‘Darker The Night…': Tej Pratap Yadav's One-Line Post As Father Lalu Turns 78 Today
Last Updated:
Tej Pratap Yadav was disowned by his father Lalu after a sensational Facebook post revealed his long-term relationship with another woman, Anushka.
Tej Pratap Yadav, who was disowned by his family last month after an explosive Facebook post revealing a 12-year-long relationship with a woman named Anushka, has now posted a cryptic message ahead of his father and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's 78th birthday on Wednesday.
In an X post on the eve of Lalu's birthday, Tej Pratap shared a large portrait of his father painted on a wall, and he looking at it and touching it with both hands.
Tej Pratap Yadav's Post On Lalu's Birthday Eve
'The darker the night, the closer the morning will be," Tej Pratap's caption read (roughly translated from Hindi).
However, his post did not explicitly mention greetings for his father's birthday.

Lalu Yadav is celebrating his 78th birthday today.
His daughter Rohini Acharya extended him birthday wishes and called him her 'Superman".
'Our greatest inspiration, our strength, our shield, our role model, our pride, our guide, our Superman — wishing our dad endless birthday wishes. Happy Birthday, Papa," she posted on X.
Tej Pratap Episode
On May 25, Lalu Yadav took to X and announced the expulsion of his son from the party for six years. He also disowned him from the family.
The massive announcement came after a Facebook post by Tej Pratap's official account mentioned that he and Anushka have been in a 12-year-long relationship.
Lalu described his son's activities as 'irresponsible behaviour".
'His activities, public conduct and irresponsible behaviour are not in accordance with our family values and traditions… he will not have any role of any kind in the party and family," Lalu said.
Later on, Tej Pratap said on X that his Facebook account was 'hacked" and the pictures were 'being doctored to harass and defame me and my family members."
The issue raised temperatures in the Bihar politics, months ahead of the state Assembly elections.

Bihar Elections 2025: Who Gains, Who Loses If AAP Contests On All 243 Seats?
Curated By : Satyaki Baidya Translation Desk Last Updated: June 12, 2025, 18:17 IST AAP is reportedly eyeing urban and young voters, traditionally seen as the support base of the RJD and Congress. (PTI/File) In a move that could reshape the dynamics of the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced it will contest all 243 seats on its own. Once a part of the opposition INDIA bloc, AAP's decision to go solo is expected to add a new twist to the state's political equation, potentially affecting the fortunes of both the ruling NDA and the opposition alliance. Political experts note that despite AAP's limited support base in Bihar and its underwhelming performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections—where it contested a few of the 40 seats without securing any wins—the party's decision to contest all 243 assembly seats signals its growing ambitions and intent to expand its political footprint. AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal said, 'We will go among the people in Bihar on issues like education, health, and electricity." The party is reportedly eyeing urban and young voters, traditionally seen as the support base of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress. Which Alliance Stands To Lose From Kejriwal's Move? According to political commentators, AAP's move could hurt the INDIA alliance, which includes the RJD, Congress, and Left parties. RJD's core vote base in Bihar comprises Yadavs, Muslims, and Dalits, while Congress holds sway in some urban and Dalit constituencies. Many have expressed that AAP's presence may divide these votes—particularly in closely contested seats—ultimately benefiting the NDA. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the INDIA bloc won 9 seats in Bihar, while the NDA secured 30. Experts note that if AAP cuts into the RJD and Congress vote share, it could directly benefit the BJP and Janata Dal (United). Which Alliance Can Benefit? Political experts believe that AAP's decision could indirectly benefit the NDA. The NDA's strength in Bihar comes from the alliance of BJP, JDU, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM). In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA secured 52% of the vote share, while the INDIA alliance got 42%. According to political analyst Yashwant Deshmukh, 'Voting in Bihar is based on arithmetic. If the NDA remains united, it is difficult to defeat it." Experts note that the division of opposition votes due to AAP's presence may make it easier for the NDA to win. Swipe Left For Next Video View all Political commentators argue that AAP's decision to contest all seats is a risky move, given Bihar's political landscape shaped by complex caste equations and the dominance of strong regional parties. According to experts, while AAP's Delhi model may resonate with urban voters, regional parties like the RJD and JDU maintain deep-rooted influence in rural areas. Analysts further suggest that even if AAP secures 5–10% of the vote, it could significantly damage the INDIA bloc's prospects. Many believe that while AAP's strategy may help the party position itself as a long-term alternative in Bihar, the immediate impact is likely to hurt the INDIA alliance the most. Commentators point out that a division in opposition votes could ultimately strengthen the NDA's position. All eyes are now on how Bihar's electorate responds and how effective AAP's campaign proves to be on the ground. As Lalu Prasad Yadav Turns 78, Son Tej Pratap Sends Birthday Wishes
Patna: As Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) National President Lalu Prasad Yadav turned 78 on Wednesday, a stream of well-wishers - party workers, supporters, and leaders - flocked to the 10 Circular Road residence of Rabri Devi to wish him on his birthday. While many greeted the veteran leader in person with gifts and warm messages, others flooded social media with prayers for his health and longevity. However, all eyes were on Lalu's elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, who remained conspicuously silent throughout the day - until late evening, when he finally broke his silence on social media. At around 5 p.m., Tej Pratap posted a heartfelt birthday message on the social media platform X. Wishing a very happy birthday to the people's leader, the voice of the poor, my guiding light — Shri @laluprasadrjd ji. You're not just my father, you are a movement that inspires justice, courage, and change. Carrying forward your ideology is not just my responsibility, it is… — Tej Pratap Yadav (@TejYadav14) June 11, 2025 "Heartiest birthday wishes to the leader of the people, voice of the poor, my guide Lalu Prasad. You are not just my father, but you are a movement that inspires justice, courage, and change. Taking your ideology forward is not only my responsibility but my religion," Tej Pratap posted. The timing and tone of the message were closely watched, especially amid the strained relationship between father and son. Lalu Yadav is reportedly upset with Tej Pratap over the controversial Anushka Yadav episode, which led to the latter's six-year expulsion from the RJD and his exclusion from the family. Since then, the two have not met publicly. Sources close to the family indicate that Lalu Yadav appeared visibly disappointed during the day, possibly due to Tej Pratap's absence - a sentiment evident on his face as numerous guests came and went without any sign of his elder son. Just a day before the birthday, Tej Pratap shared a symbolic message on Instagram, posting a picture of himself gazing at a photograph of his father with the caption: "The darker the darkness, the closer the morning." His message on Wednesday, while emotionally resonant, did little to dispel the public perception of a deep rift within the political family. As the RJD gears up for the coming Bihar Assembly elections, the strained personal ties between Lalu Prasad and Tej Pratap could have wider implications - both politically and emotionally - for the party.
