Blake Burke scheduled for Knoxville return after minor league promotion

Former Tennessee baseball player Blake Burke was promoted to Double-A on Saturday. Milwaukee assigned him to Biloxi from High-A affiliate Wisconsin.
His promotion to Double-A will also mark a return to Knoxville Aug. 5-10. The Smokies will host Biloxi for a six-game series at Covenant Health Park.
Burke was selected by Milwaukee with the 34th overall pick in the 2024 MLB draft. He played for the Vols from 2022-24, appearing in 182 games, including 159 starts.
Burke recorded a .332 batting average, 50 home runs, 136 RBIs, 152 runs, 80 walks and 17 stolen bases. Tennessee won a national title in 2024, two SEC Tournaments (2022, 2024), two SEC regular-season championships (2022, 2024) and made two College World Series appearances (2023-24) during his career with the Vols.
The series opener between Knoxville and the Shuckers is slated for 7 p.m. EDT on Aug. 5 at Covenant Health Park.
