letter has a political motive, he said, 'I don't want to get into that now, I will only speak for our state's interest. There is no scientific basis for the letter. Increasing Alamatti dam is our right and we appeal to all parties concerned to let us execute the project.'
