Hundreds of mourners turned out today for the funeral of Abdur, who had only celebrated his fourth birthday at the weekend.
Shocked locals joined grieving family and friends for funeral prayers at Mullingar's Islamic Cultural Society Centre.
Heartbroken relatives told how Abdur was 'loved by all who knew him'.

The Islamic community was rallying around the youngster's anguished parents who have been plunged into mourning just four weeks after welcoming a new baby.

The club said: 'The club is extremely shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic passing of young Abdur, son of club member Pir Abdullah Naeem.

'LOVED BY EVERYONE'
As the garda probe continued, devastated neighbours told how Abdur was 'loved by everyone' and regularly enjoyed playing on his beloved scooter outside his house.
And friends of the little boy's family revealed the youngster had only celebrated his fourth birthday over the Easter bank holiday weekend.

Fighting back tears, family friend Naveed Iqbal told how Abdur had not even opened all his birthday presents.
Mr Iqbal said: 'They (the family) were keeping some for him so he could open one every day.
'The family just moved here a few months ago. We helped them move.
'They are a hardworking family, same as everyone here.

'It's so sad for everyone. His birthday party was on Saturday. He was still to open some gifts. There are no words.'

Man due for release in weeks was set upon by four inmates in exercise yard Killer Stephen Kearney was attacked in an exercise yard at Mountjoy Prison A prisoner who killed a man by stomping on his head is today fighting for his life in hospital, while a second convicted killer sustained a broken jaw in unrelated and savage attacks in Irish prisons. Stephen Kearney (39) from Coultry Drive, Ballymun – who had been due to be released from Mountjoy Prison later this month – was set upon by four inmates in an exercise yard in the prison on Friday evening. Sources say the attack is believed to be linked to a row among prisoners. Kearney is currently being treated at Beaumont Hospital where it's understood he is in a critical condition. Mountjoy Prison In a statement, a spokesperson for the IPS confirmed: 'The Irish Prison Service can confirm that an incident occurred at Mountjoy Prison on June 6 involving a prisoner. The incident has been referred to An Garda Síochána.' Kearney is extremely well known to Gardaí having clocked up in excess of 120 convictions over the past 20 years. His most serious conviction, for manslaughter, dates from October 2004 for which he received a nine-year sentence in May 2006. Kearney, then aged 20, admitted to killing Francis Gallagher (18) at Coultry Road on October 25, 2004. His victim had extensive head injuries, including bruising and swelling to his brain, bruises and cuts to his face and a fractured cheek bone. His skull was intact and there was no evidence of a weapon having been used. Kearney later admitted to gardaí he had attacked Mr Gallagher, saying he punched him in the face which sent him to the ground and then kicked him six times in the head. He also admitted to stamping on his victim's head and kicking him in the sides and the ribs. His trial heard Kearney was very remorseful. He had tried to commit suicide at the Garda station. After his release from prison, Kearney continued to offend. In 2020, he was jailed for a year after he robbed a shop. Around the same time Kearney was attacked in Mountjoy, and in an unrelated attack, convicted killer Darren Murphy (47) was set upon on the A2 landing in the Midlands as he was making his way to dinner. Murphy is serving life for the murder of his partner Olivia Dunlea, who he stabbed six times in the neck and left to die in a burning house. A woman who was in the grip of a 'chaotic lifestyle' spat at the manager and security guard of a midlands based department store after becoming "abusive and very threatening' towards its staff, a court has heard. Kathleen Delaney, of Midland Court, Longford appeared at a sitting of Longford District Court where she pleaded guilty to assault and using threatening or insulting behaviour during an incident at Penneys, Longford Centre, Longford on August 15, 2022. Delaney, the court heard, had been in the vicinity of the midlands town's shopping centre shortly before midday when a verbal exchange between the accused and staff unfolded. Kathleen Delaney spat at both the manager and security personnel of Penneys in Longford town after becoming "abusive and very threatening", a court was told. Sgt Enda Daly, in presenting the State's case, said the 46-year-old suddenly became 'abusive and very threatening' towards security and the manager of Penneys. He said that altercation resulted in the accused spitting at a member of the store's security personnel and its manager in an episode which later led to Delaney being issued with an assault summons alongside an accompanying one for public order. Ms Mimnagh added how her client had managed to turn her life around by steering clear of any garda attention for a 'considerable length of time'. Kathleen Delaney was ordered to engage with probation services for the purposes of a restorative justice report. In delivering her verdict, Judge Gearty said the case was one which merited Delaney engaging with probation in an attempt to understand the error of her ways by also perhaps reaching out to her male victim or by making a donation to charity. 'Restorative justice is one of the buzz words that's floating around at the minute and it strikes me that this is a situation that if (she) is apologetic for what she has done she could write him a letter (or) she could make a donation to the charity of his choice,' she said. Delaney was remanded on bail to appear back before a sitting of Longford District Court on September 2 for the preparation of a restorative justice report.
