What Farah said about her YouTube channel During the episode, Arjun asked Farah to reveal how she came up with the idea of launching her own channel on YouTube. Farah said in Hindi, 'When I started the vlog I thought it would be on cooking and then realized that it is too much work! Then I thought of bringing Dileep so that I can get a bouncing board. The first vlog clicked, and by the second vlog we had a silver button.' Dileep is the star! Anshula then said, 'But Dileep is the star!' Arjun added, 'Sorry to inform you!' Farah rolled her eyes and said, 'I am the star-maker, what do I do? Rakhi Sawant, then Deepika [Padukone], and now…' Dileep also joined in for a chat with them and when asked who did he liked more in Gunday- Ranveer Singh or Arjun Kapoor, he said Arjun! For the unversed, Farah cast Rakhi Sawant in Main Hoon Na, which starred Shah Rukh Khan and also marked Farah's directorial debut. In Om Shanti Om, Farah cast Deepika Padukone opposite Shah Rukh. It was Deepika's debut in Bollywood. Farah started these cooking vlogs with Dilip in 2024, and what started as a fun way to pass time and connect with fans soon turned into a beloved web series-style vlog. The concept was simple yet engaging: Farah and Dilip would visit celebrity friends' homes, cook meals together, and share light-hearted, candid conversations.

Saeed Mirza lauds Kerala for sustaining IFFK for 30 years
Saeed Akhtar Mirza, chairman of the K.R. Narayanan Institute of Visual Sciences and Arts, has come down heavily on the movie The Kerala Story, which won the national film awards for best direction and cinematography for 2025. Inaugurating the Regional International Film Festival of Kerala (RIFFK) in Kozhikode on Friday (August 8), the three-time national award-winning filmmaker of Mohan Joshi Hazir Ho!, Salim Langde pe Mat Ro, and Naseem said that movies like The Kerala Story that spread exaggerated half-truths were worse than lies and weapons in the hands of fascists. Appreciating the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) for bringing back sanity, rationality, and poetry to cinema, Mr. Mirza noted that Kerala had internalised cinema. 'This is the only State in the country that has sustained a film festival with such deep public participation for 30 years,' he said, noting that the IFFK had its beginning in Kozhikode in 1994. He appreciated the role played by film societies in the State in nurturing cinema culture and mentioned doyens such as Chelavoor Venu, who popularised quality cinema. He also invited filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan back to his institute, from where the latter had resigned as chairman a few years ago. Festival director and Kerala State Chalachitra Academy Chairman Premkumar, in his address, supported Adoor's recent statement that filmmakers, irrespective of gender or community background, need proper training in the craft of cinema. He also said that the 'freedom of expression' was not the freedom to spread lies, and that every artist had a responsibility to society. Mayor Beena Philip presided over the event. MLA Thottathil Raveendran was the guest of honour. Actors Sudheesh and Kukku Parameshwaran, besides officials of the Academy were present. Meenakshi Jayan, who bagged the best actress title at the Shanghai International Film Festival, and Gopikrishnan Varma, who played a pivotal role in the Hindi movie Sitare Zameen Par, were honoured on the occasion. The Seed of the Sacred Fig by Iranian filmmaker Mohammed Rasoolof was the inaugural film of the four-day festival. It had bagged special jury recognition at the Cannes Film Festival. The film is the story of a mother and two daughters against the backdrop of the mandatory hijab rule in Iran. The director now lives in exile in Germany after the Islamic Republic of Iran sentenced him to eight years of imprisonment and whippings as punishment for making this movie. The RIFFK features 58 films in nine different categories from different parts of the world. As many as 15 films are being screened in three theatres in the city on the second day of the festival.

Rajinikanth's ‘Coolie' roars ahead of release, shatters advance booking records in Kerala and overseas
Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film Coolie is already making waves, and it hasn't even hit theatres yet. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and backed by Sun Pictures, the action drama is seeing record-breaking advance bookings in Kerala and overseas, setting the stage for one of the biggest openings ever for a Tamil film. Slated for a grand August 14 release, Coolie will open in five languages: Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, boosting its pan-India appeal. The star-studded cast, featuring Rajinikanth, Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Sathyaraj, has only added to the growing excitement. In Kerala alone, over 2 lakh tickets have already been sold in advance, raking in more than ₹ 3 crore before release. As per trade tracker Sacnilk, the demand has skyrocketed, with 50,000 tickets selling per hour during the initial booking phase. With national bookings now open, sales are expected to surge even further, possibly exceeding 1 lakh tickets per hour. Internationally, Coolie is off to a flying start. The film is projected to earn nearly ₹ 30 crore overseas on opening day alone, a staggering figure that could eventually surpass the international debut of Thalapathy Vijay's Leo, which opened at ₹ 66 crore. If the trend holds, Coolie may become the biggest global opener for a Tamil film. While Coolie looks set to dominate southern markets and global territories, it will face box office competition in the Hindi belt from War 2, which opens advance bookings on August 10. But with Rajinikanth's massive fanbase, high-octane action, and multi-star ensemble, Coolie is expected to hold its ground. As anticipation builds, all eyes are now on August 14, when Coolie storms into theatres worldwide, aiming to rewrite the rules of the box office.
