TAUNTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Five people have been injured in a crash following a high-speed chase on Route 24 on Monday.

The Massachusetts State Police state that on Monday at approximately 4:00 a.m., a trooper assigned to the Middleborough Barracks saw a white BMW X5 traveling south on Route 24 at an estimated speed of more than 100 mph. When the trooper initiated a traffic stop, the driver failed to stop and continued to speed up to escape police.
As the driver continued to travel south on Route 24, the driver was observed reaching a speed of approximately 130 mph. The vehicle then lost control and crashed in Taunton a short time later.
First aid was provided to the five occupants inside the BMW. They were taken to local hospitals in stable condition. The investigation remains ongoing, and the charges have yet to be announced.

Mass. man shot at another car on I-190 during road rage incident, police say
A man in a pickup truck is suspected of shooting a gun at another person in a car during a road rage incident on Interstate 190 in Holden on Monday morning, Massachusetts State Police said. Marcus Trujillo, 45, of Fitchburg, was arrested by State Police in connection with the incident, according to a statement. No charges have been announced, though they will be forthcoming.
