Journalist: Liverpool reach Alexander Isak AGREEMENT

Yahoo5 days ago
Liverpool have reportedly reached an agreement as they push to sign Alexander Isak. The striker is their top target this summer.
It's been an open secret that Liverpool hoped to sign Alexander Isak this summer. It was first reported back in January that they were looking at the Swede and links have gathered momentum ever since.

Now things feel like they're getting close. Isak is no longer a part of Newcastle United's pre-season and is pushing for an exit from the club.
Liverpool have made everyone perfectly aware that they're ready to do a deal, presumably for a British-record transfer fee. It's all about convincing both Isak and Newcastle that a deal should happen, though.
And according to one journalist, the former is sealed.
Liverpool agree terms with Alexander Isak
Journalist Florian Plettenberg claims Liverpool have reached an agreement with Alexander Isak. It's 'only' verbal at this stage but the player has given his yes.
"Understand: Alexander Isak has already reached a verbal agreement in principle with Liverpool over a contract running until 2031," Plettenberg writes on Twitter.
"Isak wants to make the move to LFC as early as this transfer window. The clubs are in contact. His salary at Liverpool would be similar to that of Hugo Ekitike's."
Now, it does seem a little strange that Liverpool would pay Isak the same as Ekitike. If only because Isak holds a much, much bigger reputation than Ekitike and would be a larger transfer.

Julian Ward favourite holds the KEY to Alexander Isak deal

A Julian Ward favourite could now hold the key to Liverpool completing a deal for Alexander Isak. It's very clear that the Reds want to sign the Swede international this month. However, it's also very clear that they are going to have to go about their business very patients. 🔴 Shop the LFC Store 🚨2025/26 LFC x adidas range🚨 LFC x adidas Shop the away range TODAY LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! LFC x adidas Shop the goalkeeper range today LFC x adidas Shop the new adidas range today! The reality is that in order to sign Isak, Liverpool are on a chain. A seemingly never-ending chain. That's because before Newcastle United agree to sell Isak, they will want replacements, and the sides who will sell them those replacements, want replacements for the replacements as well. And so forth and so forth, going round and round in circles. This makes the situation a very delicate one. From Isak's side, Liverpool can only hope he continues to force the issue, which will put the Reds in the driving seat. Liverpool have done everything to convince Isak that this is the best move for him and his career. He'd be joining one of the best teams in the world, playing under one of the best managers in the world, and the best players. For Isak, the decision is a no brainer. 🔴 Obviously, for Newcastle, things are a bit different. This is not an easy decision for them to make because Isak is probably their best player. You don't ever want to be in a position where you have to sell your best player. However, with Isak's desire to leave the club having been communicated very clearly to Newcastle, it does feel like they don't have a choice. So, now the Magpies face the unenviable task of trying to source a replacement for Isak. And that's not an easy thing to do. Right now, Benjamin Sesko appears to be the main target for them. However, how keen he actually is on a move to Newcastle is moot. Manchester United also want to sign the Slovenian and it feels like, Sesko would be leaning towards that move over Newcastle. Writing in the Daily Mail, Craig Hope has claimed that Newcastle do have alternative options to Sesko. One of the players who the Magpies have lined up and are considering making a move to sign is Goncalo Ramos. This is a player who will be very familiar to Liverpool's recruitment team. As Anfield Watch , Ramos was on the club's radar as well this summer, if they were unable to get their main targets - which included Hugo Ekitike and Isak. Julian Ward is thought to be a particularly big fan of the Portuguese forward and wanted him signed over Darwin Nunez. In the end, that move never materialised but Liverpool's admiration remains for Ramos. Now though he holds the key to the entire Isak deal. It could all depend on him. Whether he would be open to moving to Newcastle, and playing regular football. Or whether he is content in Paris, coming off the bench.

Bayer Leverkusen interested in Sevilla's Loïc Badé

L'Équipe reports that Bayer Leverkusen are interested in central defender Loïc Badé of FC Sevilla. Leverkusen continue to search for four to five new additions in order to increase their squad size ahead of the coming Bundesliga campaign. At present, newly appointed head coach Erik ten Hag presides over a very thin squad of just 24 players. Ten Hag does possess four quality centre-backs in the form of Edmond Tapsoba, Piero Hincapie, Jeanuël Belocian and new signing Jarell Quansah. Teenage prospect Axel Tape has also been added this summer. Badé also maintains a €25m estimated market value and L'Équipe reports that the German club are not alone in their pursuit of the 25-year-old. Whether Germany's red company team plan to head into the new season deploying previous head coach Xabi Alonso's 3-4-3 or ten Hag's preferred 4-3-3/4-2-3-1, the primary needs lie in the attack. Thus far, only young attackers Malik Tillman (23) and Ibrahim Maza (19) have been brought in during the current transfer window. GGFN |

Barcelona receive second offer for 19-year-old attacking starlet

Barcelona have moved on a number of players that were in action for Barca Atletic last season following their affiliate's relegation to the fourth tier. Young talent Jan Virgili was one of the brightest options in the final months of the season, but it seems he is set for an exit this summer. With the arrival of Roony Bardghji and Marcus Rashford, any opening into the first team appears to have slammed shut on Virgili, who was left out of their preseason tour to Asia. Virgili is not keen to continue in the fourth tier, and as a result, will consider a departure. Negotiations with RCD Mallorca Virgili was supposedly keen on a move to RCD Mallorca, who made an offer for half of his rights for €2m, with a buyback included for Barcelona. Yet talks have not advanced since, with Director of Football Deco seeking €4m for Virgili this summer. Barcelona are not considering loan offers, nor any deal that does not involve them retaining 50% of his rights as Virgili's talent is sufficient to make him a star down the line. Image viaFresh offer arrives from Almeria Meanwhile Sport say that another offer for Virgili has arrived. Former assistant manager at Barcelona, Rubi, is interested in taking Virgili to Almeria in Segunda, and they are willing to offer him a six-year deal. Their offer would be an improvement on that of Mallorca, with €3m on the table for 50% of his rights. Perhaps the unkown is whether Virgili would rather seek a La Liga move, or a bigger role at a Segunda club. Barcelona youngsters in the senior side Last season saw Hansi Flick grant big roles to Fermin Lopez, Gerard Martin and Marc Casado, but with a strong central midfield and busy forward line, the competition now makes it much harder for the most talented youngsters coming through to make it this season. Guille Fernandez, Dro Fernandez, Toni Fernandez and Jofre Torrents all impressed during their preseason tour though.
