Republic of Ireland Under-21s were held to a 0-0 draw against Qatar Under-23s in Vrbovec.
The game was the Republic's second friendly after being beaten 1-0 by Croatia on Friday and the Qatar clash saw Andrew Wogan, Jacob Devaney, Cian Dillon and Cathal O'Sullivan all make their first starts for the under-21s.

Jamie Mullins had an early effort miss the target as Ireland started well and they came close again when O'Sullivan smashed a shot off the post.
Jad Hakiki's effort was then cleared off the line as the score remained goalless at half-time.
They had another great opportunity through Hakiki again after the break when his effort rattled the post, but the game fizzled out into a draw.
The Republic are back in international action in September when they begin their qualification campaign for the European Championship.

Boca Juniors defender Costa gets special U.S. visa for Club World Cup following earlier rejection

June 13 (Reuters) - Boca Juniors defender Ayrton Costa will be able to take part in the Club World Cup in the United States following a u-turn by U.S. immigration officials who had previously rejected his visa application, the Argentine club said on Friday. "Ayrton Costa has been granted a 26-day special visa," a club spokesperson told Reuters. Costa's visa application was subject to a criminal complaint in his native Argentina, relating to an aggravated robbery in 2018, which he avoided trial for by accepting a probationary sentence in 2023. However, U.S. officials previously ruled that he could not enter the country as he was still serving his sentence. The press office at the U.S. embassy in Argentina told Reuters that they cannot discuss individual visa applications. Boca Juniors will open the tournament in Miami on Monday against Portuguese side Benfica.

Man Utd most watched team in Premier League despite plummeting viewing figures – as rivals tune in to watch them lose

MANCHESTER UNITED have suffered a plummet in viewing figures - but are still the most watched. The Red Devils endured a horror season in which they finished 15th in the Premier League. 1 The calamitous season ended with an embarrassing 1-0 defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final. The season was overwhelmingly their worst since the Premier League was formed in 1992. Sky Sports has issued that there was a 10 per cent fall in average viewership numbers last season. The drop, which was also seen by TNT Sports, followed on from two record-breaking seasons. Manchester United are viewed as the biggest club in England and a recent Statista survey put them ahead of rivals Arsenal and Liverpool. However, a broadcaster insider has claimed to know one reason behind the Red Devils above-average viewership. The Times has reported that more fans are tuning in to watch Man United in order to revel in their misery on the pitch. And they would have had plenty of enjoyment over the campaign. The Old Trafford outfit lost a staggering EIGHTEEN games in the Premier League alone. Ruben Amorim 's side could have more competition for the top spot next season though. The Portuguese manager will be hoping that rival fans will be tuning out of their matches because they DON'T want to see them win. There will surely be a wide interest in the English game with nine Premier League clubs in Europe. This means that there is likely to be more games scheduled for Sundays - all of which will be televised. The promotion of the well-supported Leeds United will also attract eyeballs as well as the long-awaited return of Sunderland.
