SEBI warns investors of Strata SM REITS as it surrenders registration
Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) warned investors of Strata SM REITS that the application to surrender registration was accepted by the market regulator.
SEBI's decision follows 'certain news reports and review of certain legal proceedings against the promoter', according to a statement from SEBI.
'SEBI engaged with Strata SM REIT, its independent director, compliance and other officers and the trustee. Basis the engagement and discussions thereat, Strata SM REIT has surrendered its certificate of registration as an SM REIT and will not hold out or represent itself as a SEBI-regulated intermediary or SM REIT,' SEBI said in its release. Strata has not launched any scheme.
Strata received license for SM REIT in January 2025.

Unlike the traditional route, which requires companies to launch their IPOs within 12 months of receiving Sebi's approval, the pre-filing route extends this window to 18 months from the receipt of final comments. Meenakshi Alternates launches realty-focused ₹700 crore AIF
NEW DELHI: Hyderabad-based Meenakshi Group has launched its new financial services arm - Meenakshi Alternates (M-Alts) and its fund Meenakshi Real Assets Fund for investments in real estate across top-tier cities in India. This SEBI-approved Category II AIF will target a mix of debt and equity investments with a total corpus of ₹700 crore (including a ₹350 crore greenshoe option). Meenakshi Group has committed up to 20% of the fund size as sponsor capital. The fund will focus on self-liquidating real estate assets that offer both consistent cash flows and equity upside. The fund aims to allocate capital to tier I developers with individual investments of up to ₹70 crore per transaction. "Currently, we have three potential deals under due diligence, and we have secured soft commitments from the Meenakshi Group, its network, and early investors," said Mahesh Katragadda , CEO of Meenakshi Alternates.

Markets regulator Sebi on Monday tweaked the investor charter for investment advisers and research analysts to enhance financial inclusion and financial literacy. This came in view of the recent developments in the securities market, including the introduction of the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform and SCORES 2.0 -- a web-based centralised grievance redressal system of Sebi. Download ETLegalWorld App Get Realtime updates Save your favourite articles The modified charter includes vision, mission, services provided to investors and details of business transacted by investment advisers (IAs) /research analysts with respect to their investors, according to separate it includes rights and responsibilities of investors; details of redressal mechanism available to investors and how to access it, along with formats for investors complaints data to be disclosed monthly by IAs and RAs on their website and mobile applications and trend of annual disposal of markets regulator has investment advisers and research analysts to bring the investor charter to the notice of their clients (existing as well as new clients) by disclosing the charter on their respective websites and mobile they have been asked to make the charter available at prominent places in the office and provide a copy of the charter as a part of the client onboarding process, through e-mails or letters ensure transparency in the Investor Grievance Redressal Mechanism, all IAs and RAs will continue to disclose on their respective websites and mobile applications the data on complaints received against them or against issues dealt by them and redressal thereof, latest by the 7th of the succeeding month in a prescribed format, Sebi in December 2021, issued an investor charter for IAs and RAs detailing the services provided to investors and, the rights of investors, among was aimed at facilitating investor awareness about various activities which an investor deals with, such as the opening of an account, KYC and in-person verification, complaint resolution, issuance of contract notes and various statements.
