BMW India launches comprehensive monsoon service campaign for 2025

Mint28-06-2025
As the monsoon rains begin to pour across India, BMW Group India is stepping up to ensure its customers enjoy uninterrupted performance and peace of mind during the wet season. The luxury automaker has announced the launch of its BMW Monsoon Service Campaign 2025, which will run across its dealership network from June 15 to November 30, 2025. This extensive initiative covers both BMW and MINI vehicles, aiming to enhance vehicle safety, functionality, and comfort during the rainy months.
The BMW Monsoon Service Campaign brings with it a host of complimentary services that are specially designed to address issues commonly triggered by wet and humid conditions. BMW's trained technical experts will conduct a comprehensive inspection of critical vehicle systems, including:
Windscreen wipers and washer systems
Rain and light sensors for automatic wiper and headlamp activation
Alignment of headlamps and fog lights
Electrical system and horn functionality
Micro filters and weather strips on doors and trunk lid
Sunroof seals, drainpipes, and trunk ventilation
BMW will also clean the engine control unit box and check the electric plug connections in both the engine bay and underbody. Tyre condition is another major focus, with checks on tread depth, sidewall damage, bulges, and pressure. The brake system and exhaust components will undergo a detailed visual inspection as part of the complimentary care.
In line with the brand's growing electric portfolio, BMW is also offering specialized checks for electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrids. These include inspections of the charging cable, high-voltage charging socket, and vehicle underbody for signs of damage, corrosion, or wear — all critical areas to maintain EV reliability in monsoon conditions.
Vikram Pawah, President and CEO of BMW Group India, emphasized the brand's commitment to proactive customer care:
'Our 'Proactive Care' strategy allows us to redefine service by foreseeing your needs ahead of time. The BMW Monsoon Service campaign is specifically designed to equip your vehicle for the challenging monsoon conditions in India.'
BMW assures that all inspections will be carried out using advanced diagnostic tools and genuine BMW parts, ensuring top-tier care and optimal vehicle performance.
Adding more value to the service campaign, BMW is also rolling out special offers under the 'BMW Joy Rewards' program, especially targeting vehicles that are over five years old. Customers can expect discounts on select services and the option to purchase new BMW accessories, making it the ideal time to upgrade or maintain their vehicles.

Microsoft Excel gets AI-powered COPILOT function for natural language formulas

Microsoft has launched a new COPILOT function in Excel that lets users create formulas using natural language prompts instead of complex manual coding. The feature, now available to Microsoft 365 Copilot subscribers in the Beta channel, allows users to type commands like "Classify this feedback" and automatically generate AI-powered results in spreadsheet cells. The COPILOT function works by combining natural language prompts with cell references, such as =COPILOT("Summarize this feedback", A2:A20). Users can integrate it with existing Excel functions like IF, SWITCH, and LAMBDA, making data analysis more accessible to non-technical users. Key applications include classifying customer feedback, generating product descriptions, creating summaries of large datasets, and brainstorming marketing ideas. The AI can produce multi-row, multi-column tables that integrate directly into spreadsheets. Microsoft emphasizes that data processed through the COPILOT function remains confidential and won't be used to train AI models. The feature is powered by OpenAI's GPT-4.1-mini model and represents an evolution of Microsoft's earlier experimental function from 2023. Current limitations include a 100-call-per-10-minutes usage cap, inability to access live web data or internal business documents, and restrictions against using it for high-stakes scenarios with legal or regulatory implications. Microsoft warns the function can produce incorrect responses and shouldn't be used for numerical calculations. The company plans to expand functionality over time, including potential web access capabilities and increased usage limits. Excel for the web will receive the feature through Microsoft's Frontier program.

Suzuki expansion cements Gujarat's position as global auto hub

North Gujarat has rapidly emerged as one of India's leading automobile manufacturing hubs, led by Suzuki Motor Gujarat 's facility with an annual production capacity of 7.5 lakh cars, according to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), ANI reports. Suzuki has now announced plans to set up a fourth production line with an investment of ₹3,200 crore to scale up electric vehicle (EV) production in the state. The move comes on the back of earlier commitments, including a ₹7,300 crore battery plant and a ₹3,100 crore EV manufacturing facility. Suzuki, a backbone for Gujarat's automotive wave Gujarat first attracted a wave of global automobile manufacturers between 2012 and 2015, with Suzuki's 2014 MoU to establish a mega plant marking a turning point. Since then, the Japanese automaker has invested significantly in the region, creating jobs and boosting the local auto component ecosystem around Mehsana. The Suzuki Motor Gujarat plant is now among the largest automobile manufacturing facilities in the country, serving both domestic and export markets. Gujarat's strong port connectivity has positioned it as a strategic export hub, with automobile exports worth ₹3,459 crore in 2024 to markets such as South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Japan, the UAE and Chile. Overall, investments in Gujarat's automobile sector reached ₹29,700 crore in FY23, growing at a CAGR of 16.4 per cent over the past five years. The Mandal Becharaji Special Investment Region (SIR) has also become a key centre for auto manufacturing, drawing global players and allied industries. The state is set to highlight these achievements at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences (VGRC), where it will showcase opportunities for global investors in the automotive and allied sectors.
