DLF secures RERA approval for Privana North project, launch by Q1-end
This would be the third phase within DLF's 116-acre Privana project, following its launches of Privana South and West in 2024, which included 795 and 1,113 units respectively. Both projects saw a good response from investors, selling out completely within 72 hours for a combined approximate sales realisation of over ₹12,790 crore.
While DLF did not respond to queries sent by Business Standard, the company, in an analyst call held last month, had stated that Privana North is expected to be launched towards the first quarter of the financial year 2025–26 (Q1 FY26).
'As soon as we have our paperwork in terms of RERA done, we will be in the market very soon,' Aakash Ohri, joint managing director and chief business officer at DLF Home Developers, had stated.
Speaking on the demand for the project, Ohri had said that there has been sizable demand for both its upcoming products—in Privana and Mumbai—from local micro markets, the rest of the country, and non-resident Indians (NRIs).
'DLF products are agnostic to geography in terms of investors. So today, one is looking at various sets of people who are wanting to pick up a DLF home, as not only do they make money in capital appreciation, but once you lease them out, you have recurring income also,' he added.
In the analyst call, the company had added that the two Privanas sold out last year are currently trading at a premium of ₹2,500 to ₹4,000 per square foot.
The Privana project is located along the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) in Gurugram, which is being touted as an upcoming micro market within Delhi NCR.
DLF's push in Gurugram comes even as it is planning to launch residential projects with an estimated sales potential of ₹73,900 crore in the medium term, according to the company's investor presentation.
According to a report by real estate consultancy firm Anarock, SPR is a key micro market within Gurugram's real estate landscape, spanning from the juncture of Gurugram–Faridabad Road near Sector 58 to its convergence with NH-48 in the vicinity of Sector 74A.

Pvt players likely to have limited access to data from GatiShakti portal
Private sector may soon have limited access to the PM GatiShakti national masterplan (NMP) portal as the government has 'nearly finalised' rules around it, a senior government official said. The GatiShakti national masterplan is a digital platform that intends to reshape how India approaches infrastructure development. 'The rules are being framed in a way that private sector companies will not be allowed to download data from the national masterplan portal,' the official told Business Standard. The extent of data sharing with the private sector has been decided by the respective line ministries that have integrated their data with the national masterplan. All the ministries and departments have uploaded every minute data related to its social and economic projects on the portal. They can access this data and plan their own projects or social initiatives around it. As a result, it is reducing duplication of efforts, and easing movement of goods and people. For over two years, the department for promotion of industry and internal trade has held inter-ministerial meetings and has done extensive consultations with various government departments and ministries on the matter. The idea behind giving access of the national masterplan to private players has been to help them in execution of infrastructure projects, depending on the extent to which data is shared. In the Union Budget announcement in February, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said that certain data and maps from the PM GatiShakti portal will be provided to the private sector -- a move which could help them optimise last-mile delivery services and develop infrastructure-based applications. Ahmedabad-based Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG), under the administrative control of ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY), is finalising the broader rules. BISAG's involvement is crucial since protocols for private users' access are sensitive considering security concerns, the official cited above said. At the moment, only state and central government ministries and departments can access the digital portal for detailed planning and implementation of infrastructure connectivity projects.

Oil prices dip as market awaits EIA report
HOUSTON -Oil prices dipped on Tuesday as traders watched for a U.S. government short-term market outlook report following a bullish report on demand and supply issued by OPEC. Brent crude futures lost 20 cents, or 0.3%, to $66.43 a barrel by 10:36 a.m. CDT . U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures were off by 39 cents, or 0.61%, to $63.51. "We're still locked into a range, waiting for an Energy Information Administration report this morning," said Phil Flynn, senior analyst at Price Futures Group. Flynn said traders were watching to see if the EIA report would track with a report issued earlier on Tuesday by OPEC on its demand and production outlook. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries raised its forecast for global oil demand next year and trimmed its forecast for growth in supply from the United States and other producers outside the wider OPEC group, pointing to a tighter market outlook. OPEC's monthly report on Tuesday said global oil demand will rise by 1.38 million barrels per day in 2026, up 100,000 bpd from the previous forecast. Its 2025 projection was left unchanged. U.S. President Donald Trump extended a tariff truce with China to November 10, staving off triple-digit duties on Chinese goods as U.S. retailers prepared for the critical end-of-year holiday season. This raised hopes that an agreement could be reached between the world's two largest economies and avert a virtual trade embargo between them. Tariffs risk slowing global growth, which could sap fuel demand and drag oil prices lower. U.S. consumer prices increased in July as tariff-induced rising costs for imported goods helped to drive the strongest gain in six months for one measure of underlying inflation. Also potentially weighing on the oil market, Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are due to meet in Alaska on Friday to discuss ending Russia's war in Ukraine. The U.S. has stepped up pressure on Russia to end the conflict, with Trump setting a deadline of last Friday for Russia to agree to peace in Ukraine or have its oil buyers face secondary sanctions. He has also pressed India and China to reduce their purchases of Russian oil. "If Friday's meeting brings a ceasefire or even a peace deal in Ukraine closer, Trump could suspend the secondary tariffs imposed on India last week before they come into force in two weeks," Commerzbank said in a note. "If not, we could see tougher sanctions against other buyers of Russian oil, like China."

Bulk of Mercedes cars on road E20-compliant: MD & CEO Santosh Iyer
Bulk of Mercedes-Benz cars currently on Indian roads are E20-compliant and the luxury carmaker has been selling such models in the country since 2018, the firm's India Managing Director & CEO Santosh Iyer (pictured) told Business Standard in an interview. E20 compliance means that a vehicle's engine, fuel system, and emission-control components are designed and tested to operate safely on petrol blended with up to 20 per cent ethanol without causing damage. There have, however, been heightened social media discussions during the past few weeks about whether E20 fuel affects efficiency and engine performance. 'Mercedes Benz was the first in India to introduce a BS-6 compliant car. In August 2018, we introduced the new S class, which was BS-6 Gadkari (Union roads minister) himself flagged that car,' Iyer said, adding that all BS-6 compliant cars sold in India have been E20 compliant, too. The German carmaker has not tested the 'cars that were sold prior' to August 2018 for the impact of E20 fuel on their engines and fuel efficiency. Meanwhile, Iyer admitted that cars sold prior to 2018 might face a slight impact on performance due to E20 fuel, which is now being sold at fuel pumps. 'We have sold close to 200,000 cars in India in the past 30 years. However, the past 100,000 units were sold just in the past six years. The last 150,000 units were sold in the past 10 years. So, a bulk of the cars that we would have sold in India would be E20-compliant,' he noted. Iyer was talking to reporters on Tuesday night after launching the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé — a high-performance, two-door luxury model — in India, with prices starting at ₹1.35 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). 'In 2024, we started getting the E20 certificates for our cars. So, in that sense, all our cars that we sell in India are fully compliant today on the E20,' he said. 'I think material compatibility (with E20 fuel) also remains for cars that we have sold earlier. But the fuel, and by the laws of physics and chemistry, you can say that if you have a lower or higher ethanol rating, the combustion process is different... I would say that you will definitely have a difference in performance,' he said. 'But today, the cars that we are currently selling have no change in performance because they are all compatible with the E20 fuel,' he pointed out. 'The cars that were sold many years back might have had a slight impact on the performance, but otherwise, I think the government's direction is clear and from April 2024, we started getting our cars certified as E20 compliant,' he noted. Mercedes-Benz, India's top luxury carmaker, started FY25-26 with its best-ever April–June sales, delivering 4,238 cars, a 10 per cent increase from last year.
