Iran missile barrage leaves 19 injured in Israel's Haifa: hospital
At least one projectile appeared to evade Israel's air defences, slamming into an area by the docks of Haifa where it damaged a building and blew out windows, littering the nearby ground with rubble, AFP images showed.
A spokesman for the city's Rambam hospital said 19 people had been injured, with one in a serious condition.
Earlier, Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service reported two people had been injured by falling shrapnel after the attack but did not specify the location.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog said in a statement that Haifa's Al-Jarina mosque "was struck by an Iranian missile, injuring Muslim clerics and worshippers at prayer".
Foreign Minister Gideon Saar later shared a similar message on social media, adding that "the Iranian regime is targeting Muslim, Christian and Jewish civilians, as well as civilian sites. These are war crimes."
A military official said that "approximately 20 missiles were launched towards Israel" in the latest Iranian salvo.
Around 20 minutes after the air raid sirens were activated, the army released a statement saying people were allowed to leave bomb shelters.
Earlier Friday, sirens rang out in parts of the country following another Iranian missile launch.
AFP footage showed police operating in the southern Israeli city of Beersheba, alongside emergency response teams and bomb disposal expert.
Security forces there inspected a crater near residential buildings, where the wreckage of charred cars lay below the mangled metal of destroyed balconies.
The Soroka Hospital in the city was struck on Thursday, injuring 40 people.
Israel, saying Iran was on the verge of developing nuclear weapons, launched a massive wave of strikes on June 13, triggering an immediate retaliation from Tehran.
Residential areas in both countries have suffered, while Israel and Iran have traded accusations of targeting civilians.
At least 25 people have been killed in Israel by Iranian missile strikes, according to authorities.

Israel to mobilise 60,000 reservists ahead of Gaza City operation
Israel is preparing to launch an expanded military operation in Gaza City, saying it will call up 60,000 reservists as negotiators scramble to strike a ceasefire to end 22 months of fighting between Israel and Hamas. The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said on Wednesday that the Defence Minister Israel Katz has approved plans to begin a new phase of operations in one of Gaza's most densely populated areas, and that it would also lengthen the service of an additional 20,000 reservists currently part of its forces. It comes as human rights groups warn that a humanitarian crisis could worsen in the Strip, where most residents have been displaced, vast neighbourhoods lie in ruins and communities are facing the threat of famine. An Israeli army official, speaking on the condition of anonymity in line with military regulations, said that forces will be stationed in parts of Gaza City where the IDF has not yet operated and where it believes Hamas is still active. The official said that Israeli troops are already operating in the Zeitoun and Jabaliya neighbourhoods of Gaza City to prepare the groundwork for the expanded operation, which is expected to receive approval from the chief of staff in the coming days. Gaza City is Hamas' main military and governing stronghold and Israeli troops will be targeting the militant group's vast underground tunnel network, the official added. Although Israel has targeted and killed much of Hamas' senior leadership, parts of it are actively regrouping and carrying out attacks, including launching rockets towards Israel, according to the official. Operation could begin within days It remains unclear when the operation will begin, but it is thought it could be in a matter of days. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has consistently said the main objectives of the war are to secure the release of the remaining hostages and ensure Hamas and other militants can never again threaten Israel. The planned offensive, first announced earlier this month, has heightened international concerns, fuelling fears of another mass displacement among Palestinians. Netanyahu said on 9 August that it would span parts of Gaza City and the central camps. Hundreds of thousands of displaced people are sheltering in the city and it holds some of the last remnants of critical infrastructure. Some reservists question war's goals The call-up comes against a backdrop of a growing campaign of exhausted reservists accusing the government of perpetuating the war for political reasons and failing to bring home the remaining hostages. The families of the hostages and former army and intelligence chiefs have also expressed opposition to the expanded operation in Gaza City. Most of the families of the hostages want an immediate ceasefire and worry an expanded assault could endanger the lives of the 50 hostages still in Gaza. Israel believes that 20 of them are still alive. The former military and intelligence chiefs are sceptical that the goal of completely destroying Hamas is attainable. Former Shin Bet head Yoram Cohen called it a "fantasy," saying that "if anyone imagines that we can reach every terrorist and every pit and every weapon, and in parallel bring our hostages home — I think it is impossible."

Norway's sovereign wealth fund to divest from six Israeli companies
Weighing in at over 20 trillion kroner (€1.67 trillion), Norway's sovereign wealth fund, fueled by the Scandinavian kingdom's oil and gas revenues, is the largest investment fund in the world. Since the spring, a growing number of voices in Norway and abroad have called for it to divest from Israeli companies. On Monday, August 18, the fund announced it would exclude six such companies from its portfolio "with connections to the West Bank and Gaza," following recommendations from its ethics committee. In a letter to the Ministry of Finance, Nicolai Tangen, the head of the fund, and Ida Wolden Bache, the governor of the central bank, Norges Bank, specified that since June 30, the fund has sold its holdings in 23 publicly traded Israeli companies, representing a value of 4 billion kroner. As of August 14, it still held 19 billion kroner invested in 38 Israeli companies, out of more than 8,600 companies worldwide. At a press conference on Monday, Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg did not rule out further sales of shares in other companies, should the fund's ethics committee, which ensures a responsible investment strategy, deem it necessary. The minister denied that these divestments amounted to "politicization" of the fund, insisting that the decision was made on the basis of "established procedures."
