Cyril Ramaphosa hails Proteas after World Test Championship win
President Cyril Ramaphosa has congratulated the Proteas on their historic victory in the ICC World Test Championship final, after a five-wicket win over Australia at Lord's on Saturday.
South Africa beat Australia on the fourth day, through a superb team effort at the home of cricket.

'Your win is a major boost for cricket in South Africa, and you have inspired a new generation of cricketers. I call on the nation to come and greet the cricket world champions when they arrive back in the country this week,' the President said in a statement.
The President described the win as being built around excellent performances by the batsmen in the second innings.
Aiden Markram scored 136 while captain Temba Bavuma added an invaluable 66 runs.
Their match-winning partnership was pivotal in the team's success.
The bowlers, led by Kagiso Rabada, also kept the pressure on the Australian batsmen and never allowed them to dominate.
'Coach Shukri Conrad, captain Bavuma and the team have done South Africa proud. They started the match as underdogs but that indomitable spirit, that is a characteristic of our nation, carried the team through. The Proteas underlined the importance of being focused on the field and triumphed,' Cyril Ramaphosa concluded.

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Thabo Cele has indicated that he would do anything possible to represent Bafana Bafana. The 28-year-old has made a few appearances for the national team but has not been in Hugo Broos' plans for years. He was recently called to the Bafana Bafana's COSAFA Cup squad but withdrew due to injury. 'I do watch Bafana games because it's football and I support the national team. I want to be part of that. When we grow up as young boys, we have dreams of representing the country. 'So, this is something I've been fighting for even with the Under-20s and U-23s. Even the soldiers, when they go to fight, wear a South African badge. So we want to be part of that,' Cele said. With positions at Bafana Bafana heavily contested, it would be tough for the Kaizer Chiefs midfielder to break through. Tough schedule revealed for Proteas at Women's Cricket World Cup

Picture: Isuru Sameera/Gallo Images The Proteas will need to be ready to do some travelling between games, it was revealed on Monday, with the International Cricket Council (ICC) announcing the fixtures for the Women's Cricket World Cup to be played in India and Sri Lanka later this year. The eight teams in the tournament will compete in a round-robin stage, with the top four sides qualifying for the semifinals, and the SA squad will play their first three games in different cities. They open their campaign against England in Bengaluru on 3 October, before moving on to Indore for a clash with New Zealand three days later, followed by a match against India in Vizag on 9 October. They will then have a chance to settle in, however, as they spend a week in Vizag (with another game against Bangladesh on 13 October). But they must then pack their bags again and cross borders, heading to Colombo for fixtures against Sri Lanka on 17 October and Pakistan four days later. Then they return to Indore for what could be a crunch match against defending champions Australia on 25 October. Playoff venues If they progress to the semifinals, the SA women will have to travel again, with one game being played in Bengaluru and the other in either Colombo or Guwahati. The tournament final is scheduled for 2 November in either Bengaluru or Colombo. The only one of the five host venues in the tournament where the Proteas might not play is Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati. It was also confirmed yesterday that India will take on co-hosts Sri Lanka in the opening match of the global showpiece in Bengaluru on 30 September 2025. Having reached the semifinals at the last two editions of the 50-over Cricket World Cup, in 2017 and 2022, the Proteas will be aiming to progress to the final for the first time. Orlando Pirates: Big-names who WON't coach the Bucs
Some of the biggest names in the SA football have been linked with the Orlando Pirates job. Orlando Pirates are actively searching for a new coach. Furthermore, the next coach will have massive boots to fill following the departure of Spaniard, Jose Riveiro. As mentioned, several massive names have been linked with Pirates including Pitso Mosimane, Rulani Mokwena, Benni McCarthy and Manqoba Mngqithi. However, some of these men are not in contention due to current circumstances. Bucs legend, Benni McCarthy will not be coaching Olando Pirates next season. This is because the Bafana Bafana and Bucs legend has recently started his next coaching job. McCarthy is now in charge of Kenya. So, all reported links have now been outrightly dismissed. However, this does not mean he will never return to Mayfair. It just means McCarthy will not be coming back to Pirates any time soon. EX-SUNDOWNS COACH RULED OUT OF CONTENTION Manqoba Mngqithi will also not be coaching Pirates next season. Moreover, the ex-Sundowns coach has just started coaching PSL rivals, Golden Arrows. Meaning, he is committed to his next coaching journal with the KwaZulu Natal-based outfit. Initially, Manqoba was one of the big names linked with the Pirates hot seat. However, similarly to McCarthy he is also no longer in the running for the Bucs hot seat. Meaning, Rulani Mokwena and Pitso Mosimane are still technically in the running for the Pirates job. Meawhile, Mandla Ncikazi and Carlos Nodar Paz join the likes of Pablo Franco Martin, Florent Ibenge and German tactician, Marco Rose.
