Michael Bracewell mistakenly tried to review a clean-bowled dismissal in a 2025 MLC. His reaction after he got to know said it all!
MI New York batter Michael Bracewell had to walk back red-faced and with a sheepish smile after mistakenly trying to review a clean-bowled in a 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) match against San Francisco Unicorns on Tuesday (June 24). He was out for a golden duck in a big 47-run loss for the New Yorkers.
It happened on the second ball of the 17th over with MI attempting to chase the steep target of 247 set by the Unicorns. Bracewell faced Romario Shepherd for his first ball, who had gotten rid of the well-set Quinton de Kock on the previous delivery. Bracewell got a skiddy straight ball on his off-stump and tried to swipe it to the leg-side but missed the bounce, letting the rock sneak under his blade to clatter the off-stump.
MI were already quite behind the contest before that over, but by taking two wickets and leaking just two runs, Shepherd put the final nail in the coffin. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans would be quite aware of his impact in such situations both with bat and ball as he did the same for them in IPL 2025.
'Tough day for us, credit to them," MI captain Nicholas Pooran reflected after the match, as quoted by Cricbuzz. 'We didn't execute our plans as a bowling group. If we chased that down, it would be a great chase. The opening partnership gave us a chance, but credit to them, they bowled well in the middle phase."
MI have managed to win just one of their five games so far.
'We've had some tough games, it is challenging when the other teams are also playing nicely. We need to go over our plans again and come out with better execution of those plans," Pooran said.

CSK Batting Is Sorted Now Because Ruturaj Gaikwad Will Be Coming Back: MS Dhoni

Legendary MS Dhoni said on Saturday the return of Ruturaj Gaikwad will bolster Chennai Super Kings' batting in the next edition of the IPL, after the top-order batter pulled out mid-way through the previous season with an elbow injury. Dhoni took over the CSK captaincy from Gaikwad but the five-time champions finished 10th on the table with just four wins from 14 matches, struggling to cobble together consistent batting efforts. "We are slightly worried about our batting order. But I think our batting order is quite sorted out now. Rutu (Gaikwad) will be coming back. He got injured. But he will be coming back. So, we are quite sorted now," said Dhoni during a private function in Chennai, indicating that the Super Kings will retain the services of Gaikwad. While he was delighted for the return of Gaikwad to the CSK fold, Dhoni said the team will try to further strengthen the unit through the mini-auction later this year. MS Dhoni To Play In IPL 2026? CSK Legend Says 'For Next 5 Years I Can...'

Last Updated: Dhoni, who was last seen in action for CSK on May 25, 2025, has hinted at participation in IPL 2026. Legendary Indian wicketkeeper-batter and former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was retained for Rs 4 crore by Chennai Super Kings ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. And in the 2025 edition of the world's richest franchise cricket league, he played in all 14 league matches and scored 196 runs. He even served as the captain of the team after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out due to an injury but was unable to help the five-time champions avoid the embarrassment of finishing last in the points table for the first time ever. After CSK's forgetful show in the IPL 2025, many fans and former greats feel that Dhoni won't play in the IPL again, but Dhoni didn't give any definite answer about his retirement after CSK's final match of the season. In a video going viral on the internet, when asked about his cricket future, Dhoni said, 'I just got a tick mark for the next five years I can play cricket. But the only catch is Doc only gave a clearance for eyesight. Body, He didn't gave a clearance for the body.
