The Huskies threw a blanket on ninth-seeded Oklahoma in the first round Friday, limiting the Sooners to 32.1% shooting (17-for-53) in a 67-59 win and cover as 6-point favorites with the Under (147) cashing. The 2-time defending champs held Oklahoma to just 17.6% (3-for-17) from behind the 3-point line, too.
UConn G Solo Ball scored a team-high 14 points, while F Alex Karaban was good for 13 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks in 38 minutes. The Huskies weren't terribly efficient from the field, hitting 42.9% (24-for-56) and just 24.0% (6-for-25) from downtown. That's going to have to pick up dramatically against the top-seeded Gators Sunday.
Connecticut has won and covered 13 consecutive NCAA Tournament games. In addition, it is 6-1 straight up (SU) in the past 7 games, and 5-1 against the spread (ATS) in the past 6 outings. The Under is 6-0 in the past 6 games, too.
Florida barely broke a sweat vs. No. 16 seed Norfolk State Friday, winning 95-69. However, the Gators were unable to cover as 28.5-point favorites as the Over (153.5) hit. G Walter Clayton Jr. led the way with 23 points, including 4-for-9 from downtown, while G Alijah Martin had 17 points on 5-for-10 shooting.
The Gators have won 7 in a row, going 6-1 ATS in the span. Plus, the Over is on an 8-0 run. Florida has won 13 of the past 14 with a 12-2 ATS record, while the Over is 11-3.

UCONN (+375) is worth a look for the opportunity to nearly quadruple up on your initial wager.
It won't be easy to show top-seeded Florida (-500) the door, but if anyone can, it's 2-time defending champ UConn. The Huskies have won 13 straight NCAA Tournament games, and they won't go easily.
UCONN +9.5 (-110) is worth a play if you're a little more conservative, and not willing to roll the dice on a bit of a long-shot.
The Huskies know how to heat up at the right time, proven by their consecutive NCAA Tournament game win streak.
Florida is a tremendous team, but it showed some vulnerability in losses at Georgia (by 5 points Feb. 25) and at Tennessee (by 20 points Feb. 1). The Gators can be very good, but sometimes they can also completely disappear. They turned it over plenty against Norfolk State, committing 12 miscues. That won't do against the 2-time defending champs. Florida needs to bring its 'A' game.
Just don't wager more than 1½ units between the 2 plays — the UConn ML and the UConn spread.
UNDER 151.5 (-115) is the play, but we're going against the trends for the Gators. They've cashed Overs in their last 8 outings.
For UConn, though, the Under has cashed in 7 in a row with the Huskies limiting their opponent to 66 or fewer points in 5 of their last 6. Plus, in last season's NCAA Tournament, UConn cashed Under in all 6 games.

2025 NFL MVP betting, odds: Public bettors backing Joe Burrow; big bets on Lamar Jackson
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow put up an incredible season last year, compiling 4,918 passing yard and 43 touchdowns while throwing nine interceptions. He also was third in the NFL with a total QBR of 74.7, the highest of his career. However, the Bengals went 9-8 and missed the postseason. The betting public is expecting an MVP season from Burrow this year. Burrow (+600) is tied for the third-best odds at BetMGM to win the 2025 NFL MVP award with Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen, the 2024 MVP, but behind the favorite and two-time MVP Lamar Jackson (+550) of the Baltimore Ravens. Yet Burrow has the most bets and total dollars wagered to win MVP at multiple sportsbooks. "Burrow is the most-bet player and our biggest liability [among realistic candidates]," BetMGM NFL trader Christian Cipollini told Yahoo Sports. Burrow has 15.7% of all MVP wagers at BetMGM sportsbooks, along with 24.3% of the handle. Over the past few weeks, Jackson has moved into the position of consensus MVP favorite at sportsbooks, albeit just slightly ahead of Allen and Burrow. "Jackson is the most-bet player to win MVP with us in terms of accumulation," Jamey Pileggi, risk manager at Circa Sports, said. "We moved based on liability and just overall popularity that the public seems to have for him in this market." There are two big reported bets on Jackson to win MVP at multiple sportsbooks as well: $50,000 on Jackson to win NFL MVP at ESPN BET at +550 odds to win $275,000. $50,000 on Jackson to win NFL MVP at Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas at +600 to win $300,000. After a historic rookie season in which he led his team to the NFC championship game, Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (+750) has the second-most wagers (8.5%) and total money bet (8.1%) in the MVP market at BetMGM. The Commanders still have yet to sign WR Terry McLaurin, who is looking for a new contract. Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (+700), a two-time NFL MVP, has the third-most bets and total dollars wagered. Ever since Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson won the MVP in 2012, 12 straight quarterbacks have won the award.

I think he's going to just hit the ground running immediately at the NFL level for a couple of different reasons. One, I mentioned Jaylen McMillan earlier, he is now placed on IR. There are reports that he might be out until the Buccaneers' week 9 by, which stinks because he was a really useful vertical receiver for them. We know Chris Godwin has not even started. He's jogging on a separate field yet at training camp, which again, sucks because Chris Godwin was having the best season of his career and was the second most productive receiver in the NFL outside of Jamar Chase in the first seven weeks. And Ray, I think, look, this is always tough, but I think he's got a pro-ready skill set. I really do. I mean, this is a guy who was number two in success rate versus zone coverage. Among all the prospects they charted last season, or excuse me, for this last draft class, behind only the great Travis Hunter, who we talked about earlier, and he actually would have led all the prospects in that great 2024 class in success rate versus zone coverage as well. I think he's a pro-ready guy who runs the type of routes Baker Mayfield wants to throw. Like people are excited about Emeka Ibuka, but I think they need to get even more excited, Ray. I mean, this is, you never, ever, ever, we don't ever wish injury upon any player, but amongst getting drafted and following up the heels of Chris Godwin getting paid, I think a lot of people were expecting a fine season from McBooka this year. Show some flashes, but you still got Godwin coming back. Mike Evans is there. McMillan played well down the stretch and yes, the rookie is going to be on the field, but quite a few mouths to feed, not. Bucky Irving and Kate Otten. I mean, this escalated real fast because the injury to McMillan, a lot of people thought, a lot of people thought, oh, just a sprain, he'll be, he'll be out. And then next thing you know, he's out for half the season and eight, nine, ten weeks for fantasy, that's, you're out for the year. His skill set in this offense was already a good match skill, match and skill set fit. But it might be out of necessity. And let's not act like Mike Evans has been this perfect model of consistent health over the past couple of years of his career outside of that 23 season. I, I'm not going to say it yet. Well, you know what? Damn it, Matt. I, I do believe that when you're looking at an offense with a quarterback, an environment to produce an elite outcome. It may be Puka Nua-esque in Tampa Bay. Skill set plus necessity, offense, Baker's not going to dial back throwing the ball. I, I think he, we should have him projected for even more, a higher target share than 100. Fabian Edwards dismisses PFL finals foe Dalton Rosta: 'A nice kid' who's 'trying to act tough'
PFL middleweight Dalton Rosta looks like the bully in every American coming-of-age movie you've ever seen. You know, the dude who's the captain of the football team. He goes out with the most popular cheerleader in the school. You would eagerly bet all of your early possessions that he had frosted tips and has stuffed a nerd in a locker at one point in his life. 'A jock!' Fabian Edwards interrupts me, halting my labyrinthine quest to pigeonhole his upcoming PFL foe, who he meets Thursday in the main event of the Hollywood, Florida card, which doubles as the $500,000 finals of this year's PFL middleweight tournament. While my stereotype is built solely around Rosta's All-American appearance, Edwards believes his opponent has far more in common with Channing Tatum, who played a lovable former football player in "21 Jump Street," and Zac Efron, who portrayed a basketball star in "High School Musical." Edwards, the younger of the famed Birmingham brothers — older sibling Leon Edwards is a former UFC welterweight champion — has been baffled by his interactions with the American Top Team talent all week. Go and see for yourself — nearly every promotional video follows the same pattern. A glowing Rosta appears on the screen and immediately begins to insult Edwards, who in turn looks very confused by what's taking place. 'I'm just thinking that he's acting, he's always performing, you know?" Edwards tells Uncrowned, days out from the fight. "Every time he opens his mouth, I feel like he's acting. I can't take this guy seriously in those interactions. I really can't. 'He's acting tough, but really he's just a nice American college kid. This is what it looks like when a nice kid is trying to act tough. I know he's putting on a show. It's funny to me.' In a way, Edwards sees the insults and critiques of his abilities as a compliment. As far as he's concerned, Rosta is attempting to make up some ground on him before they meet on Thursday, when no remark or jibe will factor into whose arm is raised in victory for PFL's six-figure prize. 'He obviously thinks he needs to weaken me somewhere," Edwards says. "I don't have to tell you — I come from a very tough area, we grew up on the streets. Someone coming at me with little insults is not going to affect me. On Thursday I get to go in there and put my hands on him. It's all just talk and it will have no impact on the fight when we're locked in the cage.' As the old adage goes: Appearances can be deceiving. It's true in the case of Rosta, an NCAA Division II wrestler who boasts an undefeated amateur boxing pedigree and 11-1 pro MMA record. Like Edwards, his talent was identified by Bellator and he signed to the promotion in 2019. He contested every professional bout of his fledging career under the banner up until this tournament, where he offed Sadibou Sy and avenged his sole career loss to Aaron Jeffrey to book his place in the finals. While Edwards acknowledged Rosta's wrestling ability, he praised little else of his counterpart's skill set. 'He's just a wrestler," Edwards says. "He can box a little bit, but his main thing is to wrestle. He even said it in the face-to-face, he said, 'I'm going to wrestle you for five rounds', and that's it. That's probably his best path to victory, but it's not going to happen, I feel like I'm going to style on this guy. He's a blown-up wrestler. 'I'll be on this guy from the jump. I know I can keep my pace going deep into a fight and I know he can't. He mentioned to me that he's explosive — bro, Dalton is not faster or stronger than me. If he really believes that's true, he's going to be in for a shock. He fights in a way that relies on being explosive, whereas I rely on my skills.' Speaking of movies, the Edwards' brothers story has often been floated as perfect fodder for a Hollywood blockbuster. Even if you shrank it down to Fabian's tournament run, you could at least get a mini-series out of it. Initially told he wouldn't be able to secure a visa to fight in the opening round, he was then thrust into a short-notice fight against two-time light heavyweight tournament champion Impa Kasanganay. After his second-round knockout of Kasanganay, he went on to defeat Josh Silveira to book his ticket to the finals. Now, all that stands in the way of him and $500,000 is Rosta. 'I thought this dream was done, mate,' he says. 'I thought I was finished. When I got the call to say I was out, I went straight down to my mum's shop to cheer myself up with some jerk chicken, and then the day after I was back in. It's been a wild journey, but as soon as I got into this tournament I told everyone that I was going to win it — and now I'm about to do that.' As for what lies beyond the tournament, should he claim victory, Edwards believes it will be the perfect setup for a rematch with new PFL middleweight champion Costello Van Steenis, who edged him out via split decision back in September 2020. 'I don't want to hear this 'Tournament champion' stuff. Once I win this belt it's world champion versus world champion," Edwards says. "I'll have taken out three of the best guys in the division and then I'll be straight onto the Costello rematch. That will be an entertaining fight.'
