CT man charged after swastikas painted on lawn
A Woodbridge man is facing several charges after police allege he spray painted swastikas on the front lawn of a property, according to officials.
Philip Bachelder, 30, has been arrested and is charged with second-degree intimidation based on bigotry or bias, third-degree criminal mischief, simple trespass, and disorderly conduct, according to the Woodbridge Police Department.
On March 13, around 9:15 p.m., members of the Woodbridge Police Department responded to the intersection of Johnson and Pease Roads on a report of vandalism. Responding officers met with a witness who said he was traveling on Johnson Road when he saw a man spray painting a resident's lawn. The witness alleged that they saw the man discard two cans of red spray paint on the ground. Bachelder was still on scene as police arrived, according to officials.
Responding officers discovered several 'We Stand With America' signs which were spray painted in red with the words 'Nazi' and 'Pedo.' Also depicted on the signs in red spray paint were several swastikas.
Bachelder has been released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on March 27, in New Haven Superior Court.

WATCH: Video of Woods Cross helicopter crash aftermath Friday morning
WOODS CROSS, Utah () — Police said a pilot at the SkyPark Airport in Woods Cross is very lucky after his helicopter crashed on takeoff early Friday morning. The aftermath of the crash can be seen on video. Video courtesy of Keaton Hoskins The helicopter is on the ground, laying on its side, and the rotors have broken off. The tail of the helicopter can be seen snapped in half. The bottom railing of the helicopter was also separated from the body of the aircraft. Debris is scattered around the scene. Sean Jones, an officer with the Woods Cross Police Department, said the pilot was taking off from the regional airport when he main rotor of the helicopter clipped the airplane hangar. The collision reportedly destroyed the rotor and caused the tail of the helicopter to break off, demolishing the vehicle. The pilot, who was the only occupant of the helicopter, was able to walk away from the crash with only minor scratches. The Department of Homeland Security has revealed the identities of the four migrants who escaped a Newark ICE facility on Thursday night, identifying all four as "public safety threats" who are still at large. The agency is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the four migrants who broke out of Delaney Hall, a privately run ICE detention facility on Thursday night, amid chaotic scenes both inside and outside the facility. According to DHS, "the four criminal illegal aliens currently evading federal law enforcement are public safety threats." DHS identified the four escaped migrants as Honduran illegals Franklin Norberto Bautista-Reyes and Joel Enrique Sandoval-Lopez and Colombian illegals Joan Sebastian Castaneda-Lozada and Andres Pineda-Mogollon, each of whom has previously been arrested for felony offenses including aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a handgun and terroristic threats. In a Friday statement, a senior DHS official said that "DHS has become aware of four detainees at the privately held Delaney Hall Detention Facility escaping" and that "additional law enforcement partners have been brought in to find these escapees and a BOLO has been disseminated."
