Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce 's paths collided in July 2023 when the NFL star attended her Eras Tour, carrying a friendship bracelet bearing his phone number. And since they publicly confirmed their relationship, fans haven't been able to get enough content.
From Super Bowl celebrations and tennis-match PDA to lyric changes and podcast appearances, this timeline chronicles every milestone in their whirlwind courtship. Honestly, it's Sweeter Than Fiction…
8th July, 2023: Kelce attends the US leg of Swift's record-breaking Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium, the home of his team, the Kansas City Chiefs. Football-loving Swifties film him watching the show from a private box and trading friendship bracelets with fans.
26th July, 2023: Kelce reveals on New Heights podcast – which he hosts with his brother – that he tried and failed to meet Swift after the show. 'I was disappointed that she doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,' he said. 'So I was a little butt-hurt I didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.'
He then explains he'd made a special friendship bracelet – fans trade them at her shows, referencing a lyric from her track You're On Your Own Kid – with his number on it, but hadn't been able to give it to her. 'She doesn't meet anybody, or at least she didn't want to meet me, so I took it personal,' he says.
21st September, 2023: After growing rumours about a blossoming romance, Kelce appears on The Pat McAfee Show and reveals he invited Swift to watch him play. 'I threw the ball in her court,' he says, adding: 'I told her, 'I've seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead, you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead.' We'll see what happens in the near future.'
24th September, 2023: Swift very publicly confirms her interest, making a surprise appearance at the Kansas City v Chicago Bears game. She watches from a private box with Kelce's mother, Donna, and friends, and is seen cheering as Kelce scores a touchdown.
The two leave the stadium together, with TMZ catching (now iconic) snaps of them in an open-top convertible. Very cool.
26th September, 2023: Travis and Jason Kelce reflect on Swift's appearance on their podcast, with Travis saying: 'Shout out to Taylor for pulling up! That was pretty ballsy, yeah. I just thought it was awesome how everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her, the friends and family – she looked amazing. Everybody was talking about her in great light and on top of that, the day went perfect for Chiefs fans, of course.'
'It was definitely a game I'll remember, that's for sure,' he says. 'Then we just slid off in the getaway car at the end. Took my Chevelle to the game.'
1st October, 2023: Swift once again turns up to support Kelce, this time at the Chiefs v New York Jets game at MetLife Stadium, NYC. She even brought her famous besties Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds along.
15th October, 2023: After a busy month with the Eras Tour premiere and more football game appearances, Swift and Kelce confirm their relationship by arriving hand in hand at the Saturday Night Live after party.
Page Six also obtains snaps of their pre-show dinner at Nobu in NYC, which show the couple looking very cosy and even holding hands. Nawww.
23rd October, 2023: The couple go Instagram official (well, kind of) when Chariah Gordon, girlfriend of Chiefs player Mecole Hardman, shares a snap of Swift planting a kiss on Kelce's cheek.
11th November, 2023: Swift heads back on tour, and Kelce turns out to support her in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He's filmed dancing with Swift's dad, Scott, by his side, and even takes Swift for a fancy dinner at the Four Seasons the day before her concert.
But in the final act of the concert things got really juicy. Swift changes the lyrics of her song to: 'Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me,' (previously the lyrics talked of 'the guy on the screen') which elicits absolute mania from fans. She's then videoed running backstage after the show straight into Kelce's arms, and giving him a huge kiss, too.

20th November, 2023: During an interview with Wall Street Journal Magazine, Kelce drops a few hints about how his relationship with Swift began. 'There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was. I had somebody playing Cupid,' he says.
He adds the duo have bonded over their love for family. 'Everybody knows I'm a family guy,' he says. 'Her team is her family. Her family does a lot of stuff in terms of the tour, the marketing, being around, so I think she has a lot of those values as well, which is right up my alley.'
1st December, 2023: Kelce and Swift get in the Christmas spirit by attending a pop-up bar with Kelce's teammate, Patrick Mahomes, and his partner, Brittany.
6th December, 2023: Swift opens up about her relationship with Kelce for the first time, in her Time Person of the Year profile. 'It all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast,' she says, 'which I thought was metal as hell.'
'We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I'm grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.' She also clarified they were already a couple by the time she attended her first Chiefs game, adding: 'I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.'
25th December, 2023: On Christmas Day, Swift, her mum Andrea, and dad Scott all attend the Kansas City Chiefs v Las Vegas Raiders match. Following the game, the couple leave the stadium hand-in-hand.
31st December, 2023: The pair ring in the new year together at a Kansas City party. A clip shared on X shows them sharing a midnight kiss.
21st January, 2024: Swift finally meets Jason Kelce, Travis's brother, when they support the Chiefs at the Playoffs. 'Tay said she absolutely loved you,' Travis later tells Jason on their podcast.
'I'm not going to lie, I gave Kylie a heads-up,' Jason says. 'The moment we get into the suite, I said, 'I'm taking my shirt off and jumping out of that suite.' And she said, 'Jason don't you dare.''

28th January, 2024: Swift rushes onto the field to congratulate Kelce after the Chiefs secured their spot in the Super Bowl, and is spotted whispering to her boyfriend as the team celebrates. Kelce is spotted replying: 'Tay, I'm going to enjoy it with the guys. I love you. So much, it's not funny.'
11th February, 2024: Hours after closing the Asian leg of the Eras Tour, Swift arrives to support Kelce at the Super Bowl. She and her entourage – including Blake Lively, Ice Spice and Lana Del Rey – cheer the Chiefs on to win the biggest prize in American football.
Swift rushes onto the field to congratulate Kelce afterwards, before they hit the town for an afterparty (also attended by Swift's parents). They're spotted singing and dancing – at one point to Love Story – until 5am.
22nd February, 2024: Kelce flies to Australia to support Swift as she takes the Eras Tour Down Under, with the two enjoying a day at the zoo before the following night's performance. She once again sings the updated Karma lyric, before kissing Kelce in the wings after the show.
13th April, 2024: Swift and Kelce look very comfy hanging out with Barry Keoghan and Sabrina Carpenter at Coachella. Kelce later said on New Heights: 'Our guy Jack Antonoff absolutely ripped it.'
'I like to see it from the fans' perspective, 'cause I am, I'm a fan of music,' he said of why the pair didn't watch all performances from the wings. 'I want to see it from the front of the stage … I think it's that much more of an experience if you're in the pit, if you're in the madness with all the fans.'
19th April, 2024: Swift drops her 11th album, The Tortured Poets Department, and one song in particular, The Alchemy, seems to be about her beau Kelce. In an apparent reference to the Super Bowl win she says: 'Shirts off and your friends lift you up over their heads/ Beer sticking to the floor, cheers chanted 'cause they said/ There was no chance trying to be the greatest in the league/ Where's the trophy? He just comes running over to me.'
27th April, 2024: While auctioning off four Eras Tour tickets on behalf of Swift at the 15 and The Mahomies Foundation gala, Kelce refers to Swift as his 'significant other'.
'I was just talking to my significant other, and we might have one other auction item that wasn't on the docket,' he says. 'Has anybody heard of The Eras Tour?'
9th May, 2024: The Eras Tour returns and Swift adds new tracks to her setlist, including So High School, another apparent tribute to Kelce. During the song, she even pays tribute to the Chiefs' iconic dance move, swag surfing.
22nd June, 2024: Swift goes Instagram official with Kelce, sharing a snap of them meeting Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
23rd June, 2024: Kelce makes his Eras Tour on-stage debut, appearing in a top hat and tails for I Can Do It With a Broken Heart. The following day, Swift posts pics of his performance, writing: 'I'm still cracking up/swooning over @killatrav's Eras Tour debut.'
25th June, 2024: Kelce appears on the Bussin' With the Boys podcast and talks about the moment he knew he was in love with Swift. 'The first game she came to against the Bears, I was like, 'I could probably set you up with everything,'' he says. 'And she just walked through the front door. There was no going down, talking to security … She was just like, 'I want to be around the family and friends and experience this with everybody.''
4th September, 2024: Documents supposedly outlining a 'break-up strategy' orchestrated by Kelce's PR team start circulating on the internet, but the footballer's reps are quick to deny them.
'These documents are entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued, or authorized by this agency,' a spokesperson said. 'We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents.'
8th September, 2024: Swift and Kelce have one of their most public dates at the 2024 US Open, where they watch the Men's Singles Final, pack on the PDA and sing along to I Believe in a Thing Called Love.
11th September, 2024: Swift gives Kelce a shout-out at the VMAs, where she accepts the Video of the Year award. 'This video seems very sad when you watch it, but it was actually the most fun video to make,' she says. 'I would always just hear someone cheering, like, 'Whoo!' from across the studio – that one person was my boyfriend, Travis. Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic, so I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot.'
30th September, 2024: Sources shut down speculation that Swift and Kelce have split after she missed two Chiefs games. 'Taylor and Travis are still together and doing well,' a source told Entertainment Tonight. 'He's been busy with the NFL season, and she has been enjoying some time off before her upcoming shows. Even though Taylor isn't currently touring, she is still very busy with work and sorting out her upcoming plans.'
11th/12th October, 2024: The couple enjoy back-to-back date nights in New York, including dinner with pals Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.
2nd December, 2024: People reveal Kelce and Swift secretly spent Thanksgiving together, with a source saying: 'Taylor and Travis had a great Thanksgiving together with their families. It's the first Thanksgiving they celebrated together.'
'Taylor and her family were excited to host the Kelce's this year. [Travis's brother] Jason was there with his family and kids, too. It was very festive and special.'
13th December, 2024: Kelce and Swift reportedly celebrate her birthday, privately, together. A source tells Page Six: 'He had his gifts delivered beforehand so they would be a surprise. Everything was decorated beautifully with flowers everywhere.'
'He had jewellery engraved especially for Taylor, he gave her countless roses and showered her in gifts. Travis went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect.'
20th December, 2024: Friends share pictures of Swift and Kelce dancing and packing on PDA at an Eras Tour wrap party. Engagement rumours fly after one snap shows Swift covering her ring finger, but a source told the Daily Mail: 'Taylor and Travis find it extremely humorous that they have been engaged every day since they got together.'
'They are both aware of the fact that the whole world is so thirsty for them to be engaged and, while Taylor does want a white wedding one day, her friends just feel like people need to chill and let them be a couple.'
9th February, 2025: Swift, accompanied by the Haim sisters, supports Kelce's Chiefs at the Super Bowl. They lose to the Philadelphia Eagles (ironically, Swift's hometown).
14th February, 2025: Kelce reportedly spends over $100,000 on Valentine's gifts for Swift, including: 'Roses, candy, gold necklaces, diamond earrings, shoes and clothes. Travis also wanted to include something extra personal so he surprised Taylor with a handmade Valentine's Day card.'
19th February, 2025: A source confirms to Us Weekly that while Swift and Kelce aren't yet engaged, it's on the horizon. 'Those close to them actually think [Travis may do it] while they're on vacation,' they said.
11th May, 2025: The couple spend Mother's Day with Kelce's mum, Donna, brother Jason and sister-in-law Kylie.
23rd June, 2025: Swift and Kelce make their red-carpet debut at a Tight End University football event. Clips shared show the duo dancing to Swift's hit, Shake It Off.
24th July, 2025: Kelce makes it official, sharing a 13-slide post (yes, 13) of his off-season adventures, most also featuring Swift. They're seen on a beach getaway, at an intimate dinner, on a snowy ice skating trip, and at parties with family and friends.
11th August, 2025: Kelce announces Swift will star in a new episode of New Heights, and she announces TS12. The internet goes into meltdown.
12th August, 2025: In a GQ cover story, Kelce speaks candidly about his relationship with Swift. 'Whenever I'm with her, it feels like we're just regular people,' he says.
'When there is not a camera on us, we're just two people that are in love. It can be perceived as something else because of how much it is talked about and how much we are tracked whenever we do go out, but I would say that... it happened very organically, even though from a media standpoint it was being tracked. It still happened very organically.'
'Nothing I've ever done has been a controlled, organised process. When I say it was so organic, we fell in love just based off the people we were sitting in a room together with. We are two fun-loving people who have the morals to appreciate everyone for who they are. We share all those values. It kind of just took the f*** off.'
13th August, 2025: Swift and Kelce are literal couple goals on the newly released New Heights episode, which becomes the most-listened-to podcast within 24 hours ever. She announces her new album The Life of a Showgirl, saying it'll be more upbeat as 'life is more upbeat' with Travis.

She also thanks the podcast for getting her a boyfriend, and recounts the hilarious story of Kelce failing to get backstage at the Eras Tour the first time he tried to meet her. 'This felt more like I was in an 80s John Hughes movie,' Swift says, 'and he was just standing outside of my window with a boombox being like, 'I want to date you! Do you want to go on a date with me? I made you a friendship bracelet''
