IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Demi Moore named ‘Most Beautiful Person'

The actress admitted she "tortured" herself in her past pursuit of beauty as she discussed winning this year's Most Beautiful Person prize. "I did torture myself," Demi, 62, told the publication as she reflected on what beauty means to her. "Crazy things like biking from Malibu all the way to Paramount, which is about 26 miles. All because I placed so much value on what my outsides looked like... I was so harsh and had a much more antagonistic relationship with my body. And straight up I was really just punishing myself.".

Sonya's Top Cabaret Festival picks

I saw Davina perform one song at our Live in Cabaret show two years ago and was hooked. With a big voice and soul and sass in spades, she builds a song like no other, ultimately blowing the roof off any venue she performs in. When she starts, you just don't want her to stop. One of the consistent and best parts of the Cabaret Festival is, hands down, Trevor Jones in the Quartet Bar- and it's free! Whether it's after another show or a stand-alone Trevor experience, you won't regret spending a few minutes or hours singing along to your favourite songs and requests. Trevor is super talented, supremely credentialled musically and with a personality that shines brighter even than his talent. This show has really piqued my interest! A good belly laugh goes so well with Cabaret but I'm intrigued by how a Power Point presentation and a backflip gets thrown into that mix! Looking forward to finding out from this show from Demi, who's seemingly wowed them in Edinburgh Unapologetically Judith Owen You had me when you said 50's jazz and blues, but badass ladies sealed the deal! This sounds like a show to savour in a darkened Banquet Room with a good whisky in your hand. David Campbell Good Lovin and More There's a good reason people love David Campbell. Adelaide audiences have a soft spot for him, particularly from his time as a former Director of this Festival. But his slick stage presence, smooth ability to belt out some of your favourite standards and unmatched charisma is a combination that means it's a tick from me! It's Cabaret Week on ABC Radio Adelaide. Don't miss out on the fun!

Demi Lovato marries Jordan Lutes

Demi Lovato has married Jordan Lutes in a romantic ceremony in California. The 32-year-old pop star tied the knot with her partner on Sunday (25.05.25) and walked down the aisle in a custom gown by Vivienne Westwood before changing into a second dress for the glitzy reception. Demi told Vogue magazine: "I have been a fan of Vivienne Westwood's designs for a long time ... "When I was thinking about [what dress style I wanted] I often found myself coming back to Vivienne's designs - specifically how the silhouettes really compliment the curves in your body, and her use of corsets ... "We were not only able to work off that [initial] inspiration, but we added touches that really make this dress so special to me ... "I love everything about the dress." After wearing the silk off-the shoulder dress for her walk down the aisle, Demi changed into another gown - an ivory silk satin column piece covered in pearls for the reception. She added of dress number two: "There was so much attention to detail on the reception dress beading. "The pearl detail and draping is such a special element, and each strand was draped and attached by hand, one by one. It's a one-of-a-kind piece that makes me feel so special." The couple's wedding followed an intimate rehearsal dinner on Saturday night (24.05.25) for their closest friends and family. The big day comes after Demi expressed her excitement about the wedding in a Valentine's Day Instagram post dedicated to Jordan. She wrote: "Jordan, I cannot WAIT to marry you!! The past 3 years have been the best 3 years of my life and I have you to thank for that. "I'm obsessed with your heart, your love and your light. I can't wait to grow old with you and start a family together ... Happy Valentine's Day to the love of my life. I love you honey!!!" The couple are believed to have been dating since 2022 and they have been engaged since 2023 when Jordan popped the question in Los Angeles shortly before Christmas. Demi previously told PEOPLE: "You know, I've waited my whole life for him. It's very grounding to have a partner that is so supportive, so loving, so caring. "It's very easy to stay centered with him because I love him so much and he treats me so amazing."

Rumer Willis became 'enamoured' with films after shooting Striptease

Rumer Willis fell in love with the movie business on the set of 'Striptease'. The 36-year-old actress starred alongside Demi Moore, her mom, in the 1996 movie, and Rumer relished the experience of working on a film set at such a young age, admitting that she "loved every second" of the shoot. Rumer told People: "I was just so enamoured and kind of like, 'What is this world? What's going on here?'" The actress actually remembers dancing in her mom's shoes during lunch breaks. She said: "I loved the costumes. "During lunch sometimes I would go try and put my mom's shoes on and a feather boa and dance around the stage." Demi played an FBI secretary-turned-stripper in the movie, and Rumer still remembers her mom shooting a number of racy scenes. She shared: "I was like, oh, there's all these ladies around me all the time. I was just so enamoured." Demi, 62, previously admitted that she felt judged for playing a stripper in the film. The actress hit back at critics of 'Striptease', suggesting that she was treated unfairly at the time it was released. Speaking to Variety in 2024, Demi said: "There was an interesting kind of judgement placed on a woman who worked as a dancer, but the idea was that this was a woman trying to take care of her child in the best way she could." Demi became the highest-paid actress in the mid-90s, and she feels proud of herself for "changing the playing field for all women". However, Demi still feels bemused by how she was portrayed at the time. The actress - who was married to Bruce Willis between 1987 and 2000 - recalled: "I did 'Striptease' and 'G.I. Jane' back to back. If anything in this industry has ever been stacked against me, it was having those two films come out at the same time and becoming the highest-paid actress on top of that. "That moment was so powerful for me because it wasn't just about me; it was about changing the playing field for all women. "But, because I was portraying a stripper, I betrayed women. And because I played a soldier, I betrayed men."
