Sam Underhill to miss Bath's treble tilt after four-match ban
Sam Underhill will miss the end of the Premiership season and Bath's tilt at a historic treble after receiving a four-match ban for a dangerous tackle in the Challenge Cup final victory over Lyon.
The England flanker, who has been in fine form since returning from injury and suspension, was cited after receiving a yellow card from referee Hollie Davidson for his head-on-head collision with Lyon full-back Davit Niniashvili in the first half of the 37-12 victory in Cardiff.
In a hearing on Tuesday, the 28-year-old accepted that he had committed an act of foul play but denied that it met the red-card threshold.

The disciplinary panel disagreed, concluding that Underhill had tackled Niniashvili in a 'dangerous manner' and that the collision warranted a red card.
The panel adjudged that the offence was at the mid-range of World Rugby's sanctions and that a six-week ban was the appropriate entry point.
Two weeks were removed for Underhill's remorse and foul-play acceptance but due to his prior disciplinary record – this is his second ban this season for a dangerous tackle – there was no further mitigation and the final suspension stands at four weeks.
European Professional Club Rugby added in its statement that 'the date when Underhill can return to play will be determined once his future playing schedule is confirmed'.
Still available for England and Lions
While the ban precludes Underhill from any involvement in Bath's hopes of lifting a first Premiership title in 29 years, the flanker could still feature in all of England's Tests against Argentina and the USA this summer and, even, Lions matches in the event of a late call-up.

Underhill will certainly miss Bath's trip to Saracens this weekend and their Premiership semi-final at the Rec six days later. Should Bath reach the final, then that would act as the third match of Underhill's ban.
An England XV face a France XV at Twickenham a week later and the flanker, technically, will be eligible to play in that match and Telegraph Sport understands that the Rugby Football Union are expecting that to be included in any ban, as the fourth match, so long as Bath reach the Premiership final.
If Bath lose their home semi-final on Friday June 6 then the first Test against Argentina in La Plata on July 5 will be included in Underhill's ban no matter what.
The West Country side have already won the Premiership Rugby Cup as well as the European Challenge Cup.

Although Bath are not short of quality back-rowers, Underhill's absence will still be keenly felt. Ted Hill and Miles Reid started alongside the flanker on the back row in the victory over Lyon, with Guy Pepper coming off the bench.
Underhill missed all of England's Six Nations campaign owing to injury but has returned in characteristic form, earning the player-of-the-match award as Bath defeated Edinburgh in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup in the Scottish capital.

Newsom's office wishes Bed, Bath & Beyond well in ‘efforts to become relevant again'
California Gov. Gavin Newsom's (D) office on Wednesday knocked Bed, Bath & Beyond after the company announced it won't open any new retail stores in the Golden State. 'After their bankruptcy and closure of every store, like most Americans, we thought Bed, Bath & Beyond no longer existed,' the California governor's office posted on social media platform X. 'We wish them well in their efforts to become relevant again as they try to open a 2nd store,' the account added. Bed, Bath & Beyond announced this week it won't open or operate any new stores in California, citing what it called an 'overregulated' and a 'risky environment' for businesses. 'This decision isn't about politics — it's about reality,' Marcus Lemonis, the company's executive chairman, said in a Wednesday statement. He said California's business environment 'makes it harder to employ people, harder to keep doors open, and harder to deliver value to customers.' Lemonis noted the retailer will have stores in 'almost every other state.' Bed, Bath & Beyond closed all of its more than 300 stores across the country and declared bankrupty in 2023. Two years later, the company is attempting to stage a comeback, opening its first brick-and-morter store in Nashville, under the slightly changed name Bed Bath & Beyond Home. In California, while it does not have plans to open any stores, the company says it is offering 24-48 hour delivery services as well as same-day service for some products. In his announcement this week, the company's chairman targeted California's policies, saying, 'Higher taxes, higher fees, higher wages that many businesses simply cannot sustain, and endless regulations that strangle growth.' Retail theft has soared over the past two years, resulting in residents approving Proposition 36 in November to make repeat shoplifters subject to felonies. 'Even when the state announces a budget surplus, it's built on the backs of ordinary citizens who are paying too much and businesses who are squeezed until they break. At Bed Bath & Beyond, our responsibility is to our customers and our shareholders. We will not participate in a system that undermines both,' Lemonis said.

2025's Fantasy Football All-Boring Team: Travis Kelce among veterans who drafters can trust
Buzzy players often rule the fantasy football summer discussions, and I understand. We're all looking for ascending players and the next big thing. But that doesn't mean we should completely discount the possibility of making profits elsewhere — often by landing a veteran player who's offering some boring but efficient value. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] So that's the pitch for today's piece — the All-Boring Team. Maybe you won't build a marketing strategy around these guys, but never forget, in fantasy football, we just want the points. QB Jared Goff, Lions Goff isn't a flashy personality or a flashy player, and he's one of the most reluctant QB runners in the league. He also has to handle the loss of OC Ben Johnson this year, but a loaded cast of pass-catchers return to his huddle. When an NFL team has a veteran quarterback who's been around several seasons, you can consider that QB a part-time offensive coordinator. Goff hasn't forgotten what works with Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta, Jameson Williams and Jahmyr Gibbs. Detroit might not be the NFL's best offense again, but it should land somewhere in the top five. RB Aaron Jones Sr., Vikings I understand the excitement about new running back Jordan Mason, and I'd like a seat on that bus, too. But Jones isn't going to be left curbside. Jones played a full season last year, collected 1,546 total scrimmage yards, and was especially handy as a receiver (51 catches, 8.0 YPC). With the market starting to move Jones and Mason closer in ADP, I suspect the elder back is starting to become the more appealing value. RB J.K. Dobbins, Broncos Dobbins had a nifty comeback season with the Chargers, pushing to 1,058 total yards and nine touchdowns, finishing as the RB23 in half-point PPR scoring. And although Denver rookie RJ Harvey is the buzzy name in this backfield, the Broncos clearly had a platoon backfield in mind when they signed Dobbins in June. Dobbins is a capable receiver and an excellent pass blocker, which gives him a leg up for the hurry-up and third-down work. And even if Harvey eventually takes over this backfield in the second half of the year, I expect Dobbins to provide enough projectable volume to easily pay off his modest Yahoo ADP of 111.2. WR Calvin Ridley, Titans Ridley's had a meandering ride in the NFL, missing most of his age-27 season and all of his age-28 season. But he kept his head above water in the last two years, managing 140 catches and 2,033 yards despite the instability in Jacksonville and Tennessee. If rookie QB Cam Ward is anything close to league average, Ridley has a chance to smash his current mid-70s Yahoo ADP. Given that Ridley was able to survive with Will Levis and Mason Rudolph throwing him the ball, he's probably earned the right to be called quarterback-proof. WR DeVonta Smith, Eagles Smith commonly flies under the radar because he's the No. 2 passing option on a run-heavy team. But it's doubtful the Eagles can maintain last year's historically high run rate over expectation — everything had to fall right on both sides of the ball — and while A.J. Brown is still the featured target in Philly's offense, at least Smith is part of a condensed target tree. Smith averages 1,082 yards and 7.3 touchdowns for every 17 games played in the NFL. That likely represents his floor in 2025, and there's plenty of room for an ADP-profit season. WR Courtland Sutton, Broncos Suttons' career season stands on its own merit, but things really get cooking if you focus on the final 10 games: 60 catches, 804 yards, six touchdowns. Why do we cut up that sample of games? Because it adequately reflects when Sean Payton started to coach proactively with Bo Nix, his improving rookie QB. Sutton isn't a separation king, but his ability to win on boundary plays and in tight coverage serves him well in the red area. It's a pleasure to watch his subtlety at work. TE Travis Kelce, Chiefs Kelce turned down the volume in his age-35 season, scoring just three touchdowns and averaging a pedestrian 8.5 yards per catch. But there's something to be said for the volume he receives — he's drawn 100 or more targets for 10 straight years, including 133 looks last year — and there are plenty of questions about the Kansas City wideouts. How many games will Rashee Rice be suspended for? Is Xavier Worthy ready for an expanded route tree? Can Hollywood Brown stay healthy and consistent? Kelce's days as the king of the tight end position are obviously over, but I can't see why he won't catch another 85-90 passes, with perhaps a modest uptick in touchdowns. He's always going to be the biggest player downfield, the simplest read for Patrick Mahomes.

Meet Ethan Robinson, cornerback whose INT clinched win for Miami Dolphins over Detroit Lions
Cornerback Ethan Robinson was the unlikely hero of the Miami Dolphins' 24-17 victory over the Detroit Lions. Or maybe he wasn't so unlikely to play the role. Robinson sealed the victory with an athletic interception on the Miami 20-yard line with 22 seconds left. He leaped for the ball and managed to hang onto it when many players might have been content to just bat it down. Asked about what stands out on his film, Robinson said this: 'The two things I feel like stand out the most about my film is my ability to play the ball in the air and generate havoc that way, and my ability to tackle.' The Lions had driven down the field, threatening to tie or even win the game (we all know coach Dan Campbell calls an aggressive game, so why not go for two?). Speaking to Miami's WTVJ-Channel 4 after being the Lions, Robinson said, 'I just got up, tried to make a play. Got my blitz time right, saw the angle of the quarterback's arm.' Robinson was joined by a throng of his teammates as he galloped down the field in celebration. 'It felt great with the game on the line,' he said.
