An exit for Portimonense came last summer and he played regularly in the Portuguese second tier, with a total of 25 appearances.
The Polish top flight is his next destination though, with Jagiellonia now confirming him as their player.
A statement from them reads: "Jagiellonia Białystok has a new player. A three-year contract with an option to extend for another year with the Yellow-Reds was signed by Yuki Kobayashi.
"The Japanese player has moved to our club on a permanent transfer from Portuguese Portimonense. The defender will play with the number 4 on his jersey."

It is believed the bodies of Diogo and Andre Silva are lying in the Chapel of Rest, which is behind the main church. It came as Diogo's friend, former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, wiped away tears as he laid flowers and a scarf outside Anfield this afternoon. 'At this time of sorrow and consternation, Gondomar Town Hall extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of these two Gondomar residents. 'By way of tribute, the Mayor of Gondomar Luis Filipe Araujo, has decreed by official order a day of municipal mourning to be observed this Friday, 4 July. 'During this period, the municipal flag will be flown at half-mast in all municipal buildings and facilities.' The mayor described Diogo Jota today as 'an extraordinary talent and a true ambassador for Gondomar' where he grew up and went to school. The bodies of Diogo and his brother were greeted by heartbroken supporters and applause as their coffins arrived at a church in Portugal ahead of their funeral tomorrow. Mourners will gather early this morning to pay their respects at a wake in Gondomar after Jota, 28, and his sibling died in a fiery crash in the early hours on Thursday. 'We've virtually agreed between the club and Como so it looks at this point that he'll be on his way, but we just have to wait for confirmation,' said Rodgers, speaking to the media at Lesser Hampden on Friday night after Celtic defeated Championship side Queen's Park 1-0 in a friendly. Kuhn scored 24 goals in 69 appearances for the club, starred in their run to the knockout phase of the Champions League and was nominated for the PFA Scotland Premiership Player of the Year in his only full campaign at the club. 'I think it's very clear, the model of Celtic,' Rodgers continued. 'He's come in and in the 18 months he's done absolutely fantastic for us. 'Maik's never really consistently been able to stay fit and really take that spot,' said the manager. 'This time last year, he started a game for us (at Ayr) and then he got injured and was out for a number of weeks. 'So, he's had a couple of years where he hasn't quite got the games that he would have liked. So it's important that he goes out and plays.'
