NCC cadets honour 1965 Indo-Pak war heroes
According to an NCC official, around 1,000 cadets from various govt and private colleges and schools of Ludhiana participated in the function. He said the ceremony began with the flag hoisting and wreath-laying at the war memorial.
War veterans, military officials, and families of the fallen heroes gathered to pay tribute. "Emotional speeches by retired officers highlighted the bravery and unity shown during the war," the official said.
As part of the commemoration, cadets visited the Dholewal Military Complex, where they saw a display of military equipment used during the war. According to an NCC official, the exhibition included tanks, artillery, uniforms, and other historic items, helping the cadets understand the strength and dedication of the armed forces.
The programme ended with a candlelight vigil and a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs. This commemoration not only honoured the past but also inspired the younger generation to carry forward the spirit of patriotism and national pride.
