One person was arrested following the violent attack, which took place at around 4.30pm local time.
Stab victims were given first aid at the scene and police cordoned off the surrounding area - though it was not immediately clear how many casualties there are.
Photos from the scene show blood staining the terrace outside the shops.
One witness told Finnish news outlet Ilta-Sanomat that there was "a lot of blood" at the scene and described seeing two victims receiving first aid treatment on the ground.

Police reassured the public this afternoon that they had the situation under control.
A spokesperson said: "The situation no longer poses a danger to outsiders. The victims are being given first aid."
Local cops have launched an investigation and are understood to be interviewing witnesses.

Several reported to have been stabbed near shopping centre in Finnish city
Several people have been stabbed near a shopping centre in the southern Finnish city of Tampere, according to reports. One person was arrested, police said, though they provided no details. News outlets said the suspect was a man. It was not immediately clear how many people were injured in the attack but police said there was no longer any threat to the public.
