Brad Holmes: Isaac TeSlaa was my favorite receiver in the draft
Holmes took one of them in the third round this year. He dealt the 102nd pick and two 2026 third-rounders to move up to No. 70 in order to select wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa out of Arkansas. The Lions got a couple of other mid-round picks in the deal, but the success of the trade will fall on a wideout who few expected to go so early.
TeSlaa brings a lot of size to the slot, which would be a different look for the Lions, and worked out well at the Combine, which led Holmes to give him a different grade than others and he said on 97.1 The Ticket that the price was worth it for a player he coveted.
'The pick that was probably the most questioned, I would say, was Isaac TeSlaa. I can say that he was my favorite wide receiver in this draft,' Holmes said. 'I'm not saying he was the best wide receiver in the draft, but favorite wide receiver in the draft, yes.'
Holmes has faced doubts about some of his other draft moves, but he's gotten the last laugh on most of them. If he's done it again, the Lions offense will be even stronger.

Lions CB Morice Norris says he is 'all good' after scary injury
Detroit Lions cornerback Morice Norris Jr., who was taken off the field via ambulance during a preseason game in Atlanta Friday night, provided a positive update about his condition via social media. "Amen Amen," he wrote on his Instagram story Saturday morning. "I'm all good man don't stress it appreciate all the check ins and love." A Lions-blue heart emoji and a bible verse followed. On the first play of the fourth quarter, Falcons running back Nathan Carter took a handoff and got into the Detroit secondary. As Norris went in for the tackle, Carter's right knee hit Norris in the head. The second-year player immediately went to the turf and Lions trainers ran onto the field. After the ambulance carrying Norris left the field, Atlanta quarterback Emory Jones took the snap and stopped the play. The Falcons offense and Lions defense remained on the field, meeting at midfield in a circle, the players bowing their heads and holding hands with each other. Lions coach Dan Campbell and his Atlanta counterpart, Raheem Morris, agreed to end the game. The Lions won 17-10. Norris was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center in Atlanta, for observation. The team issued a statement after the game that said Norris was in stable condition and "feeling and movement" in all his extremities. Norris, 24, appeared in two games for the Lions last year after signing as an undrafted free agent. He was in on one play on defense and 32 plays on special teams. He played two seasons at Fresno State (2022-23) after spending two seasons in junior college. Morice Norris posts that he's "all good" after scary injury cut Lions' game short
The injury suffered by Lions safety Morice Norris on Friday night in Atlanta was so scary that the teams agreed to end the game early as Norris was taken off the field in an ambulance at the start of the fourth quarter. But by Saturday morning, Norris was sharing positive news on social media. "I'm all good man don't stress it," Norris wrote. "Appreciate all the check ins and love." Lions teammate Terrion Arnold posted an image of himself and Norris talking on Facetime this morning. Although Norris had to be removed from the field on a stretcher and taken directly to an Atlanta hospital, the Lions later announced that he was conscious and alert and had movement in his extremities. It appears that a scary situation ended without Norris being seriously injured. The 24-year-old Norris signed with the Lions as an undrafted rookie out of Fresno State last season and spent most of 2024 on the Lions' practice squad.
