Inter Miami rallies to beat Necaxa on penalty kicks in Leagues Cup after Messi exits with injury

Inter Miami then converted all five of its penalty kicks, and goalkeeper Rocco Ríos Novo denied Tomás Badaloni in the third round of the shootout. Suárez hit the winning shot into the top left corner.

Telasco Segovia put his side ahead 1-0 minute after Messi exited on a feed from Inter Miami newcomer Rodrigo De Paul, who had two assists in just his second match with the club. It was Segovia's second goal of the tournament.
Badaloni tied it at 1 on a shot that he tapped past Ríos Novo to the bottom left corner in the 33rd.
Ricardo Monreal put the Mexican club ahead on what looked to be the winning score in the 81st before veteran left back Alba snapped a header into the back of the net on De Paul's free kick.

The 28-year-old Saint-Maximin arrives in the Liga MX after a one-year stint with Turkey's Fenerbahce where he played on loan from Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli. America, the winningest club in Mexico with 16 league titles, did not disclose further details about the contract. Local media reported a two-year deal worth around $10 million. Saint-Maximin is the second French player to play for Club America. Jeremy Menez, who won the Apertura 2018 championship with the club, was the first. The most successful French player in Mexican league history is Andre-Pierre Gignac, who has won five league titles with the UANL Tigres and scored 209 goals in all competitions since arriving in Mexico in 2015. Saint-Maximin, a former France youth international, debuted with Saint-Etienne in his home country, moved to Monaco and Nice, and in 2019 to Newcastle in the Premier League, where he spent four seasons. ISTANBUL, Turkey (AP) — Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce surged into the Champions League qualifying playoffs by overturning a two-goal deficit on Tuesday against Robin van Persie-coached Feyenoord. Fenerbahce had lost 2-1 in the Netherlands last week and fell further behind in the second leg of the third qualifying round clash when Feyenoord defender Tsuyoshi Watanabe scored the opener in the 41st minute.
