Man charged with rape and sexual assault after two girls 'attacked' near station

A 19-year-old man has been charged with raping and sexually assaulting two teenage girls at a railway station late at night.
Police responded to reports that a teenage girl had been raped and a second had been sexually assaulted at Digby and Sowton railway station in Devon on the evening of Friday, May 9. Devon and Cornwall Police have charged Sonny Boyes in connection with the two incidents. Boyes, from Exeter, has been charged with two counts of rape and three counts of assault by penetration relating to two victims and is due to appear at Exeter Magistrates' Court on Monday, May 12.
Officers have now urged members of the public who were travelling through the station late on Friday evening to come forward and contact them. Detective Inspector Emma Lefort from Exeter CID said: "The victims continue to be supported by our specialist officers at this time. We continue to investigate the incidents and want to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of Digby and Sowton railway station, or on a train passing through, between 8.45pm and 10pm on Friday 9 May.

Devon and Cornwall Police said in a statement: "Detectives investigating reports of rape and sexual assault against two girls near Digby and Sowton railway station have charged a man. We were notified on the evening of Friday 9 May to reports that a teenage girl had been raped and a further report that another teenage girl had been sexually assaulted within the Digby and Sowton area of Exeter.
"A detailed investigation was undertaken which led to charges being brought against Sonny Boyes who is aged 19 and from Exeter. He has been charged with two offences of rape and three offences of assault by penetration relating to two victims. He will appear at Exeter Magistrates' Court on Monday 12 May."

And now, in a newly emerged letter, Brueckner insists there is no evidence against him to tie him to the investigation as his scheduled September release date draws closer. In a letter seen by The Sun, he claimed the 'important' and 'decisive' questions about his involvement in Madeleine's disappearance have been left unanswered. He questioned if his vehicle was 'clearly' spotted on the night of the crime near where toddler vanished, and if his DNA or 'an injured person' had been found. He added: 'Are there other traces/DNA carriers of the injured party in my possession? Photos? 'And, not to forget, is there a body/corpse? All no, no no.' The sex offender continued by stating one did not have to be a 'realist' to forsee the accusations he is currently facing as well as the investigation 'will be dropped'. Further divulging his knowledge of Germany's legal system, the paedophile, who has been named as a suspect in the case for five years, pointed out the prosecution would have to prove his guilt, rather than he prove his innocence. The storage devices are alleged to have contained thousands of files, including images of child abuse, stories detailing fantasies of abducting young girls, and records of Skype chats with other paedophiles. Currently, Brueckner nears the end of a seven-year sentence for raping an elderly American woman in Praia da Luz in 2005 police need to move fast. His earliest possible release date is September 17 however that is unlikely as he will have to pay 1500 Euro in outstanding fines from a series of motor offences to do so. He has already admitted he will 'probably leave the country' which means police will have a nightmare to bring him back if charged. POLICE have foiled a suspected terror attack on soldiers protecting King Charles. Military personnel at a barracks just a stone's throw from Windsor Castle were warned not to leave the grounds in uniform after a man was arrested. The alert remained in place for two days at Victoria Barracks, home to the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards. A source said: 'The suspect is feared to have been plotting an attack. " Police informed bosses at the barracks and measures were taken immediately despite him already being in custody. 'It was a huge security scare. But it was in the interests of everyone's safety.' Thames Valley Police first arrested the 20-year-old in Slough, Berks, last week on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and arson at the nearby Salt Hill Activity Centre. While in custody on Sunday, he was re-arrested on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts. The investigation is now being led by Counter Terrorism Policing South East.
