Tributes paid to This Morning star feared dead in Air India plane crash

Former This Morning editor Martin Frizell has paid tribute to a former guest who is thought to have died in the Air India crash earlier today. It comes following the news of the fatal flight. Fiongal Greenlaw, 39, and his husband Jamie Meek, 45, are thought to have been on board the flight, bound for London's Gatwick Airport, which went down shortly after take-off. They are said to have been on holiday in India. The couple co-founded a wellness brand together, which had been promoted on This Morning. Martin, 66, who had been the editor of the ITV show until he stepped down earlier this year, paid tribute in a post on Instagram this afternoon. He included a photo of Fiongal alongside hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley in the studio. Martin wrote in the caption that he had a "vibrancy" and "sheer enthusiasm" when he had featured as a guest on the show back in January. Martin wrote: "So so sad to hear that Fiongal Greenlaw Meek and his partner are reported to be among the passengers and crew killed today on board the Air India flight bound for Gatwick. I remember his visit to the studio in January, he was passionate about auras and although I'm a sceptical sort his vibrancy and sheer enthusiasm won folk over." He continued: "And I know for a fact that he hoped to use his appearance on This Morning to build his Wellness brand, he had a great future ahead of him. Thoughts are with his family and friends and those of his partner Jamie." Among those who have liked Martin's post is Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid. Lisa Snowdon, who has appeared on the show on numerous occasions, reacted in the comments with a teary-eyed emoji and one of a broken heart, Mirror UK reports. Fiongal appeared as a guest on This Morning in January. During the episode, he gave hosts Ben and Cat a reading over their auras. Martin was still the editor of the long-running show at the time, prior to his final day in the role in February. The guest later returned following Martin's departure for another segment. He was brought back as a spiritual advisor on the show in April, with him appearing alongside Ben, Cat and Josie Gibson in the TV studio based in London. After his first visit, a post shared by his wellness brand the Wellness Foundry on Instagram read: "So this happened ... The biggest gig so far! Fiongal on This Morning - it was very nerve-wracking but he was honoured to chat about one of his favourite topics to such a big audience." In an apparent message for him, the post on the platform continued: "Thank you to everyone [at] This Morning for being so amazing and guiding me through. Thank you to [Cat and Ben] for being so kind and welcoming." Fiongal and Jamie are among those thought to have died in the plane crash earlier today. As previously reported, the couple had posted a video from Ahmedabad airport just moments before boarding the plane. They had been visiting India together. In the video shared from the airport, Fiongal and Jamie were seen smiling as they prepared to fly home. They are said to have spoken about their time away together in the video message. In the clip, Fiongal reportedly says: "We are at the airport just boarding. Goodbye India. Ten-hour flight back to England. What was your biggest takeaway Jamie?" Jamie replies: "I don't know." It prompts laughter from Fiongal, who responds to his husband: "Thanks for your contribution." Fiongal then teases that his takeaway was "don't lose your patience with your partner". Jamie replies: "You snapped at me at the airport for having chai." Surrounded by fellow travellers, the clip ends with Fiongal saying he's returning to the UK "happily, happily calm".

I've always loved Stacey Solomon. But the bikini pics have led me to a startling realisation… and deep unease

I LOVE Stacey Solomon, I really do. I've known her since she was on The X Factor as an ambitious 20-year-old and felt for her when her latest reality show 'Stacey and Joe' was slammed - why, then, did the pics of her glorious curves this week hit me like a ton of bricks? Advertisement 6 Stacey Solomon wore an orange bikini while on holiday in Lake Como, Italy, this week Credit: BackGrid 6 The TV star looked healthy and carefree as she soaked up the sun on her break Credit: BackGrid 6 But Stacey was abused by vile trolls for showing off her natural body Credit: BackGrid As she posed in her orange bikini on holiday in Lake Como this week, she looked happy, healthy and carefree. Sadly the vile trolls unleashed a torrent of abuse on her with one cruelly saying "She's let herself go" while another added "Ozempic needed". Advertisement And as I absorbed the comments, it hit me how long it had been since I had seen a celebrity body that looked like my own. Recently it feels like on social media I am constantly bombarded with tiny toned bodies, perfect pert bums and impossibly flat stomachs. Even when I put down my phone it's on our TV screens as the new season of Love Island kicked off with girls in barely-there bikinis and not one belly roll in sight. It's quite a worrying trend and it's left me feeling uneasy that being thin is so back en vogue . I grew up in the era where pals lived by Kate Moss's mantra 'Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels'. Advertisement Having struggled with my weight since my teens and having tried (and failed) to do every fad diet going, I've always felt inadequate. I was grateful for the rise of the body confident movement, and I totally embraced it. Finally I could feel comfortable in my own skin because celebrities like Adele, But over the last 12 months I've seen curvier (and actually not-so-curvy) celebs slim down at an accelerated rate with the rise of fat jabs. Everyone has the right to do what they want with their bodies and lose weight however they choose and there are certainly health benefits to slimming down. Advertisement Stacey Solomon looks incredible as she strips off to black bikini and jumps off a bridge in Italy But this new quick fix means our celebrities are smaller than ever and I think it's making people forget what real women look like. The cult of thin is back in such a big way and it's depressing for those who aren't getting on board and sacrificing themselves to weight loss injections in a bid to be a skinny minny. Stacey, who is a busy mum to Zachary, 17, Leighton, 12, Rex, five, Rose, three and two-year-old Belle, has never shied away from celebrating her 'mum bod'. Stacey's success is not determined by the size on her clothes label And it is refreshing to It makes me feel that it would be OK for me to get my body out this summer on holiday. Advertisement Two years ago, the 35-year-old, who is married to Joe Swash, revealed to her followers The average woman in the UK is a size 16 so while she is still smaller than most women, she is still being judged. The Loose Women star is also maintaining a healthy lifestyle, often working out in her newly built home gym where she aims to be strong not skinny. Standing in front of a mirror she said: 'I thought it was really important to come on here and say when I take the gym clothes off I look like this…' before pulling down her leggings down past her hips to show off unfiltered and non-photoshopped body. She added, '...Which is also really pretty and a really lovely body and I just feel like it's important to show that.' Advertisement Stacey is one of our most successful Brit celebrities with over 6.1m followers. Strong not skinny She's got a host of TV shows and successful brand deals and is even rumoured to be taking part in this year's Strictly Come Dancing. In a sea of size zero Stacey's success is not determined by the size on her label. I'm grateful, like many other women, that she prefers to give us an injection of her relatable and funny personality rather than injecting a weight loss drug into her body!
