This role is unlike anything I've done before: Karan Veer Mehra on playing the antagonist in Omung Kumar's next
Karan Veer Mehra
After making a mark on Hindi television,
Karan Veer Mehra
is gearing up for a significant second chapter in Bollywood. Fresh off his back-to-back appearances on Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 and Bigg Boss 18, the actor has been consciously navigating his next move.
It was recently revealed that he will feature in
Omung Kumar
's upcoming romantic action drama, co-starring
Harshvardhan Rane
, Sadia Khateeb, and Ipsitaa.
While the project remains largely under wraps, sources confirm that Karan has been cast as the antagonist — a role that marks a sharp departure from his previous work.
Karan with Omung Kumar
Director Omung Kumar tells us, 'I first noticed Karan Veer's quiet intensity during Bigg Boss, and it stayed with me. When this project came up, he fit right into the world we were building.
His raw screen presence and ability to command attention, coupled with a grounded clarity, made him a natural choice. That's exactly what the role demanded.'
Interestingly, Karan had reached out to Omung as part of his efforts to explore more diverse roles. Reflecting on their first conversation, he says, 'I don't hesitate to reach out when I believe in something. I told Omung sir I'd love to work with him — even if it meant playing a tree.

A few days later, he called me and offered the antagonist's part. This role is unlike anything I've done before. While I can't reveal much until the official announcement, I can say that this film is going to be visually and emotionally striking.
'
On the work front, Karan, who began his acting career on television with Remix, has been part of several daily soaps such as Pavitra Rishta, TV Biwi Aur Main, Ziddi Dil Maane Na, Woh Toh Hai Albelaa, Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si, and Pukaar - Dil Se Dil Tak. He has also appeared in films like Pathan, Drona, No One Killed Jessica, and Mere Dad Ki Maruti.

Palak Tiwari says she never asked Salman Khan for fees as assistant director on Antim: ‘I'm in his presence, you think I'll ask fro money?'
Palak Tiwari made her acting debut in Farhad Samji's 2023 action comedy Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, headlined by Salman Khan. Prior to that, she worked as an assistant director on Salman's 2019 production, Antim: The Final Truth, Mahesh Manjrekar's action film which starred Salman's brother-in-law Ayush Sharma alongside the superstar. Palak has now revealed that she didn't charge a penny for her role on the sets of Antim. 'Paisa kya hota hai (What's money)? I'm in Salman sir's presence, you think I'll ask for money? Why, I've never asked for money, ever! You can, Salman sir would say, 'Sure.' But main kya bachchi, main kya hi contribute karungi ki wo mujhe paise de yaar (I was a kid, how would I have contributed that they'd pay me),' she said. In the interview with Mashable India, Palak was all praise for Salman. 'I've done a whole film with him, whenever I meet him till date, or even if I get a message from him, I get star struck. I usually don't get star struck, you can make anyone sit in front of me. But when he's in front of me, I stop speaking and start stuttering. He just changed my entire personality. Then he said, 'Aaram se bolo (speak without hesitation).'' 'I'm a closeted Salman sir fan. I'm not keeping it a secret anymore. But everybody knows I'm a super fan,' added Palak, explaining her state of mind when Salman offered him a role in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. 'I get paid to be around Salman sir for three months. Main toh kar rahi hu (I'm doing the film). It was a great experience for me. I learnt a lot. I made very good friends. It was a very good introduction to the industry. It felt like a debutante ball,' expressed Palak. She recalled how Salman would pamper them in Goregaon Film City while shooting for his popular reality show Bigg Boss, which he hosts. 'We used to chill there. He used to make us gym there and feed us sweets,' she said. Palak revealed that she's had the best food of her life made at Salman's home. 'He doesn't restrain himself. He doesn't believe in diets. That's why his body is so good,' pointed out Palak. She learnt from Salman not to torture your body, but to keep it happy so that it can keep you happy. He's my idol,' Palak said. She clarified that she's not in touch with Salman on a daily basis. 'Salman sir is Salman sir! If he has something to say to you, he'll say it to you. Salman sir is like this omnipresent deity, he takes care of everyone. He's just a very kind man. He has a sense of what you're going through, so he'll ask you, 'You're doing good?' Whenever he asks you that, just know he's there for you,' added Palak.

‘Karan Johar will still have creative control': Adar Poonawalla reveals Dharma Productions' future plans, says overspending is an issue
Serum Institute of India's Adar Poonawalla, who recently bought a 50% stake in Dharma Productions, opened up about scaling the business up. He said that creative control will remain in Karan Johar's hands, and that they want to open a music label in the near future, while attempting to penetrate smaller towns in India. Adar Poonawalla entered the business for Rs 1,000 crore, and said in a recent interview with journalist Barkha Dutt on MojoStory that he'd known Karan for over a decade. 'We're quite well aligned, and it was easy for us to partner,' he said. He continued, 'The reason I did it was that I felt our ability to tell stories, to show the world what's happening in our nation, and bringing to light what would have been missed, he's very good at doing that. He's told a lot of emotional stories in movies on family, on romance. It's also a soft power, and it gives you access to people you wouldn't normally come across… It's a very interesting space, and don't forget, we're very under-penetrated today. People will start watching films on pay-per-view, if you start looking at the data… The penetration of our screens is just 15 or 20%.' Also read – 'No ego between Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh': Karan Johar says stars hang out together; reveals he has no 'gile-shikve' with Kartik Aaryan anymore Adar said that Karan will have creative control, but that he has the freedom to chime in with creative inputs from time to time. 'Traditionally, it was theatres, then came OTT. I think it can further penetrate in the rural areas, where business will do well… It's all about having the right budgets for films, and not overspending… One of our understandings was that Karan will have full creative freedom. We're building other verticals of distribution, like a music label that he's working on. Increasing production of content is also the name of the game.' In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Karan highlighted the 'herd mentality' of the film industry as one of the biggest reasons why movies aren't doing as well as they used to. 'We see Pushpa running and catering so strongly to the tier two and tier three audiences. Suddenly there'll be 20 others wanting to do the same. You see Chhaava working, and everybody will want to make historical dramas. After Stree, everybody wants to make horror comedies. Those worked because they were individually strong, and there was no other option in that genre. And it was a unique thought that made those films work. We all have individual thoughts that are unique to ourselves,' he said.

Kash Patel's fashion statement: From FBI boss to MAGA merch guy
Kash Patel isn't just making waves in politics—he's making them in fashion too. Yeah, we're talking about the current FBI Director (and Trump favorite) who's just as comfortable in a tailored suit as he is in a meme-worthy t-shirt. From courtroom chic to merch mogul vibes, Kash's style tells its own wild story. The suit game: Classic… with a dash of Kash When it's time to be official, Kash rolls out in the classics—sharp suits, clean white shirts, and bold ties. The kind of outfit that says 'I mean business.' But look closer and you'll spot the personal touches. Like at his confirmation hearings—red power tie, American flag pin—basically screaming, 'I'm patriotic and not afraid to show it.' It's the little things that give away where his loyalties lie, and he's not shy about it. The merch madness Now here's where it gets interesting. Kash isn't just about suits—he's also low-key (or maybe not-so-low-key) cashing in on his political brand. He's got a foundation, and that foundation is putting money into an online store run by a buddy of his. The name? Based Apparel. The goods? MAGA-themed t-shirts and hoodies, with slogans like—you guessed it—'Female Body Inspector.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like How Middle-Class Americans Waste Money [Learn More] DollarPerks Learn More Undo Yup, that old frat-boy joke somehow made it into his merch line, and surprise, not everyone thinks it's funny. Critics called it tacky, even inappropriate, especially for someone heading up the FBI. But Kash? He's leaned into it. After all, controversy sells—and so does MAGA. The Shein surprise Then there's the international angle. Turns out Patel had a consulting gig with Shein—you know, the Chinese fast-fashion giant known for cranking out trendy clothes and, um, questionable labor practices. He reportedly walked away with stock valued somewhere between $1 and $5 million. Not bad, huh? But here's the thing: people weren't thrilled about a top U.S. law enforcement official doing side gigs with a company that's constantly in hot water. Still, Kash hasn't exactly backed away from it. It's all part of the hustle. Proudly desi Fashion for Kash isn't just political—it's personal too. As an Indian-American, he sometimes throws in subtle nods to his heritage. Think: kurta for Diwali, saffron-colored ties during Hindu festivals, maybe even the occasional 'Jai Shri Ram' post on social media. He's not walking around in full Bollywood gear every day, but he knows how to blend cultural pride into his look without making it feel like a costume. His supporters love it, and it's become part of his personal brand—equal parts FBI and desi pride. And who could forget the Bollywood moment? After he was tapped as FBI Director, Dan Scavino (one of Trump's old media guys) shared a hilarious deepfake-style video of Kash's face pasted onto a scene from Bajirao Mastani. The song? 'Malhari'—a straight-up victory anthem. The video went viral fast. People couldn't decide if it was cringe or genius, but one thing's for sure—it made Kash look like a Bollywood boss. And maybe that was the point. The infamous T-shirt moment One of Kash's most talked-about 'looks' wasn't even at a political event. It was a candid moment: him, in a 'Female Body Inspector' t-shirt. Yep. That shirt. It popped up online and exploded across social media. Some folks laughed it off, others cringed hard. For a guy running the FBI, it felt a little… off-brand. But if you know anything about Kash Patel, you know he's not trying to fit into anyone else's box. That shirt? Probably just another way to keep people talking. At the end of the day, Kash Patel's wardrobe is doing way more than just covering his back. It's a toolkit—for branding, for messaging, for stirring the pot. Whether he's rocking a D.C. suit, a controversial hoodie, or bringing a little Bollywood flair into government halls, Patel's style is always saying something. You might love it, hate it, or just roll your eyes, but you can't ignore it. And really, that's kind of the point. One step to a healthier you—join Times Health+ Yoga and feel the change
