THE fastest rider to ever lap the Isle of Man TT course was airlifted to hospital after crashing at 140mph during practice.
Peter Hickman came off the road just 10 minutes into qualifying on Friday evening after falling at the famed Kerrowmoar section.

Hickman has paid tribute to the emergency staff and TT marshals who came to his aid, having been jetted to Noble's Hospital.
The 8Ten Racing rider and co-owner spent two nights in intensive care after suffering chest, back, shoulder, and facial injuries.
The 38-year-old has two black eyes, is currently wearing an arm brace and left hospital in a temporary wheelchair after being discharged.
Hickman broke his silence writing to fans: 'Well this isn't quite how I'd planned my TT to go.

The session, the third of the day which got under way at 6:30pm, was red flagged at 6:40pm before any riders had completed a lap.

The 14-time race winner will not participate in the remainder of the TT after his terrifying accident.
Hickman was expected to be among the frontrunners, alongside Michael Dunlop and Davey Todd, challenging for race wins this week.

In 2023, Hickman set a course pace record of 136.358mph that still stands.
Hours before his crash, he posted the second-fastest time in Superbike qualifying.
Hickman entered this year's TT in a new-look team alongside Todd.
They set up 8TEN Racing together for this year's road racing commitments.
But only Todd, who won the Superbike race on Monday, will continue with the TT, with Hickman's focus now on recovery.
Hickman actually crashed in the same section last year, with the Kerrormoar corner immediately following Ginger Hall.
In 2015, the dare devil broke his back, neck, two ribs and suffered a punctured lung only to want to climb back on his bike the following day.

She described the incident with a young cob horse as a 'freak accident', saying: "I can't get round this injury doing this to him. "I've pulled him out from under horses, he's been up on roofs just last Sunday - that was him, you'd never change him. "Dad passed away about an hour and a half ago - we had the phone call while on the way to Chepstow races. "He slipped away this morning. "The messages and the support from everyone have just been absolutely outstanding. "I've tried to reply to as many people as I could but I'm so sorry if I haven't replied. "The love that man had - he wasn't just my dad, he was everyone's dad. "The people he helped all through his years. He was everyone's dad. As recently as 18 months ago Turner said he was still riding out three lots a day - something he loved to do. Recalling his passion for racing and horses, he said how his late father would tell him: "Don't retire, because there are two chairs that will kill you – the electric chair and the armchair!" Turner, who was born in 1947 in the Shropshire village of Clun, has won the Brocklesby at Doncaster - the first big two-year-old race of the season - a record six times. A trainer for decades and jockey before that, he has two Listed victories to his name as well - and has never been afraid to try new things. One of the most bizarre was when he started training a zebra called Zebedee to run like a thoroughbred. Bought from a Dutch game reserve for £4,500 in 2009, Turner ultimately wanted to get the horse over jumps. But he had to settle for riding round his Sherborne base - much to the amusement of drinkers down the local who thought they had had a few too many when they saw him cantering past. Turner, who was described by the local newspaper as 'bonkers', said at the time: "I had always wanted to see if I could train a zebra like a horse and had tried for years to get one. "Then a friend in Belgium who knew I wanted one managed to find one and I brought him over. "He is only half grown and we've only been training him for a few weeks but it is going very well. "At first I thought I had bitten off more than I could chew because he saw everything as a predator. "I ride him with a saddle and I take him out to the village and the first time I did it a few people outside the pub ran back in thinking their beer was a bit strong." Turner's most successful year as a trainer came in 2012 when he saddled 29 winners and won just shy of £100,000 in prize money. He smashed the six-figure ceiling several times, including in 2006 when The Lord gave him the first of his two Listed wins with victory in the Achilles Stakes at Goodwood. More to follow.

The recall concerns a headlight malfunction which could cause confusion for oncoming drivers. It affects its 2025 Frontier model - a midsize pickup truck. New regulations mean that modern cars have to run the front lights even during the daytime. However, a software issue has left the Nissan trucks with its two front lights dimmed. The company told The Daily Mail that the lights become dim when the start-stop function occurs, usually at a red light or in traffic. It led to concern that it might confuse oncoming drivers or pedestrians, "increasing the risk of a crash". What you need to do? Thankfully the recall has a relatively easy fix. Drivers just need to bring their car into a dealership where they will receive a free computer update. A notice will be issued to customers in the post in mid-September. A potential merger with Honda earlier this year fell through. As part of a restructuring plan, a number of its production plants are set to close, potentially affecting thousands of employees. Amidst the financial issues, the company has also issued six recalls this year alone. Over 440,000 cars were recalled in the US over concerns of engine failure. A manufacturing defect could increase the likelihood of engine damage or failure, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall includes the 2021-2024 Rogue, 2019-2020 Altima, 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50 and 2022 Infiniti QX55. All vehicles have either a three-cylinder, 1.5 litre or four-cylinder, two litre variable compression turbo engine. Drivers could take their cars into a dealership for inspection and repair if needed.
