Police looking for man who sexually assaulted a woman in Blatchford
Edmonton police have released a composite sketch of a man who sexually assaulted a woman last month in hopes of identifying him.
A news release sent out Wednesday said a woman was attempting to get an Uber home in the area of 113 Street and Jasper Avenue around 1:30 a.m. on July 2.
The man stopped to offer the woman a free ride home, which she accepted. He then took her to a residential construction site in the Blatchford neighbourhood and sexually assaulted her. The man drove away, leaving the woman behind.
Police said they confirmed the man is not an Uber driver and did not identify himself as such.
The man said his name was 'Pharoah' and that he was from Egypt. He is described as being about 29 years old with short black hair, well-groomed facial hair, a muscular build and an 'Arabic' accent, said the news release.
He was wearing a button-up long-sleeved dress shirt and dress pants and was driving a black Audi, believed to be the A4 model.
Police believe there may be additional complainants and are asking anyone who may have experienced a similar incident to come forward.
Anyone who may have been victimized by the man or who has information about the man's identity, is asked to contact Edmonton police at 780-423-4567. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
