Springfield man and woman arrested in Enfield on theft charges
ENFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) – Two Springfield larceny suspects were arrested during a planned police operation to address retail theft in Enfield.
The Enfield Police Department states that on Wednesday, officers, along with the Connecticut State Police retail theft task force, performed a planned operation to address retail theft in Enfield's shopping district.
Springfield man charged with sexually assaulting minor in Somers
During the operation, officers worked with loss prevention from multiple stores to identify and arrest shoplifters while they were committing the larcenies, and two people were arrested and charged. The two Springfield residents were arrested based on evidence from a previous larceny and a larceny in a separate retail store in Enfield. The items stolen and the amount it was worth are unknown at this time.
Both 21-year-old Devon Arthur of Springfield and 20-year-old Gabriella Martins of Springfield were charged with the following:
Larceny 6th degree (2 cases)
Conspiracy to commit larceny 6th degree (2 cases)

Five injured after Taunton crash in speeding BMW
TAUNTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Five people have been injured in a crash following a high-speed chase on Route 24 on Monday. Mass. man arrested following deadly crash in November The Massachusetts State Police state that on Monday at approximately 4:00 a.m., a trooper assigned to the Middleborough Barracks saw a white BMW X5 traveling south on Route 24 at an estimated speed of more than 100 mph. When the trooper initiated a traffic stop, the driver failed to stop and continued to speed up to escape police. As the driver continued to travel south on Route 24, the driver was observed reaching a speed of approximately 130 mph. The vehicle then lost control and crashed in Taunton a short time later. State police seek public's help in finding CT woman and her infant son
Connecticut State Police are looking for a Washington mother and her infant son. Police are asking for assistance from the public in finding Sadie Fleming and her son. Hudson, who were last seen leaving their residence on foot in Washington early Sunday morning. Sadie Fleming is 27 years old, Black, with brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 4 inches tall and 160 pounds. Her son Hudson is one month old.
