The Leith Bottle Shop has been granted permission to fit a seating area in their premises.
The Licensing Board granted a license following a 14-month battle which saw the owners of the shop sit in front of the board on three occasions.
Thirsty Leithers will be able to get a cold pint at a -pop-up' in a few weeks with the owners also planning on installing a cellar in early 2026.
Leith Bottle Shop offers a range of locally sourced and unique products including craft beer which is produced in the surrounding neighbourhood.
Alex Harriss, owner of Leith Bottle Shop said: 'We're thrilled to have finally been given the go ahead to allow our customers to sit in for a drink as well as offering takeaway. Leith has a fantastic range of craft beer on offer, and we hope we can play just a small part in helping make Leith the place to go for beer lovers in Scotland.

Leith Bottle Shop opened at 30 Great Junction Street in May 2022 and sells over 450 different craft beers, wines and local spirits, with a continually rotating range.
Leith has the densest concentration of breweries of anywhere in Scotland with nationally renowned breweries including Newbarns, Pilot and Campervan.

The site lies within the urban area designated by the City of Edinburgh Council's City Plan 2030, bringing other uses for it supported in by building purpose-built student accommodation and leveraging its close proximity to the University of Edinburgh's Holyrood campus.

Edinburgh coffee caravan 'devastated' to close after 'irreconcilable differences'

More info An Edinburgh coffee caravan has been forced to close after 'irreconcilable differences'. Isle Coffee, who operated in Joppa, made the announcement with 'great sadness'. After launching on Harris, owners moved to Edinburgh in hopes of bringing 'good vibes and good coffee'. However, they say that 'in trying to satisfy the needs of the council they haven't met the needs of the community '. They hope to be able to return to the area in the future, and said they were 'devastated to have caused so much consternation'. Locals were left gutted by the news, and said the caravan has been a 'joy to have'. Posting online, owner Sean said: "It is with a deep sadness that I have to let the great customers of Joppa know that we are having to shut the Isle Coffee caravan on Morton St and Esplanade Terrace. New Edinburgh bubble tea shop to replace another bubble tea cafe in centre city

More info Another new bubble tea cafe is prepared to set up shop in Edinburgh city centre after an application for new signage was approved. HeyTea will open at 32-33 South Bridge between Ladbrokes and Ikigai Ramen Southbridge. An application for HeyTea branded signage was submitted to Edinburgh Council in February of this year and approved in late March. The shop will occupy the premises formerly occupied by another bubble tea shop, HI TEA, now closed. HeyTea is a popular bubble tea brand originating in China. They brand themselves as starting the "new tea style", which innovates traditional tea by adding ingredients like milk, fruit, and various toppings.
