
Sheikh Bin Humaid will deliver Arafat sermon

JEDDAH — Eminent Saudi scholar and imam and khateeb of the Grand Mosque in Makkah Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid will deliver the sermon and lead prayer at the Namirah Mosque on the Day of Arafat on Dhul Hijjah 9, 1446 for the upcoming annual pilgrimage of Hajj. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has issued a directive in this regard, according to the Presidency of the Religious Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque.
The Arafat Day marks the climax of the annual pilgrimage of Hajj. The standing at Arafat, one of the four pillars of Hajj and the most important ritual of the annual pilgrimage, will start after the Arafat sermon and performance of Dhuhr and Asr prayers in combined and shortened form.
Sheikh Bin Humaid is a renowned Islamic scholar and author of several books. He has served Saudi Arabia in various capacities, and these include speaker of the Shoura Council, chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, president of Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, head of the General Presidency for the affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, in addition to advisor to the Saudi Royal Court.
